Model Reviewed: Supersteel 5 wood R-80 Bubble shaft

I bought the Supersteel irons last month(love them, see other review)and needed a 5 wood so I got mine in time for a Myrtle Beach trip. I'm inconsistent with my fairway woods but I'm doing much better now with the Supersteel. I had a 275 yard tee shot the first day on the course!! Very forgiving and I like the way it sounds at impact. You can get them for $210 at discountgolf.com.

I bought the 3 wood with a steel rifle shaft for $179.99. I had been hitting the ping tisi driver and a callaway steelhead driver off of the tee. I have played three rounds using nothing but the new supersteel 3 off of the tee and I cannot believe the results. With the ping I was getting 260 to 280 yards but not always in the direction I wanted. The supersteel 3 has been giving me 240 to 260 off the tee with a beautiful draw and is ten times easier to keep in play. Instead of hoping I end up in the fairway I am now dumfounded when I'm not in the fairway. I have full confidence in this club and it rewards me long and straight every time. I have tried all the top manufacturer's newest but nothing and I mean nothing compares to this club. Sweeeeet!!! Don't go for the graphite, the rifle shaft is just too perfect!

Model Reviewed: super steel 3 wood tour

I went to the pro shop at the driving range and tried every "name brand" 3 wood they carried. Several buckets later I ended up buying the tour 3 wood with the S90 shaft. It's not something I thought I would have liked- it's orange and makes an unusual hollow sound. 6 months later I still, perhaps even more, like the club. Its key feature for me is the ball flight- as a high ball hitter- I strangely hit this club/shaft combination with a penetrating ball flight- it is sneaky long and I hit it even further into the wind than my Ping Ti. Overall a fantastic 3 wood of the tee, but slightly more difficult to use of the deck. Great value for money- probably becuase the clubs are not that popular.

I was looking for distance and control /workability off the tee ,and a driver i could hit off the fairway when needed, i found it! I had to get used to the graphite shaft though.I play forged head steel shafted irons ,so you have to let the club catch up and my faster swing path 110 ish ,doesnt seem to torque out and send me into the boonies.Very stable club and a nice classic looking head ,matches my set nicely!

Product is excellent, I cracked one 280 Yards with it yesterday and it's useable from the fairway. This represents Very Good Value for Money and is Usable by all. Overall, a very attractive club with a Price To Match. Highly Reccomended.

Model Reviewed: Superteel 3 Wood (graphite)

Damn, I love this thing! I wanted a versatile 3 wood I could hit off the turf and the tee, since I'm too erratic with my Trimetal driver. The low-profile (Orlimar, Adams, etc.) woods are fine for turf, but this club works better off the tee for me.

Great feel, easy to swing, and good distance (240-250 yards on my best drives). I love spanking this thing off the fairway - it just sizzles when I get a hold of one.

Great overall club in a variety of roles.

Well you want to know what I think of these things, no you don't. I heard that they were good clubs. So of course I went and bought a set of the woods. I hit them twice and they didn't go ten yards well the balls didn't anyway. But that 3 wood went about fifty yards in the lake and that 5 wood is hanging in my garden shed.

It's hard to find good product for a lefty, but Taylor Made has the goods. I purchased the TM SS 5 wood r-80 steel shaft and love it. I hit more fairways and can attach more greens in regulation with this club. I hit it 230 on avg which is fine for me. The flight is straight and long. The last round I played I hit almost every green in reg using this club even long par 5's because I drives are 230 off the tee and second shot is 200 to 215 off the deck setting up a short third shot to the green. If you are thinking of buying a fairway wood please give the SS a try.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made Supersteel Tour 4 wood

Taylor Made Supersteel Tour 4 Wood with UST ProForce 65 Stiff Shaft. I got lucky and found this on Ebay from a clubfitter who has access to the TM Tour Van. I called TM about it and they confirmed they made them in limited numbers for pros ie not available for sale to the public. I had a SS 5 wood with a bubble shaft that I liked a lot, but I needed to get a stiff shaft so I sold it. I found this one but it also had a regular shaft and the clubfitter offered to put a UST in it so here we are. The head is about the same size as the 5 wood and has a slightly lower profile (maybe 1/8 inch.) There is no "power band" on top of the clubhead, it's completely smooth. It feels a little heavier than the stock 5 wood and has one degree less loft (17 deg vice 18 for 5 wood.) I've tried a lot of different fairway woods but really like the way the Supersteel sets up and I can hit it a ton. I get a consistent 250-260 from a draw and it's very accurate (swing speed is 100). I'm sure no on tour is playing it...probably why I found this one ;) but it works for me!! The UST proforce shaft is awesome. You hear people talking about how the shaft is the engine of the club and the UST must have come out of a Ferrari! Of course the club is a bit odd looking with a purple and gold shaft on a copper head but I love it. I have also had a SS 3 wood with a rifle shaft that was very nice. They are all forgiving and accurate, an excellent club for mid to high handicappers (I'm a 17 handicap.) Hit'em straight.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made Supersteel 3 Wood Stiff Steel Shaft

I've owned the 15* 3 wood with stiff Rifle shaft for nine months now. Extremely nice club. Feel at impact is very solid, somewhat similar to the original Callaway Steelheads but without the face caving in problem. Beware that trajectory is much lower than other 3 woods. Because it's not low profile, it's perfect off the tee but harder to hit off the fairway. This club is perfect for someone looking for a 3 wood to use in lieu of a driver off the tee (like me) or for those who tend to hit the ball high. I've hit a lot of 3 woods (OEM and component), and this one feels the best to me.
