I have tried these clubs off and on for years when various people I was playing with had them. I always thought they felt good and seemed to always hit the homerun shot with them. But being a golfing ho I continued to buy the latest and greatest thinking it would make me better rather than working on my swing. I finally decided to get fitted and bought this set in uniflex steel in my specs. +1/2 2*up. I have been crushing the ball and hitting my shots with much greater ease and on the sweet spot. I love these clubs..they just feel right in my hands...Nice controlled swing produces great results...long, straight, high, and soft. Off center still keeps the ball in a very playable area.
Very reasonable priced on callaway pre owned...you know they are going to be good and geunine...not like rolling the dice on ebay. In closing...get fitted it makes a huge difference, try these clubs if you can..they are the best clubs in my opinion callaway has ever made...I have hit and owned fusion, fusion widesole, X-18 and hit all the other new big bertha irons and the 2002's beat them all...My only issue is I waited so long to actual buy a set..Great for mid- handicaps...size has not been an issue at all once you see the results...

Customer Service

Callaway Pre-Owned...great service..

I bought a used set in graphite a few years ago after years of tinkering with numerous other clubs. These Berthas are the best for someone who wants to get out there and enjoy a game of golf and not worry so much about working the ball. It's like having a bag full of "rescue clubs." They are so forgiving I don't get anxious when I walk up to my ball to hit anymore. I'm short off the tee and needed to be able to hit the long irons. This is the only set of clubs where I can confidently hit the 4 iron. I recently bought a set of the '06 Big Berthas and took them back for my 2002s! Now I can concentrate on chipping and putting, which is where I lose most of my strokes. I am a certified golf club junkie and have tried everything from blades (what was I thinking -- 89 is a good score for me?) to various other models (see below for similar products used.) I may tinker again but will NEVER part with this set.

i've owned this set for over 5 years. besides my walmart set this is the only one i have golfed with until recently. i decided to make the jump to blades (mizuno mp 32) and after a few rounds with them it makes me appreciate just how easy my bb's are to hit. if i miss the sweet spot with the blades they really punish, but a miss with my bb's would only result in a slight yardage drop that would leave me scratching my head. these are great sticks for the occasional golfer or someone looking for an immediate game improvment. but if ur serious about attempting to improve ur game u will eventually have to give them up. they will not give u any feedback, u will never be able to work the ball effectivlly and for me looking down at that shovel did not enstill alot of confidence. another note, i like to walk when i play, and my bag must weigh atleast 20 pounds less since i lost the shovels. thats a big diff during 18 holes. i give the value a 5 because i know u can get these clubs for $150 and thats great value for these clubs. for rating i would give a 3.5 because as good as these clubs are, they are very limited in what they offer. but for most thats more than enuff.

These have to be the easiest irons I have every used, I now step up to the ball with confidence, I have gained about ten to fifteen yards with the longer irons and have seemed to lose distance with the shorter wedges, they send the ball high and stop it dead, the best money I have ever spent.

Customer Service

Have had no need to use it.

Best game improvement irons. Better than Bertha 06 and the original 96. My previous irons were the X18s. Nice set too, but I need more help. Very solid feel, confidence boosting clubs. Generates consistent straight shots. These irons are great because they make me want to go out and play.

Customer Service

Callaway is great. Answers emails promptly. Sent me a 3 pack of headcovers free of charge.

Model Reviewed: Callaway Big Bertha Irons 2002

I have owned this set in graphite regular for 5 years. Like most people, I spent a lot of time looking for irons that were both easy to hit and accurate. If you can get over the fact that each iron looks bulky at address then you will do fine. But to think of it, Callaway was ahead of its time as we see all the hybrid irons coming out. I can say that after 5 years these are still my favorite irons. I very seldom hit shots that slice or fade - very little fat shots. Shots are mostly straight, high, and accurate. If you hit a really off shot it is most likely you and not the equipment. The variable face technology is quite nice and provide good feed back when the ball is struck dead center. The 4 iron is easy to hit. I realize that how far each person hits the ball and with what iron is relative. I did notice a considerable distance increase over the knock-offs I started with. For 150yds a 7 iron vs. an 8 iron with the BBI 2002. Overall, if you can find a set of these in good condition, I believe you would like them. It will need a little fine tuning to adapt them to your swing. One thing I learned early on is that you do not need to swing real hard to get these to perform. A nice easy swing will get you a good deal of distance. I am looking to get these in steel shafts as my game is getting better and need a bit more accuracy.

Customer Service

Great customer service. I bought the wrong set with stiff shafts. Sent it back to them. They refitted regular shafts and enlarged the grip and got them back to me fast.

All around good iron set. It is forgiving, without sacrificing much distance. I recommend this set for golfers, struggling to hit irons consistantly. Good Clubs!!!

I have always been someone who isn't impressed by Brand Names and the prices attached to them. I have been persevering with my knock off irons for the last five years. I have been sitting in the low 90's to high 80's for about two years. As I consistantly Drive about 80% on the fairway and rarely 3 putt it only left the irons to improve on and this wasn't happening for me.
This Xmas I bit the bullet and with the help of an excellent pro settled on a set of Big Bertha irons 4-SW and headed straight for the driving range. After hitting 200 odd balls and realigning my stance as these cubs actually allowed me hit the ball straight not to mention an extra 20-40 yards on all clubs I headed for the course. I prceeded to hit 15 greens in regulation and posted a 82 and that was with a very ordinary putting day!!! The following round shot a 79.
These clubs allow me to place the ball where I want and at a hight that stops the ball dead in it's track. My confidence has sored and more importantly I am now enjoying the game so much more!!
Any one who says clubs don't make a difference is wrong. Thank you Callaway for bringing the enjoyment back to my days on the course.
Next purchase Big Bertha Woods!!!!!!!!!!

Customer Service

Havn't needed it yet. however if the after sales sevice was as good as the fitting out of the clubs I'm sure I won't be dissapointed.

Model Reviewed: Callaway Big Bertha 2002 irons

As an 8 handicap, I've been trying to find a set of irons that gives me a bit more consistency. I currently own 3 sets, Titleist 690MB’s, Callaway X Tour’s and my recent purchase, a set of Callaway Big Bertha 2002. I opted for the 2002’s as I have used the 2 iron for 18 months.

I tried playing with the standard uniflex shafts and hit the ball too high. So I took the shafts out of my Titleist's, Precision Rifle 6.0’s and had them fitted. The ball flies lower, longer and straighter.

I’ve replaced the 10 and W iron Titleist Vokey 48* and 52* wedges.

Consistently shooting between 3 and 5 over par, I wish I’d thought of this sooner!

In all, the best irons I've ever played. Not pretty to look at. Not very responsive but long and straight. In my book, that's good enough!
