Great clubs! Sold my BH-5 irons to get the CFTs. They are easy to hit. Some have suggested they are a little heavy. I found them not be heavy at all. But you do feel the clubhead on the end of the shaft which I like, yet they swing effortlessly for me. They are forgiving but will let you know when you don't hit it square. Even miss-hits go pretty far and straight. The grooves are aggresseive and they produce lots of spin. I would recommend these clubs for low to mid-handicappers who want some forgiveness but still require some skill to hit. Customer Service Purchased on-line. These clubs were a demo set at Edwin Watts. Similar Products Used: Tommy Armour 845s

I have only been playing for a year, but my game was improved with every game. Being new to the game I originally purchased a set of Dunlop Revolution Irons with graphite shafts that were pretty cheap. After having my 3, 4 and 9 iron shafts break at the nozzle I started to look for some new clubs. I took notice of the Edge CFT in a local sports store. The look of the clubs really caught my eye. When I pulled one out of the display I really liked the way they felt and the balance was really a big change compared to what I had been using. I read probably a hundred reviews on different club, but I liked what other golfers thought of these clubs. I purchased them on Sunday and had my first chance to play with them on Monday afternoon. All I can say is Wow what an improvement. That little click that others described was a great gauge to use to tell if I was hitting the ball well. It is so nice to be able to take divots and my shot accuracy improved dramatically. My handicap continues to drop with every game I play. I am very elated that I purchased these clubs and would recommend them to anyone interested. Let me mention before I forget that the average price for these clubs is around $600.00 and I was very lucky and purchased them for $375.00 new. Customer Service Have not dealt with them. Ben Hogan Edge CFT
Shafted with the Apex regular flex (#3)steel shafts. Was playing with King Cobra SS Oversize irons, which are some years old so decided to get some irons that are only a few years old. The Hogans are solid clubs, however, they are heavier than most. It is very noticeable so if you have an issue with that recommend graphite shafts. They are very easy to hit but like any iron, if you hit it fat or thin, that is the result you will get. Found them to be about 10 to 15 yards shorter throughout the set, making distance control an issue until you get use to their tendencies. A good or average stuck shot yields great results and I was often surprised at the end result when I know it was not a textbook swing. The ball works back to center as if you are working the ball, even though I know it was the club. I was even able to hit the longer irons (that's a 5 today) with good results. If you are a slicer these will keep you more to the center and even a little left. But those of you who do not like "clunkiness" in terms of heft in your irons may want to look elsewhere. But you cannot argue with the performance of these clubs. Customer Service Not used. Similar Products Used: Top Flite Magna's (real old school)

I was a little nervios getting these clubs as I had not hit them much before the buy. I was warned that Ben Hogan was a players club and that I would have trouble. The truth is that they are not as forgiving as say the Nike Slingshot, but fo me, I am happy about that.

Ben Hogan Edge CFT Irons
The edge cft is the best iron set I ever used, they are very forgiving, but they seem feel very heavy if you use steel shaft, so I recommend to you graphite shaft for beginner. These clubs make very straight shots but a little bit difficult to shape your shots. Similar Products Used: Cleveland TA7, Wilson Deep Red |

Hogan Edge CFT Graphite 3 Shaft
Approximately six months ago I purchased a set of CFT Graphite clubs from our local pro shop. I found the CFT's to be well balanced and great for my game, however I was shocked when after 2 weeks the shaft of the 3 iron snapped at the hosel. I had this replaced, but over the next 8 weeks, i again broke the 3,4,5 and 3 shafts again, all at the hosel. Hogans answer was to put their stiff graphite shafts, the shafts were the more expensive shafts they fir into their other clubs. These were unplayable for my swing and made what I thought were perfect clubs into a nightmare. I took these back after 1 game and they then fitted steel shafts, I have played with these for last 4 months and have given up on these due to soreness in the right elbow. To say I am dissapointed in the response from Hogan would be an understatement, the quality of the head is outstanding, the quality of the shafts is terrible. I do not understand why a company such as Hogan sells a product that cannot work with the shafts that are fitted. Customer Service The service tried to help but cound not fix an obvious design or fitting fault. Similar Products Used: Callaway X14 Callaway Hawkeys |

Hogan Edge CFT 3-E
I had been using old Ping clones that my uncle had given me some years ago. 2005 was the year that I decided to buy a whole new set. So, after a demo day at my local driving range, I had it narrowed down to either the Hogan Edge CFT or the BH-5. I found the CFT's on Ebay for $265, so I jumped on it. And I am quite glad that I did. That was back in April, and now that I've had a whole summer to use them, I feel that now I have a good opinion of them. Others have said that it hits the ball very high. I will agree with this, but it doesn't hit it as high as some other game improvement clubs out there (like Callaway's BB or Nike's Slingshot). Ball flight is straight, though, and you really have to be doing something incredibly wrong to shank the ball. It doesn't have too much offset, but it does have some that might give the better player some trouble. The Ti face does have a certain "hotness" to it, and feels like butter when struck correctly. Taking divots with this club is also easy, as the sole prevents digging a pool right in the middle of the fairway. They can work the ball a bit as well, but my ballflight is a natural draw. Concerning appearance, all I can say is that any Ben Hogan golf club is going to look very nice. It just has this classic look to it, even though it is a game improvement club. I would recommend this club to the serious golfer who wants forgiveness but without swinging a spade. Customer Service The rep at the demo day was far more helpful to me than the others. Since, I haven't had to use their service, but my first impression from their rep left me with a good feeling that they care about their products as Hogan once did. These are exceptional irons! I purchased a set "lightly used" off of Ebay for $190 after reading the other reviews on here. The remarks about these irons "shredding" the balls is true..at least with the short irons. I had to clean off pieces of the balls out of the grooves after striking them. But they do grab the ball and put a wicked spin on them. Although not the buttery feel of conventional forged irons, they do have a nice feel to them...especially when struck right. Even with my typical fade, these irons did a better job of trying to keep the ball straight and in the fairway. They have an excellent appearance and I seemed to get more distance out of these irons than previous ones I've played. Definitely a quality set of irons. They can be pretty high priced (at least to me) but if you shop hard, you can get a great deal on them. Customer Service Not needed. just recently decided to play golf again and picked these clubs up used @ a great price. APPEARANCE: confidence inspiring for a new golfer like myself. hogan clubs seem to be of great quality and exceptional value compared to similair offerings out there. PLAY: these clubs hit HIGH. extremely high. the Ti face really seems to give the ball serious pop @ impact. very forgiving clubs, unless you really mess up. decent feel to the clubs, but they don't have that smooth feel like some forged clubs, or more bladed clubs i had the chance to demo when choosing used clubs. I think it has to do with the hot, Ti face. nice, smooth swings are rewarded with towering shots and a pronounced 'click' at impact. PW & SW from the set are tough to dial in on short chips, again because of the face i believe. The face has a tendency to chew through balls quickly. the grooves cut in the face are very pronounced and very sharp. they can be felt with your fingers. short irons are very easy to stick the landing with as 7-sw will usually only bounce once. apex edge #4 shaft is stiff by BH standards but a bit more flexible than the rifled 5.5's i have now. all in all, these clubs are a great deal considering what elese is in the price range. even better @ used or ebay prices. if you have a faster swing speed you may find the shaft a bit too soft. and ball flight can be too high in windy conditions or if you are used to getting more roll with your irons. the biggest downside for me was the # of balls i skinned using these things. Customer Service each and every time i had a question for the BH staff, i was thoroughly impressed with their honest, helpful advice. if and when my swing gets more consistant i may come back to BH for the FTX irons.
