If you are looking for a high performance iron that offers a great balance of workability and forgiveness, look no further. I've played over 50 rounds with these irons, and can't say enough good things about them. If you are a decent ball striker and can consistently strike the ball within a half inch of the sweet spot, you are good enough for the these Pro Series. If not, look at the regular X-18s. I work my irons left to right, but can also hit cut shots with these irons when I need to. After playing for a year with the Mizuno MP-30s in a quest to become a "player", I really enjoyed the forgiveness of the X-18 PS. With the Mizunos if I missed the sweet spot with a 7-iron by hitting the ball toward the toe, I would say I would loose about 15 yards of distance and be short of the green. With the X-18 PS the same miss maybe only nets a 5 yard loss, and I would still be on the green and 2 putt for par. These irons helped me reduce my handicap by 2-3 strokes, and my scoring really improved on par 3 holes. So for me, a player who can work the ball, but really only works the ball to get around trees, the X-18 PS are a great choice. Customer Service Excellent, you actually get knowledge humans to talk to when you call Callaway. Similar Products Used: TM Supersteel, Mizuno MP-30, Callaway X-14 PS |

I love these irons. I've done my research on these and heard from a number of close friends that these irons tend to hit the ball higher. But, I always knew that Callaway strong degrees their irons, so I figured I'd hit the ball a little lower. My 150 club is usually an 8, but sometimes a 9. I'm a Corey Pavin/Fred Funk type player. I love using the club I can swing at around 80% and still get it there. These irons feel good. They produce a lower ball flight and you can work the ball, if you want. I would recomend these for anyone who has a decent swing. THANKS! |

I bought my first clubs 15 years ago for $400. It was the Dunlop Maxfli tour-ltd. I have been very happy with them and still like to play (golf) with them.
Customer Service I've sent back a driver which had a loose part rattling inside. They fixed it and refinished the whole thing. Looked nice. Similar Products Used: Mizuno MP-60 |

I just returned to golf after 7 years and I was lost with all the new technology. I had played Pings' since the early 70s', but decided to try all the new clubs. I was familiar with Callaway woods, and once I hit the X-18s, I realized that Callaway also made a great iron also. I can work the ball either way, my misses are very consistant, and the feel is exceptional. Another winner for Callaway!!!! Customer Service Callaways' customer service is one of the reasons I went to Callaway. I ran a retail golf store in the 90s, and Callaway was then, and still is today, the number 1 customer service company in golf, period!!!! Similar Products Used: Mizuno, Taylormade, Ping |

Having found this site very useful while scouring the pro shops for a new set of irons, felt it was my duty to post a review. These irons are amazing - great accuracy and very reliable distance control. A little heavy in the head but once you get used to that it allows you to swing a little easier. They set up nicely and feel solid and you certainly know when you've hit it sweet. Tried the X-Tours, too, but these are much better. Very solid clubs. Will take some getting used to having played blades for the past 5 years. However, i am confident that they will improve my score as they are much easier to hit an inspire confidence. Customer Service Callaway Golf Centre in Las Vegas - excellent! Similar Products Used: none |

This is a nice set of irons. Excellent forgiveness and great workability. I have finally been able to cut the ball again. I have allways been a draw player, but this is actually letting me fade it a little. I must say, they are not magic, you must swing in order to hit, a good club will not fix a bad swing. My only complain is that I feel the ball is flying a little too high. Customer Service EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!! I sent my old 16 for repair, and they exchanged them for thes brand new 18 with my choice of grips and shafts Similar Products Used: EVERYTHING! G2, G5, X16, Mizuno, Titleist, Cleveland, Cobra, Nike, etc, etc etc. I am an equipment junkie |

I usually shoot in the low 80's high 70's. I am a club junkie and have played almost everything. I have never been a fan of Callaway as I like the look of the blade. I decided to give these a shot and I love them. They hit the ball far as the lofts are a little strong. The pitching wedge is at 46 degrees. These are very forgiving but I can still owrk the ball just fine. These might be my last set of irons for a while. I decided to try these just for the heck of it, being a PING fan since 1980, I "knew" I would hate these, well, I was WRONG! The biggest problem was having to club DOWN about one club compared to my PING EYE 2's. I hit these clubs long and high, the sand wedge has to be by far the best I have ever played with. After trying the rifle sfahts and the S-300, the 300's felt and performed the best for me.Swinging at a slower pace gives me the best results, not quite a forged feel but very close.
