Titleist 975F Fairway Woods

Titleist 975F Fairway Woods

DESCRIPTION

The 975F is the ultimate combination of size and weighting in a fairway metal, producing a sweet, solid feel and sound. The lower center of gravity and increased face roll provide the proper launch angle and easy-up playability. The internal weighting is forward biased to reduce spin and produce a flatter downrange trajectory, the hallmark of all Titleist 975F fairway metals. The leading edge is beveled and radiused and the sole is crowned along the center for playability from all types of lies.

this is the best 3 wood out there in my opinion. It has great sound, feel, and distance ,but the titleist shaft sucks. So I had a Graffoly shaft put in it. Now I love it.

I'm pretty happy with this club so far. It has great feel and a good solid sound at impact. Some of the reviews I've read make it seem like this club is unforgiving for all but those with perfect swings. In my opinion, if you can hit any fairway wood with consistency, then you will enjoy hitting one of these (I do agree that better swings are better rewarded). The 18.5 gets the ball up in the air in a hurry, and the ball flight is surprisingly high (higher than an old 22 degree 5 wood I own)but still pretty long. This club is in the same price range as the Callaway Steelhead Plus, which I tried. The Titleist is a much nicer, more solid feeling club which produces better results. The price ($150) isn't too bad as far as top-quality fairway woods go these days(E-bay excluded). All in all, this club gets the job done and I would recommend it.

Very nice club, I'm 6'7, so I got a little length added w/ X100 shafts. Distance is farther than my T-zoid. I'm getting 265-275 off the tee with the 13 & 225 with the 18.5. Working the ball is easy, esp. w/ the X100's. Its probably geared for the better golfer, but anyone can hit it..it will force you to swing better.

I was a little skeptical about trading in my Mizuno Forged 5 wood that I never ever use fer this, but now I'm glad I did. What I needed was a 5/7 wood that had a steel shaft, and I found one that's cheap too. I'm not sure what year model this is because I don't know the difference (someone please email me telling me..) between the 99 er 2000 version whatever... .. .

But anyway yeah this fairway metal is great. The first day I used it, however I had mixed results. I hit two low hooks, then I pushed a high one to the right, but then on 18 I hit a perfectly straight one onto and over the green. But the next day I used it at MacKenzie at Haggin Oaks IN Sacramento I got used to it. I'm able to hit relatively mid-to-high draws with ease (perhaps my swing was better than the other day). As the reviewer below me said, the face may be a little too small. It's like U have to hit it perfect or ELSE... well that dusn't really matter. Anyway this has a great feel to it though. I think it has the thin feel of titanium without the 'clink', instead it has a 'click'. Distance control is nice too. Overall a well-balanced club with the slick looks of the 975D minimized and perfect weighting.

For me these fairway woods are very easy to hit and I can do so on a consistent basis. Much better than the Tight Lies SC I had before (horrible sound to that club!). The weighting with the stiff steel shafts makes you feel like you can take an easy swing and the club will do the rest. I am not a great golfer, but I think if you have a functionally sound swing you won't have any trouble with these. I have had them all season and the only other fairway wood I have found comparable was my Ping ISI Tour woods, but that is another story. Give them a try, if the small head size scares you stay away. Nothing like a tense swing to destroy your game.

If only their customer service was as good as their products. Much better experiences with Wilson and Taylor Made!

Club is great. Hit it reasonably close to the sweet spot and you will love it. Beautiful trajectory. Long, easy to hit of the deck, easy to work. Classic lines. That's not the problem. See customer service!!!

After owning it for a week the EI70 shaft cracked under the grip when I was hitting balls. I brought it back to the dealer. He said the Titleist rep informed him the it would have to be re-shafted and it would take a month. Well 1 and 1/2 months later it comes back still not fixed. They say there is nothing wrong with it. Problem is that when you swing it you can hear the graphite cracking. The dealer was so pissed he snapped the shaft right in front of the rep. It ended up that the dealer had to eat it and reshafted it himself. As far as I'm concerned Titelist should have given me a new one right away. It was a full two months until I got my club back and the club was only two weeks old. for 275.00 I expect more.

I have the 975D so naturally I thought the 975f would be perfect for me. At first I was terrible at hitting the fairway wood. Either I would hit a push slice or a hook...I couldn't control it. Then one day, I spend time at the range to learn how to hit it. All I had to do was to work on my hand-eye coordination to make sure I could hit the sweet spot. Now I can hit a fade or a draw on command. Now that I can hit this club, I can attack the par 5's with confidence. And for all those who are 15 handicaps or lower, you know how important it is to hit draws and fades on command. This is the most accurate wood I have ever hit. I am so glad I didn't give up on it. Now I hit all my other clubs better because I concentrate on keeping my eye on the ball so I make clean contact most of the time. THIS IS FOR SERIOUS GOLFERS ONLY!!! I just have to get my putts down (38/round) and I will be shooting in the 70's soon! If you are a hacker, buy callaway...if you are serious about golf, buy titleist!

Nice ball flight. My 14.5 has the grafalloy fairway while the 18.5 runs a stiff steel shaft. Both have bailed me out quite a bit and play nice and straight. My driver now collects dust in the basement, why risk trouble for an extra 15 yrds? I've found that I need to swing the club quite a bit more than I have others in the past to really get the feel for it. If I don't play or hit a few buckets for a few weeks I struggle with these woods the next time back, while others I've owned in the past were easy to get back to.

Picked both up on ebay unused for $150 for both. Can't beat that!

This club allows me to reach the par 5's in 2 from fairway wood distances. Very consistent - especially with the steel shaft with little sacrifice in distance. Highly recommended.

Traded some old Cleveland TA 5's for this club. Great club. Hit fairways all day. Club feels sweet off the tee as well as off the fairway. Sacraficed little distance when using it off the the tee compared to GBB Driver(ball carried 250+). Nice sound when stuck well, dosen't sound like a Easton softball bat.
