I am by no means a pro, but I do know when I am holding a good hybrid and this is one of the best hybrids I have played! I have previously been using a Ping G5 with the same Aldila (regular) shaft. This club is as close a mirror image to the Ping as I have played but at half the cost.

Bought this with Aldila graphite shaft for the usual reasons. I've had it for a year now. I've been inconsistent with it -- hit some great shots, but also lots of lousy shots, often flying right and short of target.

I actually hit my 3 & 4 irons OK, but sometimes OK wasn't good enough. So, I saw one on the flea market on FGI for $85 new and thought what the hell!? This was last August and my 3-iron has been sitting in the close ever since! This thing isn't the "pefect club" of hybrids but it's the best hybrid I've ever played. I purchased mine with the Aldila HL stiff shaft and have been very impressed with the stock shaft, as I tend to swing harder than most and this shaft handles the torque very well. My distance is usually between 210-230 yards depending on the shot and shot location. I honestly like this hybrid so much that I have decided to add the 4R Baffler as well since they are being discontinued.

I feel as if I found the holy grail. Finally a 200 yard club that I can hit reliably straight. This club differs from fairway woods in that the ball flight is straight and on target whether you play the ball forward for high shots or back in the stance for low running shots. I like that you play this club as if you are hitting an iron. There is something about sweeping a long fairway wood that seems unnatural to me, thus my historic inconsistencies with the fairway metals. There is a definitely "gear effect" owing to a noticeable roll to the face of the club that helps return pushed or pulled shots back on target. I played my first round with these clubs today and hit two greens in regulation from about 200 yards on the front 9. My playing partner has been too much of a purist to consider a hybrid club, but after today, well?!To hide my exhuberence for this club would be a crime to humanity. If you too want to shock and awe your friends, get one today. |

Cobra Baffler 5 Iron Hybrid
I am a 13.5 handicap, play about 3 times a month and hit my irons solidly up to the 5, which I hit well about 50% of the time. I bought this used for $119 as a replacement for my 5 iron ( I have a seven wood instead of a 3-4 iron which I LOVE). It was a choice between this club and the Callaway Heavenwood for the same price. After 3 swings, I am ready to replace my 7 wood with a baffler. The best product I have ever swung. It responds well to a downward, iron type swing rather than a fairway wood swing. Trajectory in general is more lofted than a well struck five iron. With no wind, the ball soars high and straight to about 175 (i hit my 7 iron 150 dead on) However, I have found that I can work the ball as well as my five iron, due to the fact that the baffler doesn't appear to have a strong fade or draw bias. If you have problems hooking the ball like me, the baffler won't make it worse, there doesn't appear to be a significant offset. The weight of the club and look is very reassuring at address. To me, other hybrid irons appear too small, and the shafts too long. This club definately has an "iron" look and feel in the hands, with extra weight. Feel at impact is solid, not as "springy" as the Callaway. I'm looking forward to trying it out of rough and sand, I anticipate that there will be no problem. I'm actually thinking of trading in all of my fairway woods and going with a 2 iron baffler as well. Customer Service NA Similar Products Used: Adams Idea, Nickent Hyper Steel 7 wood |

Cobra Baffler 20*
I purchased this hybrid primarily to help me out on drives that find the rough. After six rounds of golf I can honestly say that this club has been much more! I use it off the tee, out of the rough and off the deck as well and this club is reliable for keeping you safe with good distance. If you hit it on the screws you will be rewarded with above average distance and accuracy to match. This club is much easier to hit than a long iron and much more forgiving as well plus the look at address will give the golfer added confidence. I went with the Aldila shaft and have been pleasantly surprised. I haven't really notcied any ballooning shots except off the tee when I fail to tee it much lower than normal. This is a very nice looking club that does what it's supposed to in making the game easier and more enjoyable. I am very pleased with these clubs. They give me a versatility that I didn't have before. I would often swing too hard with my three or four iron. Now I swing easy and get better results. I can hit these high if I need to, or hit them with a low hook/draw or cut the ball. That workability helps a ton. I use the three for second shots on par fives often as even poor shots with these clubs go much straighter than poor shots with my three wood and the distance difference is not significant. I say, try a hybrid and see how happy you will be! |

Cobra Baffler 20 deg 3/R
I received this club as a gift a little over a year ago. It's probably the best golf-related gift I've ever gotten... just as easy to hit as anything I've ever played. I've always struggled to hit a driver so I started using my Baffler off the tee and I can put it in the middle of the fairway about 220-230 every time, which beats the heck out of 260 and in the woods. There seems to be a little offset to it so slices are non-existent. If my swing gets a little screwed up I can hook every once in a while but for the most part everything goes dead straight and far. I LOVE this club. |

I have the 3 ironwood, and absolutely love it. I can hit this club 220 to 230 excellent club to have. on mis hits very forgiving take out a few yards and still straight. On occassion i tend to shank this not very often, but look out houses on the course you may find my ball. |
