15 degree Ram Concept low profile scoring wood with tempoweight shaft. When I first got this club I could hardly see the head it was so far away. The shaft length must have been 45 plus inches making it more of a whip than a golf club. I'm 5'11". I also checked out lengths of the other high end clubs in this catagory at the local golf shop, which mostly turned out to be close to 43 inches. Needless to say I had it cut down to 43 1/2 inches (measured from the butt to the lowest point of the sole of the head) and then changed the grip to a golf pride tour wrap (midsize because I have large hands). The change in length, toe lead weight(see below) and grip ended me up with a swingweight of about D2 (with the 5 or 6 gram tip weight still in the bottom of the shaft). I swing at about 85-90 mph and found out that I hit this best with a three gram piece of lead weight attached to the bottom toe area of the head. Tragectory is great and it lands fairly soft, with an average of 200 yards and a reasonably tight dispersion pattern. Also a good idea for everyone out there to learn about shaft spineing as most graphite shafts are not equally stiff as you rotate them around thus changing frequency (flex rating) depending if the head is attached with the spine, against the spine or worse yet on a spine angle (hooks or slices). Manufacturers always automatically put the shaft logo on top or bottom. This is a real big deal that I find out most people are not even aware of. In conclusion, I had to mess around a bit but am very pleased with the outcome. Buy it (it's cheap) change it, then go out and slam it. Don't be afraid to mess around with lead tape on any of your clubs. Keep it in the short grass everyone. See ya. RAM Concept Low Profile 23*
I had been very inconsistent with my fairway woods. Some days just great and others - well, don't even ask. I bought this club based on the reviews and it has performed every bit the equal to the other clubs I have owned and tried. It sets up and squares to the target very well and the distance and accuracy is absolutely there - 205 Yds and soft landings. I did an inexpensive swap of a Grafalloy Regular Flex AttackLite shaft from a club that I was never again going to use and had a Lamkin grip installed to replace the slick original. Didn't do the shaft change because of any weakness I did this to match the 3 Wood that I carry and was not disappointed. Decided to order the RAM 15* Fairway Wood and will make the same changes as I did to the 23* wood when it comes in tomorrow. I've gotta tell you that the quality of the head is wonderful and the sound matches the fury. The ball gets up in the air, travels and sets down nicely. Now my bag is set, at least for awhile, 9* Nicklaus Driver, 13* & 23* Fairwoods and my Revolution Irons. I am ready to really lower the scores. Suggest you try the woods - they'll fool you if you just try to judge them on price alone. Similar Products Used: Adams Tight Lies, Orlimar Tri-Metals |

I have been playing golf for a while, and trust me, this isn't a good fairway wood. The company boasts that the ball gets more backspin and higher trajectory. Well, if they knew anything about woods then they would know that that the distance is equally horrible. I kid you not, I could hit my 4 iron farther than this club. However, the price is good compared to other products for what you're getting!!! They should be giving these away!. Used orlimars with graphite are 70-100$ at golfclubtrader.com. An even better wood is the new supersteel. Don't waste your time with ram. Similar Products Used: Orlimar, Steelhead+, Supersteel (best ever), adams (also quite good) |

Ram Concept 3 Wood
Like many mid-handicappers, I prefer to use fairway woods to long irons. This club is an excellent choice given the relatively low cost and great performance. I can play both draw and fade shots off the tee and off the deck with this club using a regular flex shaft. Distance is better than the Ping I gave up and forgiveness factor is high. An excellent choice and one of the only clubs in the bag that I no longer worry about replacing. Let Orlimar and Adams and the others keep bringing out the latest and greatest, but I'm sold for the duration. Ram Low Concept fairway woods
I use the 13, 18, and 23 degree woods and they are the sweetest hitting clubs that I have ever played with. I bought the 13 degree first to use primarily off the tee on tight holes. I use the stiff shaft and consistently get 250-265 yards off the tee and not a lot less off the turf. I was so impressed with the 13 that I went back and bought the 18 and 23 degrees. I am no less impressed with them and urge anyone considering fairway woods not to buy anything till you try these. They are long and straight, and price-wise, they cannot be touched. I honestly feel that if they were more expensive you would hear more golfers singing their praises. But if you are like me and like to get your moneys worth...give these a try. The way golf equipment is priced these days, these are worth much more than they cost. Customer Service none Similar Products Used: No need. |

Ram Concept 5 wood
I am a beginning golfer, putting together a set of clubs. I tried an Adams Tight Lies, an Orlimar Tri-Metal and and a Cleveland Quadpro at a store before deciding to go with the very helpful comments on this page, spend less than half the money and buy this wood untested from an e-tailer, gball.com. I am *very* satisfied. While my skill level doesn't allow me to be very demanding, I can say that almost immediately I felt very comfortable with this club, and in my first two times out with it, have had a great percentage of hitting the ball very straight, with good loft, reasonably long, from the tee, from the fairway and from the rough. It is hands down much better than my fellow beginner and good pal's Tour Edge. True, the grip gets slippery quickly at the driving range (sweat, need to change it), and I would guess that someone who swings the club fast would want to order the stiff shaft. Overall, however, I would recommend this club without hesitation to someone at my level, and would guess that someone better would be equally satisfied. Customer Service Gball.com was an outstanding etailer experience--lowest price, very fast delivery (3 days) with no shipping charge! I played these clubs in the early spring and was very impressed with them. They provide all of the shot making benefits of their more expensive bretheren (Orlimar and Adams) with a very attractive price tag. I found these clubs to be very forgiving. They get the ball up quickly for soft landings, with repeatable distances (good distance, not great). These clubs only come in graphite shaft. The grips are admittedly horrible, but the money saved on the clubs makes a grip change no problem at all. The only reason I do not have them now is I got an exceptional deal on the TriMetals from a friend who could not hit them (only benefit is greater distance). I recommend the Ram Concepts to everyone, however. I sold mine at ebay and offered a money back guarantee to the buyer if he did not like them. He eventually responded that he felt guilty and that he should have paid me more! Price does not always indicate quality. These clubs put a premium on quality with unrivaled value in the shallow faced wood genre. Similar Products Used: Orlimar TriMetal, Adams Tight Lies, Nickent Super Concorde. |

Bought this club after my clubs were stolen from my garage, and I read good reviews of this club on the net. Bought it for $75 through the Golf Warehouse on the net, without ever hitting the club. Excellent 3 wood, I bought the 15 degree in stiff, it is a very solid club, feels much larger than it looks. Excellent firm feeling shaft. Nice shots from the tee or the deck, nice high ball flight, I found it easy to work the ball right to left with a slight draw. Good distance, about what you would expect from a three wood. I like it so much I think I'm going to buy the 5 wood instead of a 2 iron to match the set. Only negative comment is the grip sucks, very slippery if even slightly damp, I am replacing the grip first thing, but considering the price of the club, $4 for a grip change is a slight price to pay for an excellent club. I tried the Cleveland, Callaway, Titleist, and Taylor Made: This club performs equally as well for a fraction of the price. Highly Recommended! I bought a 23 degree just for fun because I read a favorable review in Golf Magazine. Why not -- you can buy them on the Internet for $65-$85 and I have never owned a 7-wood. What a find! These clubs are well made, easy to hit, and solid performers off the fairway. The club was so straight and long I bought a 18 and 13 degree to go with it. Price is not the only measure of performance... Similar Products Used: None |
