Titleist 975F Fairway Woods

Titleist 975F Fairway Woods

DESCRIPTION

The 975F is the ultimate combination of size and weighting in a fairway metal, producing a sweet, solid feel and sound. The lower center of gravity and increased face roll provide the proper launch angle and easy-up playability. The internal weighting is forward biased to reduce spin and produce a flatter downrange trajectory, the hallmark of all Titleist 975F fairway metals. The leading edge is beveled and radiused and the sole is crowned along the center for playability from all types of lies.

I bought this club on the recommendation of my father (a 10 handicap) who raved about it. I used it for almost 2 years before finally giving up on it. I found it difficult to get the ball airborn with this club (and at times used my 12 degree TaylorMade driver out of the fairway instead to get loft) and I never seemed to be able to hit it accurate.

This is by far the best fairway wood in the game of golf. People who say that it is a bad club and how you need to hit the ball perfect to have it go anywhere, are deff. lying about their handicap. Its obvious. THis is one of the easiest clubs in my bag. I also play witht he Titleist 975J 9.5* diver and the Titleist 731PM and this is the best set up I have ever played with. You better go to you're closest pro shop and get teh 975F while supplies last!

Model Reviewed: Titleist 975F 16.5*

I have struggled for the past season with my Cleveland Launcher fairway woods (13* and 17*). I like the distance and hit them solid but continually hook them to the point where I will not hit them at all if there is trouble left. I recently borrowed a Titelist 14.5* 975F with the Titleist stock shaft (stiff)from a friend. It took some getting used to, but once I did, I loved it. It has a small head, which I like, especially off the deck. What I found was that the 14.5* club was too long (240-250). So I recently bought the 16.5* with the stiff Graffoloy shaft and love it. It goes about 230-235 with an excellent lower-than-average trajectory, which is exactly what I was looking for. I don't think the club is that hard to hit. It looks great and sets up square, which was the biggest thing for me. The Launchers set up closed and I found out after writing to Cleveland that the clubs are are 1* closed. With the Graffoloy stiff shaft, I can take a pretty good swing at the ball without worrying about a big hook. I don't have a lot of experience with the club yet, but so far so good.

I stumbled on to this site and began using it to research different clubs; great tool...anyway, all the reviews have basically been dead on: low boring, trajectory, forgiveness off the toe, but most importantly great visually on the set up...I have the 975D and it's great; I can work the ball with both clubs ...I do feel that Titleist's slogan and reputation does scare off higher handicappers, but I feel this club can be used throughout...it's longer than my TM Tour Spoon (13*)and 230+ off the ground brings new confidence to my game...it was a steal at $70

Model Reviewed: 975F 14.5 deg

I have 14.5 deg with stock ultralite shaft. Looks fantastic and delivers strong, penetrating flight with a fair amount of roll. I found after playing Callaway clubs I tended to close the face making it hard to hit, but with a bit of extra practice am now hitting nice shots. Not as forgiving as Callaways but better feel and flight. Have matching JVS driver too.

Not many clubs available to demo in left hand so I bought this off the back of the reviews on this site. Found it on an auction and got it for only £48 ($70). When it goes it really does go but I have struggled with it a bit but I know this is my swing not the club! Looking forward to really getting comfortable with it and enjoying it. Sits nice and I like the traditional size and shape. I also have the 975D driver so this complements it very well. Something of an aquired taste I think.

awesome club- it doesnt really matter where you hit it. i do hook about one in fifteen, but not too much of a problem. i dont understand how you couldnt hit this club. the head is small and a little scary to hit, but its a rocket. i got the graffaloy shaft which was a little pricy but i dont care. i am considering either getting the 5 wood or a 2 iron. great club!

Left the F series to go to the Callaway SH3 for a very short time - these sticks are simply the best available. Using the Graffaloy S shafts in all. Distance shrinks off heel and toe but they still hold the line well. Low boring flight is not only long but fun to watch. Use the 12.5 in place of a driver - % of fairways has increased dramatically. Don't carry the 14.5 or 18.5 much - the 4 deg spread in the remaining heads works best for me. Don't let all the talk of "must be a low HC" to play - NOT TRUE

Superb fairway wood! Penetrating trajectory and very forgiving. Easy to hit off the fairway and even easier off the tee. This is my go to club when accuracy is at a premium. I was very surprised with the forgiveness. Highly recommended!
