There are lots of new irons out there. Some with new strange designs and others that make you think you are swinging a beer can on a stick. For my irons I like forgiving and I like a nice looking club.Thick upper lines turn me off but so does hard to hit clubs.Welcome CFTs!Great looks-almost old style to some extent but very forgiving.I guess one problem with them is that average shots go well-and sweetspot shots well-Is that my ball in the parking lot? With that Ti face sweetshots really go.As normal I have picked up 20 yards over most other irons(MX-11 Mizunos my last irons)The standard reg steel shaft are Royal Precision.I weight about 230 pounds and these seem just right.#5 iron goes about 170 yds.On irons its straight not distance and these are straight if your are lined up correct.Grips are velvet-nice.Very forgiving and very nice looking. There are other irons out there that are good also but for forgiving performance, good looks, and really a reasonable price for what you get the CFTs deserve at least a look.

Used to play the Ben Hogan Apex Edges, had great success with them and planned on keeping them in the bag for a while that is until I tried the CFT's. The CFT's are much easier to hit and get up in the air. The distance is amaizing and much better than all of the other Irons I tried. I also felt the feel was pretty good as well. You can really feel the ball jump off of the face. It is not as great as a fully forged iron but it still feels great.

I started playing golf in the beginning of '03 and i got hooked on the game so quick. I got good enough to shoot in the mid to low 80's consistently. I was going to try out for my high school team so i wanted some new irons thatfit me well. i went down to roger dunns and tested alot of irons, TA7, nike forged, macgregor v foil, callaway x-14 and x-16 and i was leaning more towards the v foil then i got to hit the edge cft's and they area truly remarkable club, soft feel, beautiful club. Nice high ball which i love, deep grooves which may chew up a ball but worth it with all the spin the iron produces, im a little iffy on the shafts the ben hogan #4 shafts, im looking to reshaft/grip my clubs so theyll be in tip top shape for the season. these irons are diffinitley worth the coin. good luck

Bought these irons mainly because I couldn't resist the rockbottom price of 380 bucks. Very easy to hit and forgiving, nice looks, great quality. Was used to True Temper S300 shafts – if you are as well, don't buy the Hogan shaft Number 4, which is also considered stiff. It's way to whippy and things get worse, the longer the iron. Another point is the titanium face construction: You get an unbelievable spin and a nice pingy sound, but the ball sure suffers. After two or three holes it's totally scuffed and you can chuck it (tried many different brands, same result). All in all, however surely a set of clubs worth buying!

Rockbottom rules, extremely fast and reliable. Even all the way to Switzerland.

I tried numerous irons before settling on these. Previously was playing 2002 BB's and liked them, but they broke and wanted something smaller and less klunky. To give you an idea of my preference, I also really liked the Ping I3's, Cleveland TA7's, Callaway X16's . Was really looking for something with a soft feel. Tried hitting the hogan edge cft's in a reg. flex graphite and really liked them. My instructor tried hitting them too and said the clubs really launch the ball. When hit in the sweet spot, they really do feel sweet. No harshness, just a sweet feel. I get the forged softness, but they are a cavity back and give me enough forgiveness that I need. Off center hits give enough feedback without being too harsh. I had never really considered them before I tried hitting them in the store. Didnt know if I liked the looks of them at first, but even the looks of the clubs have grown on me. All in all, I am very pleased with these clubs. I got a bit more distance versus my old clubs, but that could also be due to the difference in flex in shafts versus my old clubs. I really like the stock graphite shafts on these clubs too.

Before purchasing the CFT I played with Hogan blades, 1983 Radials to to exact. The older I get the more difficult it is for me to muscle the forged blades. However, after test driving the CFT's I was hooked. The forgiveness factor is everything the manufacturer claimed it would be. The #3 & 4 irons are so easy to hit that I've added a # 1 and 2 iron to my bag. I dont' know why I waited so long to move to a cavityback, but Iam glad I did.

Prior to purchasing these, I played with a set of Cobra Gravity Backs for the last maybe 6-7 years [I bought them when they first came out]. I thought they were ok, but I was struggling. I decided that maybe it was time to look for new this year. I narrowed it down to the TA-7's and the CFT's. I hit my club against both. The CFT felt best to me. I demo'd a set on course...and that was it. I had to have them. Then one night I went to Golf Galaxy. They spent the time to fit me and let me hit every club in the store new and used. I hit the TA-7's, RAC's, Ping, Cobra SSI, MacGregor V-Foil, Mizuno [various]...all game improvement clubs tho. The CFT still felt best. I hit it against my Cobras...still loved it. The salesman checked lie and the CFT fit perfect. Sold. I got hem and have only had them out a couple times, but let me just say I LOVE these clubs. My favorite club is the 3 iron. NEVER have I hit a 3 iron like this. I can use it at just under 200 yds out and put it on the green? Simply amazing. I know club decision is very subjective, but if you are looking, you may want to give these a swing. I decided this time to try everything in the store before I bought and it worked. This club fits me and my game perfectly...mayb it will for you too.

well, I came home to find the car had been broken in to. As soon as I saw the lock had been punched in, I knew the bats had been lifted. I had just purchased a new Titleist 975J.VS, I had a Ping putter that my folks had given me, and the bag was also a present. What was my first thought? "The b#stards have knocked off the Hogans..." Suffice it to say, the CFT's were the first thing that I replaced. They are great. I had the Edge Pro before that, and as good a club as they are, the CFT's knock at least 5 shots off a round. I no longer need a 3 wood to hit off the carpet; just pull out the 3 iron. It really is that good. In fact, I am thinking of getting the 1 iron as well. Yes, these do scuff the pills. They do hit it high. But having gone back to my Dad's King Cobra's over the replacement intrum and almost shattering my hands on old jarring technology, who cares? They fly straight and consistant. Now I just have to work on the putter!! And to the guy who stole my clubs, may they now have some bad sh*t in them and make you shoot 120!!!

Customer Service

Not strictly Hogan, but to anyone buying clubs in Victoria, Australia, head to The House Of Golf in Melbourne and speak to Clyse the Glyde. If he looks after you as well as he looked after me, you'll leave a happy person.

I'm a soon to be 57 year old golfer who was once a 1.5 handicap player. My clubs up until a few years ago were traditionaly "forged Blades" with stiff steel shafts. About 8 years ago I became a victim of Fibro Myalgia and osteo arthritis (a chronic syndrome that causes much muscle and joint pain) . Although I can no longer walk the course,I can still swing a club at 100mph but not with the consistency of years ago. During the past few years I decided to change my irons to "game improvement" designs. I have owned Mizuno T zoids, Adam New Idea, Callaway X16 Pros. Results were probably best with the Zoids, but others were definitely hurting my game. I still required a "stiff" shaft and could not get used to the larger heads and the thick top rail with offset. But it was time to hang up the cape and find a more forgiving club. The Adams and Callaways were dreadful. After reading the reviews on this forum I took the Hogans for a spin and ended up trading the Callaways for the Hogan CFT's. What a club!!! After only two rounds I began to play like the old days. These clubs set up well, shoot straight as an arrow, and feel great! The only negative thing I have noticed is that they do take the surface off the balls. I would rather change a ball once a round than lose 2 or 3 new balls in a hazard. I replaced the grips with Winn over sized because of my arthritis. I love these clubs. I would highly recommend these clubs to anyone that is not playing with me as an opponent!
