Of anyone out there, who can't say these are not the longest irons made. I only have a swing speed around 109 mph; however, I hit my PW around 140, 9 iron around 155 and so on. The 3/4 irons don't have the distance though, but mid/short irons you can bomb. I shot a 67 yesterday on a 7200 yard course w/these babies.

Customer Service

Callaway is the best.......I broke the 5 iron and they sent me a new one free.

i like these clubs a lot i have a set for about a year or two. and the only bad thing about them that you can get use to is how hard it is to get use to swinging the clubs. i can hit them well but its all in the swing. you kinda have to swing a diffrent way to be able to adjust to them. there great clubs just hard to get use to.

I was curious what others write about these clubs, having owned them for five years. After reading these reviews, I felt like adding my two cents:

I'm in my 50's and have played about 25 years. What others say about the compact, short swing using these irons is correct. A full, long swing will produce a myriad of results, most of which are scattered shots and irregular distances. However, the good news is that if you'll allow yourself to slow your swing and compact it, the results with these clubs is nothing short of phenomenal. It took me a while to figure this out, but once I did, I loved getting the amazing looks of astonishment from my playing partners. For example, on a 155 - 160 yard Par 3, my partners are hitting 6 or 7 irons and I'm hitting a PW or 9 iron depending on wind and pin placement. 200 yards in to the green I'm hitting a 5 or 6 iron, maybe a 4 iron if there's a little wind in my face. I still hit the 3 iron when I'm trying to reach from 225 - 230 yards out.

All of those distances with these clubs were not achievable until I learned to take a much shorter, compact swing and trust that I could make good contact. The long backswing just does not work with these clubs.

Finesse 1/2 swing and 3/4 swing shots are not the forte of these irons. Balls tend to shoot off the clubface much faster than you anticipate, so I recommend that you carry a nice assortment of wedges for in-between shots. However, if you do opt to use these, I have found that when I practice for extended periods of time (very hard to find time for that anymore) these clubs will perform well and can produce shots that "stick" and if you're the type that feels you need to spin the ball back, these clubs will perform the task exceedingly well.

I purchased these with the Callaway graphite stiff shafts and they have performed admirably. If you can find you a set of these iron in the under $200 range you will be doing yourself a disservice to pass them by.

Fitting was extraordinary.

A few months back an 'old boy' at the range asked if id like to try his set of these irons, the next day i was looking on ebay and bought a set (3-pw in firm graphite) for £250. In fairness was having wonder rounds followed by naff rounds with them until tried a shorter, slower swing(as recomended by an earlier reviewer)--bingo!! it really hits the spot, accurate, reasonably long and the ball ends up 2' from the pitch mark...i would definetely recomend these clubs(get a seperate pw/sw etc for short game though as these seem a bit thick and i struggle with them). If you try a fuller, faster swing you get penalised...go buy!!!

OK,

Here's the deal from a true yet objective fan of the game of golf and the sweet art of the golf swing. I own and regularly play the S2H2 irons and love them dearly. Like others who have commented on distance, etc., I also hit my 6-irons 200 plus yards on any given swing. But I gotta tell you, these hawkeyes are plain easy to hit and spark when you really step on them. Yes, you do lose some distance on some wedge shots on the approach to the green. Yes, the sand wedge in particular is tricky to finesse those lovely lobs with the 3-qtr swing. But all and all, from 3-iron through pw, these clubs rock! Especially the 3-iron with the ball below your feet. You know, where you let the slope do the work! Awesome! Yes, I am a callaway fan! Yes, I am one shot shape and a putt away from breaking 90! But the fact of the matter is, you can't buy a game. You have to be committed to the target, committed to the club and committed to the swing. These clubs definitely aid your commitment to the SWING!!! Ely and the gang knew what they were doing! Good luck and keep it in the short grass!!

Customer Service

Haven't had to use them, but I am confident they are 1st rate.

Model Reviewed: Hawkeye clones (Turbo Power)

Yep, I know most of the guys here just hate reviews about clones... I can live with it. I recently obtained a set of the Turbo Power copies of the Hawkeye, 3-PW for $30 on Ebay. I matched them with a set of Innovative S flex graphite iron shafts, with the FILA logo for $4.99/shaft. VERY good shafts, 85 grams, 3.2 torque. Look up the specs on the grafalloy and UST iron shafts... they are just not as good. The result is a REALLY nice hitting set of irons. Turbo power makes a quality product, and this copy is REALLY close to the original. 431 stainless is 431 stainless, fellas, and if the design is really close to the original, as this one is, you get a very good result. So a new set of irons for well under $100. Not everyone can afford $300-$500 for a good set of irons. Instead of buying a chepo Wal-mart set or a Nicklaus or Armour closeout (they stink) do yourself a solid and try component clubs. I play to about a 7 hdcp, and I recently sold my set of mx-23 (graphite)irons for $430. These hit better. And even though they don't have a name brand on them, the finish is really nice, high polish crome, dark blue shafts.

Best clubs I've ever hit. These go long, high, and straight, and what more can you ask for. I bought a +1.5" set (I'm 6'6") on eBay for less than $300, and I have to say it was the best golf investment I've ever made. I can crush my long irons now, especially the 3 iron, when before I wouldn't even bring my 3 and 4 to the course. They felt a little clunky at first, but now that I'm getting used to them I absolutely love them. However, I would recommend buying at least a couple more wedges since it's very difficult to take something off the PW, but that is my only complaint. (by the way my value rating of 5 out of 5 is based on the price I paid, not the retail price)

Waited thru season to rate, wanted to see if these clubs helped--they do. I am amazed with how easy they are to hit, with one caveat, I have to use a very abbreviated and slow swing. This easy to control swing produces more distance and much better accuracy than full swings with my previous clubs. I was concerned with the thick top outline of these clubs--especially the wedges but that has proven not to be a problem--from the first swing I did not notice this difference. I am hitting both a four and five iron now, reducing my reliance on harder to control woods. I find the ball flight on these clubs to be quite high but this isn't a problem for me--since they are accurate, I can adjust for the wind by aiming them to take the wind into consideration. I wish I had found these irons years ago--they certainly work for me and have so improved my iron striking that I now "go for the pin" on most shots.

I had been using 845s for the past year and wanted a more forgiving club. Well, it doesn't get much more forgiving than this! I'm a lefty, so I almost never see a set of irons on sale here in Japan. I just lucked out when a new Golf Superstore opened up and had this 10 iron set 60% off. I was hoping to buy a set with stiff flex steel shafts and this set is regular flex graphite. Turns out it was the right combo for me anyway. I didn't lose or pick up distance from my Silver Scotts. What I got instead was the same distance everytime with every iron. To me that's the whole ball of wax. And, I can hit a fade or draw at will from 5 iron down. I can also hit a low trajectory shot by setting the ball back in my stance and closing the face a little. If you can't work these clubs, then you probably don't know how to work any club. I've broken 80 twice already and I'm looking to do it consistenly this year. I love the way they look, the way they feel and I fortunately didn't have to pay the price some of you did. Lucky me!

Customer Service

I haven't had to deal with them yet and I worry a little cause I'm in Japan. But, I have faith in Callaway.

I bought these clubs and played them for about a year now.. Excellent clubs.. I have steel shaft (stiff).. Long irons are really easy to hit.. distance is pretty good.. very accurate.. one of the most forgiving clubs you can find.. I don't think it is worth its original price ($1000).. but for $350, it's worth it..

Customer Service
