TaylorMade V Steel Fairway Woods

TaylorMade V Steel Fairway Woods

DESCRIPTION

A fairway wood should be long, accurate, and versatile. Taylor Made's V Steel fairway woods deliver all three of these essentials, thanks in large part to their V-shaped sole that improves the dynamics of how the sole interacts with the turf at impact.

If you are looking for DEADLY accuracy, and the ability to hit a 3-wood from suspect lies...this is the club for you. It's the best club I've ever owned. I've always been inconsistent with drivers/3-woods...and I suffered to many penalties as a result. This club will cut 4-5 strokes off my game simply by keeping me in play. Distance is solid...I hit driver 280-290 (but all over the place). I hit this 3-wood about 250-260 consistently...and almost always within 10 yards of my target. If I could give a higher score than 5, I would!

I tried this club for the first time today as part of my search for a three wood. Spent 2hrs at the range and have to say was dissapointed. Ball tended to balloon and distance was below average. Feel was fine, but no real zing to these - might have been the stock shaft, which at stiff was to soft for me. Tested Cleveland launcher yesterday - which was far superior in distance and feel.

WOW. These are now the easiest clubs to hit in my bag. Amazing consistancy, good distance, great feel and straight as an arrow. The V-sole does a incredible job of helping the club get the ball up. This club has to be one of the sweetest looking clubs i've seen. With these and the R580 in my bag i now fear no par 5.

I couldn't wait any longer for the Titliest 980 fairway woods. I purchased the V with the stock graphite Stiff shaft. After hitting the V for the last few days has been owesome. Really easy to work the ball either direction. The stock shaft seems to be OK. I will play a little longer to decide if I want to change shafts, but for now its working. I would hardly doubt if Titleist could match the V, but I guess we will see.

Model Reviewed: Taylormade V-Steel 3 Wood

I had my 200 steel 3 wood stolen and so popped down the local shop to purchase a replacement, now i loved my 200 but when in the shop noticed that Taylormade had just released their new addition to the fairway wood range, the V-Steel, it looked great so i thought i would give it a go in the range. They gave me the V-stell, 200 series, Titleist 975F and Deep Red II. Off i went thinking that i would obviously end up with my beloved 200 series. After about 10 mins of pure joy i put down the V-steel and got some more balls to hit. 25 mins had passed and i still had not hit any of the other clubs. I didn't bother. I went straight home and logged online to order the 15* V-Steel. The next day it arrived and i am absolutely delighted with it. It looks great, feels great and is great. Infact the missus has asked me to leave it in the golf bag at night as it is starting to prod her in the back (atleast she thinks its the wood). All do yourselves a favour, if your reading this then you are interested in the new V-steel, give it a go you will not be dissapointed.
