I'm working away from home and don't have my Ping irons with me. I found a set of Hogan CFT Edge irons online for a great price, and decided to buy them so I could play a couple rounds. I'll be selling my old irons the moment I get back. These CFTs are unbelievably forgiving. I had no idea what people were talking about when they said "like butter" until I hit these irons. So smooth and extremely straight, even with off-center contact. Great set for mid to high handicappers like myself.

Bought these on EBay...at first I thought they were clunky buit after a few rounds found them to be very forgiving and I was very surprised at the outcome of some poorly struck short irons...ended up stiff...I am 62 years old and have been a single digit handicap since age 13, hence I've played blades all of my life...Now I suppose I need more forgiveness and man o man do I have it in this set...tried to go back to Mizuno blades after using these and had no confidence in them anymore...the Edge CFT's have won me over...I bought 5-E and have also bought the 3 and 4 CFT Hybrids...man are they ever a great club...but thats another review for another time

I have been playing the CFT irons for the past several years and have really come to love their feel and looks. I am left handed and finally managed to obtain the ultra-rare F iron,(50 degree gap wedge), and the even rarer 55 Degree matching left handed sand wedge to complete the set. I often play the matching CFT hybrids, 2-5, and find them to be very easy to hit and to control. Often I just play the 3-5 irons instead of the hybrids and they are also very easy clubs to hit, very long and straight and forgiving. I have tried some fo the newer irons on the market, but honestly see no advantage in shelling out more money for the newer models. The CFTs have as much technology in them as anything else on the market today, as far as I am concerned. The lightweight forged titanium face insert allows more weight to be moved back and to the perimeter and the irons are as forgiving as anything on the market. The Hogans have no fancy gimmicks, just good, solid design and beautiful construction. No one makes or ever made a better looking iron than Hogan. Its a pitty Callaway bought the name and then killed it. Hogans are still some of the best irons ever made, and the CFTs are probably the most forgiving Hogan irons of all. I love mine. I'm 66 years old, and have been playing since I was 12, so I've seen a lot of golf clubs. But to me, the Hogan CFTs are my best to date. They are keepers. It's rare to find irons that play so well, and look so nice. They are truly jewels.

Will somebody please get Callaway Golf to bring the Hogan line back! I play the CFT 2-6 irons and Apex blades for 7-Equalizer. The CFT long and mids are a joy to hit. The titanium face just launches solid hits and mis-hits. I have all the confidence in the world when setting them up. I recently found a set of unused CFT's with the shrink wrap still on them at a garage sale. Couldn't believe my luck. The scoring irons do chew up the covers of ProV's and my beloved Srixon Tour Yellows. I prefer a forged scoring iron anyway.
I don't care what your handicap is, these irons will crush the ball and you'll love to see the ball long, high ball flight.
Please bring back Hogan golf!!!

I shoot in the 90’s thanks to these sweet clubs!

I have been playing golf for 2 years now and I was having trouble controlling my iron shots. I play division 1 ice hockey and I’m not sure of the cross over but my drive is great and I get a lot of feeling through the driver (Callaway iq ft) and my the same for my putter but not with the irons I was using (Tour Special entry level). I got these second hand and at first sight I thought I had made a big mistake, the appearance of these is a bit old school. After a few practice lounge room swings a began to understand the difference. Like my putter these clubs remain square and level due to the weighting at the back of the cavity, it’s a nice feeling, even with one hand it seems to swing square to the ball.

On the course: first hit was a bit of a shock because I could feel the ball, never had that with an iron. After the front 9 I had these things dialed in, all I had to do was stay square to the pin and the clubs did the rest. These are forgiving on the toe but on the heal the shots, while straight, fall shorter and flat.

After 3 months I can now hit a draw and fade, my confidence on the fairway has had a massive boost and I recently hit a 91 so with a Hogan dvd I hope I can get to the 80’s!

I would recommend these clubs to players developing or fans of a traditional looking club, they may not have all the tech stuff but like a classic car, some things are just right.

I did test the TaylorMade Burner, and Mizuno MP-57. The Mizuno's are very similar but way to much $$ for me, the Burner are a bit to tech for me.

Bought recently on ebay for £64 new, so got an amazing bargain . So far played 3 times with these clubs ,shots go high and very straight ,ball bounces once then stops .As a high handicapper I was worried that these clubs would be less forgiving than the La Jolla OS irons I was using before. I had no need to worry as they are very easy to hit straight and give good feedback when hit off the sweet spot.The longer irons are also easy to hit .Ben Hogan clubs are high quality and very good value for money at present . I recommend them to anyone looking for a great set of irons .
