I have been playing with the Goldwin 10 degree driver for 2 years now. I only bought it because they were selling them for 30 bucks at a Golf Galaxy grand opening. Since I only took up the game seriously last year, I did not appreciate this driver until I tried a couple of others. Just 2 weeks ago I picked up an Olimar Trimetal from Egghead. The Olimar gets more roll, but that is the only thing it has over the Goldwin. I find the Goldwin much more forgiving on missed hits, with a superior feel through contact. Also, more distance and accuracy when struck cleanly. One complaint...I must carry an allen wrench with me at all times because the allen screws on the base plate loosen at least once a month. I am looking to buy another one at an auction site as a backup. Similar Products Used: Olimar Trimetal |

This bohemoth, milled from a block of aluminum, is large and surprisingly light weight. It is exceptionally long! This sometimes gets me in trouble as my accuracy isn't always there and I lose track of where the ball landed in the rough because it is so far off in the distance! Makes a light, dull thwack sound on impact--quite unlike other metal woods. It uses a lightweight big butt shaft (.870 size) which makes regripping a problem. TackiMack makes a replacement but I could not find this locally. You can also use a Winn wrap but unlike many, I don't like this. The stock grip is not very grippy and wears out in less than a season! I'm half tempted to reshaft with a lightweight graphite shaft with regular .580 butt size but don't want to mess up the swing weight. On a down note 300cc is huge! A little too huge! It's forgiving though... Cheap! Got mine for $70 a year ago... Customer Service ...goldwin is no more sadly. As mentioned before, getting the thing regripped is a challenge! I purchased this club last year on clearance and am glad I did. It is very long and straight. Last fall I hit a 326yd drive (was downhill) on a 566 yd par 5. So far this year I routinely have drives of 290-yds or better. It feels great to swing and the ball jumps right off the face. Only knocks are the grip wears out quickly and Goldwin went out of business. I wish I bought two or three. Similar Products Used: None |

This club is a great driver and is very forgiving, if you are a strait swinger of the club and you make a mistake and hit off the heel or toe of the club it will still go just about strait. I would recomend this club to anyone who wants to find a little more distance in there game. I previously hade a king cobra and I have out drove it by about 20 metres Similar Products Used: None |

Long and Straight. Great feel and not too loud. Super lightweight, even though it swings at almost D-9. Similar Products Used: Ti-Bubble 2, Biggest Big Bertha, Ping TiSi, 975D |

This club is just long! I've hit the GBB, 975D, and even the Liquid Metal and this club continues to out drive the competition by 30yds. This club is easy to hit and very forgiving for mid to high handicappers. The only problem is that they do not make the club any longer and the only place you can get one is through an online auction. Good luck. Usually shoot 80-84. Took it out to the driving range today. And have to say its a consistant 270-300 yards. My normal target is a green around 240 (I used to use a calaway 2 wood). I usually could hit the green on a fly with my old club. Today I was hitting it over by 15-20 yards and a ton of roll. The proforce 65 puts a nice trajectory on the ball to give alot of roll. This is just an update on my earlier review. This club ROCKS! I have not hit a ball OB since I started playing this....and its pretty damn long. I hit one 300 the other day, 260 in the air and 40 yards of roll. Also, was never more than a few yards off the fairway. BEST DRIVER EVER MADE...PERIOD! I have tried them all. Goldwin XL 7* Driver
GREAT Driver!!! Longest and straightest driver I have ever hit. Dropped my scores into the 70's three of the last four rounds. Previously used a Goldwin 9* driver but hit it too high. Thought I would try the 7* and have added about 25 yards to my drives with lower trajectory. Ball jumps off this club. Very solid and straight. Now use the 9* as a fairway wood. Also play Goldwin irons and fairway woods. Great clubs! Customer Service Good service from Quality Golf. Similar Products Used: Cleveland, Palmer, Callaway |
