If you are looking for a game improvement club with a feel and forgiveness that is hard to believe, you must try the new Ben Hogan Apex Edge. Having owned and enjoyed a set of the original Edges since '93 I wanted to try the new version against what the rest of the market. I demoed the clubs at the range on at least six occasions and compared them against everything the demo shop had to offer. Some of the other reviews are interesting because before buying I narrowed the potentials down to the new Edges, the Ping i3 Oversize, and the Nicklaus VCG's. If you are in the market for new clubs you might want to compare these three also. The Edges won out at the range and have continued to prove themselves in the four rounds I have played this year. The only negative is that they are a little on the expensive side, particularly with the graphite shafts. If you can get by the cost though you should definately try these clubs out! BH Apex Edge
This is my first time for forged iron and have not had a chance to take it to the course. In the driving range they seem to produce shorter distance than my Ping I3 over size. I hit iron 5 at 160 yrds but with Apex Edge I hit only 130 yrds. Anyone can tell me why? My guess is that they might be too light for me (mine are in graphite) so there is no adding power to my swing. Furthermore when I try to speed up my swing to get the regular distance. it end up shank and mis-hit. How should I hit correctly. Similar Products Used: Ping I3 O-size |
