I find these clubs to be extremely forgiving and long. The 3 and 4 irons are very playable to the point hybrids are not even necessary. The 5 thru E are straight and offer very good green holding spin from 200 to green. A good investment if you can find them used or, if fortunate, fresh in the box. Customer Service Haven't used, but the Ben Hogan website is still running through Callaway. Similar Products Used: Callaway X-18 |

I've had a poor year by my standards. Up until 2007 I could regularly shoot in the 70's until I changed my clubs to a set of Ping G10'S. As a result my handicap has gone upto 7. Anyway, I have since got rid of the Pings and purchased a set of Ben Hogan CFT's for £120 on ebay. They are only 4 weeks old and all I can say is that I love them. My old draw is back and I am able to hit the 4/5 iron with reniewed confidence. Dont be fooled by these clubs, they are the real deal. Its a crying shame that Hogan are now owned by Callaway - and that these clubs are no longer made. I would say that these clubs fall into the 'forgiving category' and would suit the low to mid handicap golfer. |

I can shoot in the 80's, but haven't been out there as much lately. I have been a huge PING fan since the age of 11. It took some level of fortitude to give up my Zings, but after hitting these I'm having a hard time looking back. The swing through is pure and the distance gained is huge. I've always wanted my ball to fly like the tour players...for the first time ever I've seen my ball rise gradually and land softly - oh what a buttery smooth feel. I think these are the most under estimated clubs on the market!!! Anyone who can score a set for under $200 should do it. I've hit Titleist, Bridgestone, Ping, Taylor Made, Adams and Cobra. The other brands and other models seek to either offer great forgiveness or great feel and shapability. With the Titanium insert I think the only clubs that could be better are thre I10 and/or G10 by PING. Happy Golfing! Customer Service bought used - have no clue. Also I hear Callaway owns them and has discontinued them. I think Callaway should reconsider. Similar Products Used: Ping Zing, Custom Tungsten Heel - Toe balanced irons. |

Ben Hogan Edge CFT Irons
I play to a 8 handicap. I've been using the Cobra Carbon CB irons (similar to Villegas's 3 iron) stiff shaft for over a year now. I was looking in the market for a different set of irons. My club pro Ben Mundle plays Ben hogan. I checked the internet and found this practically new Ben Hogan Edge CFT irons regular shaft. Got them for a bargain. Took them to the range yesterday and boy was i surprised. the irons are long and straight. Good hits reward you with a nice sound and good distance. Mis-hits are not as long but they're still straight as hell. i loved the 6 iron the best averaging 190-200 yards. If there's anyone out there looking for irons in between super game improvement and blades, this is it baby. By the time i was done with hitting the balls, i was convinced Ben Hogan was a Japanese. No one can make such forgiving irons as japanese do so now it gets me to think that ben hogans name must have been ben hogano. Super super clubs. Customer Service Never needed them Similar Products Used: Taylormade Rac, Cobra S9, Cobra Carbon CB, Yamaha Inpres, Nike NDS |

I have a set of the Apex Edge and hit them side by side with my CFTs today. At address they have similar topline but I noticed that the CFT is just a bit more compact which I didn't expect. There is a huge difference in these clubs due primarily to the compression forged titanium face of the CFT. The sweet spot seems far larger and they fly further without a doubt. I also noted that misses are more forgiven and with no shock to your senses. Overall the Edge CFT is a great set with considerable game improvement character and a refreshingly sophisticated look compared to the gaudy and blingy counterparts from the other OEMs. It's a shame the Hogan line is being allowed to fade out. Oh, I almost forgot, picking a like new set up for $39 made this a total no risk decision. After using them I would have readily paid more.

I bought these irons before Hogan sold to Callaway. Have been playing with them for 5 years. Tried other irons in this catagory and have not yet been convinced that they are that much better. Very happy with the feel and spin. When hit in the sweet spot has the feel of a forged iron, smoothe and buttery. I have steel shafts and get pretty accurate and consistant results. If you are going to get a used set of clubs these clubs are unmatched in my opinion both in price and overall satisfaction. |

I am an average weekend golfer playing for almost over a year now. Started off with a cheap used set bought from a local seller (Nick Price steel blades).

Great irons. I spent a lot of time last winter researching different irons to improve my game. I was looking for a smaller, "classy" looking iron with minimal offset. I found the right set. Can I claim a great amount of improvement in my game.... no, I don't spend enough time at it. If you're the average weekend golfer who needs an accurate club that really doesn't give up a great amount, if any, distance then this is the right set. I've always loved playing irons and this is the final set. I now LOVE Hogan clubs, bought my 7 year old the matching Jr. set. Been playing these for 5 months, no trouble. Hopefully Calloway will start pushing Hogans to the public, they're sitting on a goldmine. Bottomline, I have faith in my irons. Always loved hitting a 3 iron and I can make it go.... far. Bought the sand wedge seperately, but I need the gap wedge to rep[lace my Ping M/B 52 wedge to make the set complete. If you only purchase 1 extra club, get the gap wedge before the sand wedge. Did I mention the lovely chrome finish.... wow. If you are not completely wrapped up in names but demand the best in the range between "players" irons and shovels, this is the right one. Went from the Callway X-12 to these Irons. Couldn't pass up the deal of $120 nearly new in condition. Was looking for an iron that was as easy to hit as the X12's but better looking at address. FOUND IT! Very Easy to hit, very ACCURATE!, a tad shorter, but the Ball bites HARD on the green. But groves do chew through a Pro-V in one round. Not as much a game improvement iron, but a "best of both worlds" iron. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Customer Service Excellent! They live up to the reputation of Ben Hogan. Very forgiving with a large sweet spot. Has a "feel" when you hit it well. Not the longers irons I've owned but what I loose in distance can't compare to the accuracy. Highly recommended for the weekend golfer but has help lower my handicap 10 strokes in 3 years. Similar Products Used: Callaway X-12, Ping I3, Tommy Armour 845s |
