Baffler
The Cobra Baffler is an excellent fairway wood. I usally though don't use this club on the fairway but use it in the rough and it really lifts the ball with a solid feel even out of the rough. Similar Products Used: None |

Baffler LP, 16 degree, stiff graphite
I loved the look of the club and the confidence inspiring offset to the clubhead at address. However, when it was time to put up or shut up, I found the Baffler LP to be fairly silent. Accuracy is only fair and distance only acceptable. The offset and the closed clubface are a bit too much for me in this club. I was uncontrollably hooking the ball all too frequently. My criticism could be another golfer's rave, of course. It is apparent to me that the club's anti-slice effects truly do work; just too much for my taste. Feel is average and as other testers have stated, the club's versatility is very limited. Before I rip the club with my ratings below, let me repeat that the very reasons why I do not like the club could quite possibly be to the highest of benefit to the high-handicapper. We all can benefit from lessons, so I don't mean this to be taken negatively... If you slice this club, it is simply not the club; it is your swing. These are my reasons why this club is so great. The price is low compared to other models. Gettting the ball in the air is easily achieved with the club. And the distance is far better than my driver. i use the 3 wood on the tee and get better acuracy with the same distance. Similar Products Used: lynx, cleveland, callaway |

LP
The Baffler LP is a goofy club. The head looks like a normal wood that was left out in the street and run over by several trucks. It takes shallow face to the extreme, being shallower yet than many putters. If the ball is sitting up in the rough, it is quite possible for the Baffler to slide beneath the ball without even touching it. The shafts are too long for a utility wood. Baffler L.P.
This is an excellent 'rescue' club. Very easy to hit from the short stuff and the first cut. Offset design also makes it relatively straight off sloping lies (particularly natural fade lies). However, not recommended from deep rough, as the very low profile creates too big a 'scoop' risk. The 16 degree delivers 200+ yards off of low tee and from any reasonable lie, with nice directional forgiveness, although there is always some risk of getting underneath it just a little and loosing some distance. Having said all of that, the utility of the club is not up to the Tight Lies or Orlimar equivalent. The Adams in particular may offer better value for money, cause you'll probably pull it out of the bag more often. Similar Products Used: ADAMS Tight Lies, Orlimar TriMetal |

Cobra Baffler LP
I purchased the Baffler LP 5 wood and 7 wood. The 5 wood gets about 190 yards, and the 7 wood gets about 160 yards. Directional stability is excellent. I like these clubs which are best for Par 3's and clean lies. You have to sweep the ball for best results. I like these clubs. Similar Products Used: None |
