These are great woods. I got steel S flex on the 5 and BiMatrix Stiff on the 3.I have been looking for a couple of months and gave these a shot due to the good reviews. They are easy to hit off the tee or from the fairway. Ball flies with a slight draw. The BiMatrix on the 3 is sweet (230-240yds and straight). Best woods on the market.

I was looking for a fairway wood. I was hesitating between the Ping i3 and the Mizuno T-zoïd. The Ping was good but the Mizuno was good also and cheaper. A Ping demo enabled me to try different shafts. The regular was too flex but I discovered that clubs could be fitted (shaft, loft, grip, lie) and that steel shafts were cheaper and that I can send rockets with them. I took one, it is a delight. The ball flies far and keeps rolling far after landing.

Customer Service

Fitting is great.

I have trouble with my long and somtimes with the medium irons. Anything from a 5 iron down gives me problems. I decided to bite the bullet and spend $200 for another wood. The BEST money I''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''ve spent on equipment is in this 7 wood. I can how hit 180 - 190 yards with no problem (other than my occasional duff/chunk etc.) This club has saved me many strokes per round over my previous scores when I tried to use the 4 and 5 iron. I don''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''t even carry those irons any more and thinking seriously about buying the i3 9 wood to replace the 6 iron. These clubs are great and take very little practice to hit them the way you want. If you can get a demo for a day or so, that''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s even better. However, if you don''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''t have the luxury of using a demo, just go buy one if you''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''re struggling with your longer irons. You''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''ll enjoy the game much more

What a fantastic club this is! I''ve been using a number of fairway woods before this, including the callaway steelhead, S-yard, and Orlimar Trimetal. The ping i3 tops the lot. It is the easiest 3 woods to hit off the fairways, and is long off the tee too. I used to hit my 3 woods around 220 yards, now i''m hitting it 240 yards. Another great feature is its dark appearence behind a white ball! Get this club at all cost!

The Ping I/3 steelhead FW woods are the best I have ever hit. Very easy to hit, long and straight. I can hit high, low, cut or draw. Very workable, cuts through rough as good as anything I''ve hit. I feel as though I can take dead aim and hit any target desired. They play well with both an agressive swing when needed or a smooth controlled effort. I cannot say enough good things about these clubs. I have tried so many fairway woods and these are in a class of their own. Thanks to the reviews on this site for aiding in my decision.

Great Fairway Club. I have the Ping 350 Stock Graphite Shaft in regular flex and they work great with my 95 mph swing. I hit them straight and long for me. 3 wood goes about 220 to 230 and 5 wood is 190 to 210 for me depending on how well I am hitting the ball that day. Great quality just look at weld points and fit and finish on Ping and you will see why they are so respected. RS hosel. Nice boring trajectory and what a soild sound when well struck. Very forgiving for a small head club. The faces on these heads are slightly taller and not as wides as the popular Adams tight lies. I found them to be easier to hit due to this design difference. I had them a year now and favor them more each round. These work so well I thinking about pulling my 4 iron and adding a 7 wood. Ping i3 of course.

I needed a 3 wood that could get more distance than my old Calloway Warbird. I tried a knockoff but I couln'd hit it consistently so after reading up on what others had tried, I decided to experiment with the i3. At first I had reservations with the shaft because I hit it left on the range quite a bit. On the course, I found the true magic with this club. I can literally pick my target and hit it and I can hit it 270 yards from the tee. I am very impressed with the results of this club but those I play with must be deflated because when I am playing conservatively, I'm outdriving them, and they are using their drivers. These guys are not slouches either. Next, I will get a 20 degree loft wood as I can find a use for the kind of accuracy I am getting with this Ping. I must add, I have never been a huge Ping fan but this club is a winner.
Overall, I get distance and accuracy wit this club. Oh yes, some mentioned that they are good from the rough and though I don't normally try a wood from the rough, I tested it and it does cut through the grass very effeciently.

The best club in my bag (besides my putter). The sole design lets you strike the ball from the deck just clean, and the club will play from aywhere. The club goes through the rough as if it were a weedeater. Off the deck is wheren it's home, nothing can possible hit more solid and straight. Lastly, off the tee you need to tee it low and just let the club do the work as the ball will rocket off the face with that sweet "ping" sound. I own the 14 degree and outdrive most peoples drivers-no B.S., did I mention the most important thing of all? It will keep you inplay at all times and it will put you in play if you need to.
I will not trade this thing for anything (well almost anything). The best club for the dollar, Period!!!!!

Model Reviewed: i3 Fairway (3W & 5W w/graphite shafts)

Absolutely love these clubs! Paid $219 each for the 3W & 5W with regular flex graphite shafts. Easy to hit off the fairway, and off the tees. I use the 3W off the tee on the short par 4's, and whenever I'm having driver problems. I measure one 3W shot at around 258 yards. The ball really jumps off the clubface. No need to spend the extra on the titanium model. Only negative is that the top of the club seems to chip easily. Have quite a few nasty scratches on the 3W already after only a couple months. Definitely should check these clubs out if you're in the market for woods.
