Ben Hogan Apex Edge CFT
After playing Callaway X-12´s for about three years and shooting in the mid 80´s I decided that there must be a way to become even more accurate with my irons. After a long search and trying out varios clubs (X-16´s, Apex Edge Pro, and the CFT´s), I found that us "average" golfers playing about 4-5 times a month are best off with a more forgiving club. The CFT´s are just that, plus they provide you with some extra power too. I´m at least a club longer with them and hit the 3 iron close to 235 yards... Given the great accuracy these clubs provide I´ve lowerde my score by about 4-5 strokes a round . |

These have got to be the easiest clubs to hit. In all honesty, you can't miss with them. I was looking for a new set of irons when the rep showed me these CFT's. At first glance they looked a little chuncky for my liking. But I hit them in the practice net and they are the sweetest, easiest things to hit. I used to shoot mid 90's to low 100's. After playing with these irons I shoot high 80's. Customer Service rep at House of Golf. Very helpful, told me what I needed to know. Hogan Edge CFT Steel 4 Flex
In a word, AWESOME. True, they aren't the softest feeling clubs on the planet, but they are LONG, STRAIGHT and FORGIVING. Mine are Steel4Flex 3/4" long with a +2 upright lie. Added the 50* FW and 56* SW after I fell in love with these. I hate what range balls do to them, so I bought a spare 5 and 9 iron to bang around those range rocks. Clean them after every round and use ClubGlove iron covers. Pulled out my 4 iron from 215 yards and put it pin high, can you say G.I.R.?? I wouldn't trade these for anything except a weekend with JAG's Catherine Bell. Monday AM, I'd go to Pro Golf and order another set. Thank you Mr. Hogan for an excellent game improvement set of irons!!! Customer Service Phenomenal. Had my clubs 10 days after ordering them. Registered them online and had my FW and SW a week after I ordered those. Similar Products Used: Powerbilt 6.0 |

I straggled previous my irons, so that I decided to change my irons to new ones. Golf shop recommended to me Nicklaus CGX, TaylerMade RacOS, new Wilson, Cleeveland T-7, Ping i3, and Ben Hogan Edge CFT. I tried to hit balls with these clubs. Ping and Ben Hogan were very good and impressive to me. Very easier than my clubs. Ping had softer feeling at hitting balls than Ben Hogan. But Ben Hogan was rather perfect than Ping. I do not know why, but I can hit balls with the very spot of the clubs anyway. Considering price and special service with golf bag(my price included Ben Hogan golf bag), I decided to buy this clubs. Trajectory is a bit higher, and distance is a bit longer (5-10m) than my previous clubs. I loved them. But these with hot and stiff hit are not good around the green. Now I still used previous PW and SW giving softer and higher balls around the green. I loved Ben Hogan Edge CFT very much, and I hope you enjoy golf with them as well. Customer Service I have not used customerService. Similar Products Used: Nicklaus CGX, TaylerMade RacOS, new Wilson, Cleeveland TA-7, Ping i3, and Ben Hogan Edge CFT |

Simply... WOW! I ordered these irons without hitting them! I had hit the Apex and the Apex Edge and loved the feel, but the look of these really caught my eye... then the price of $355 new pushed me to buy a bit faster than I had planned. I have the Apex #4 steel shafts with standard loft and lie. Incredibly solid feeling clubs. The groves are a bit sharper than I expected, even long irons peeled the finish of of NXT-tour balls (Max-fli noodles have been suggested as a more durable replacement). But the spin they impart is incredible. There are limits in moving the ball left and right... but with that limitation comes a more consistant straight flight on mis-hits (can't have both people... it is one or the other). I absolutely love these clubs... I just hope they love me as well. Customer Service Had one contact via e-mail with Hogan... they were very responsive and helpful. I must confess my purchase was a little impulsive but I was given plenty of opportunity to try these clubs in the company of the club pro who was very knowledgeable. Immediate impressions were of a strong club that hit the ball on a very high trajectory and stopped the ball quickly on landing. Ball workablility is a little limited with only a slight fade and draw possible. It is possible to hit the ball low when it is played back in your stance. Chipping takes some practice because the ball comes a little hot of the club face. The grooves grip the ball very effectively promoting backspin. The highlighted leading edge aids alignment. My particular set are fitted with no 3 apex shafts (regular flex). They are approx 1 club stronger than my previous set. Can flatter a bit on poor shots so take care to concentrate on your set up and grip. Customer Service Excellent at point of sale. I have not had to contact Hogan Similar Products Used: Wilson Deep Red fat shaft |

I tired so hard to make these clubs work for me. I had the graphite #4 shafts and found them...OK, not great. Had stiff Rifle graphite installed. WAAAy too stiff for me. Replaced them with regular flex Rifle graphite. Very nice. However, I ended up deciding that I was trying to put the wrong saddle on the wrong horse. The irons did not have the feel I wanted. I found the E wedge difficult to work around the greens. A couple of the irons had a tendency to be too hot. They worked....but were never really fun to hit. I finally started fresh and at my Pro's suggestion tried the Mizuno MP 30 with a Dynamic Gold/sensicore shaft. End of search!!!!! For me, the MP 30's are awesome. Sorry Hogan......I really tried to love ya. Customer Service excellant. I spoke with two service reps about shafts, model comparisons etc. and found them to be very helpful and knowledgable. Edge cft steel shaft (3) extended by 1". I am playing since one year and I have tried Mizuno's MX 20 as well as Titleist DCI 962. The DCIs where great clubs but difficult to control for a golfer in the 90 (tendency to slize the ball). The Edge cft help to swing more easily (if you try to force it, you're lost). When you hit them in the sweet spot they provide a nice feed back ("Click"). The clubs are very forgiving but not as much as I expected. Trajectory is very high and the ball stops where in comes down. Distance is OK (the DCI where longer). Finally the look is beautiful! Very nice irons but not the miracle which will boost your handicap. Recommended! Customer Service Bad. I had to wait 6 weeks for my set (one inch longer, mid size grip). Very expensive in Europe! Just off the range from trying four irons. Picked the Hogan as it feels great when the ball comes off the titanium face - more like a forged club, off centre hits still go well. Also tried the Callaway X16 pro, titleist 762, and the Cleveland TA7. It was between the Hogan and the Cleveland but the Hogan took it because of trajectory, ease of hitting and the off centre hits that still go a long way. Only reservation is in the width of the sole on the club - quite fat, tend to prefer the thinner sole of the Cleveland - but don't go for looks, go for the club that hits the sweetest. Good value too, compared to the other 3 I tried. Similar Products Used: Cleveland TA7 Titleist 762 Callaway x16 pro |

3-Flex steel shafts. I was looking for a set of irons to help me improve my golf game. The CFTs make a distinct ping when the sweet spot is hit. And, they have been forgiving on my "less than perfect" swings. So far, these clubs have helped me slow down my swing, hit the ball slightly further, and more efficiently. I also purchased the 52, 56, and 60 degree wedges. I strongly recommend purchasing the gap (52) wedge with the set. I bought these clubs two weeks ago and have played four rounds of 18 holes. Great purchase. Customer Service Not used. Similar Products Used: Taylormade, Calloway, Ping. I tried these different sets at Pro Golf Discount before purchasing my Ben Hogans. |
