Goldwin XXL Driver
Brought this Goldwin out of the closet and plan to use for a long time. I put this club together 10 plus years ago; 300cc head with UST Proforce 65 regular flex.

This club is light, fast and head heavy. It swings easily and is a great value for the money. All reviews on this club seem to be on-point. These clubs are a great value for the money. To get pro-line equipment for knock-off pricing makes me feel sad that such a great club is still a secret to many. I get a better swing and distance from my goldwin than I did from my Callaway C4. Like the C4, the sound is not like the typical "titanium ping" and may throw you off a bit. With that said, the club still puts the ball out there. Customer Service I have found that replacement factory slip on and wrap grips are available every day on Ebay (search for "Goldwin", and that shafts are also available on request. You might have to look in the secondary (view other Ebay Stores items) area, but they are there in nearly all configurations and colors. It is important to keep lightweight grips on the clubs to keep the design pure, according to some course pros. Although out of business, these clubs still have a strong following from those who know true quality and over-the -top engineering. Goldwin woods and irons
These clubs are light years ahead of anything else in the market. Woods are very forgiving and long. Also very straight but you can work the ball if you wish. Like hitting Persimmon sweet every time. If you ever played with th old forged MT Tourneys, Wilson Staff or first Flight, Ben Hogan blades, these irons feel like they did when you caught it perfect. Great clubs, very forgiving. Customer Service Had a problem with the iron shafts prior to Goldwin going under. The replaced all LW Steel shafts with graphite (gave me my choice) for no charge and turned around in 10 days. I am on the east coast they were on the west coast Similar Products Used: Big Bertha Driver and fairway woods. Hogan edge irons. |

This has got to be the best kept secret in all of golf. Such a secret that the company is now defunct. How a company that makes a product like this can go out of business is beyond me! Perhaps they priced themselves out of the market with a $500 price tag on their drivers... before those prices were acceptable. If I were you I would do what I am doing... I am collecting the heads on Ebay.... these heads can be attached to aftermarket shafts to better their performance... although they don't NEED a different shaft at all.... Hitting this club feels like butter... I have tried the other drivers priced up to $500. ALL of them... it feels like I am hitting the ball with a hollow tin can..... when I use the Goldwin, the feel/ball flight is out of this world.... Yes, this is an over the top review... BUT, if you take a chance and buy one ( there are still some new clubs available) - you will get one for less than $100 ( even if you buy the head and assemble it yourself-they will beat out the other high priced drivers) - and you will drive the ball farther than ever. I do recommend a lightweight stiff shaft... and a light grip.... Similar Products Used: Cleveland, Titleist, Ping, Callaway... etc |

Goldwin XXL300 10 degree
Started off with this club on my return to golf after a 6 year break and within two weeks was shooting better scores than I had ever shot before. Used the Callaway Big Bertha War Bird 9* for a while, but changed to the Goldwin and found an extra 15 yards on average up to about 330. Bought it originally because of the cheap price (got it for less than a quarter of retail because of Goldwin going under) and fantastic aesthetic value. Great driver - yielded some really, really long (and high) drives. Sounds and feels like a persimmon head driver but ball sure goes further. Have re-shafted with UST 65 gold shaft, based on reviews posted here. Driver has produced even better results! Have ordered a second 9 degree XXL head with a Penley Tour Lite (x) shaft. Can''''t wait to try it out! Thanks to all the folks who posted earlier reviews. Similar Products Used: Many, many others |

Goldwin XXL300 AVDP 9 degree driver
Strength:
None In spring of 2000 I purchased an 11 degree XL Goldwin at a local retail store for $175.00 I hit it well but too high. In the spring of 2001 I purchased on ebay a 9 degree Goldwin for $116.00. My 16 year old son claimed it to use on the High School golf team. I bought another 9 degree for myself in June of 2001 for $84.00 and now bought an extra 9 degree XXL300 Goldwin. Various shafts, two original Unifiber(one x-strong and one a regular), the other was a Tourflex midflex shaft. The ball really flys, tremendous forgiveness on off hits, outstanding visual appeal, soft feel on contact even on really bad off hits. My son feels the same about his club. Only one of my clubs has a set screw that comes loose as I read in another review. I also agree that it is a shame the company went out of business. I have tried Callaway steel Head plus, Lynx, Olimar, Taylormade. Some of these other clubs hit as far but none felt as smooth on contact.
