Cleveland Launcher Fairway Woods

Cleveland Launcher Fairway Woods

DESCRIPTION

• The maraging steel face has a higher strength-to-weight ratio than standard 17-4 stainless steel. The high strength characteristics allow us to create an extremely thin and lightweight face. This makes the face “hotter”, providing maximum distance.
• The fairway woods offer optimal face depth, which provides a large hitting area for increased forgiveness.
• The combination of a pear shape and a proportional head size make it easy to square the face at address, providing confidence time after time.
• A traditional score line pattern ensures proper spin and launch angles, even in wet or heavy grass conditions.

Model Reviewed: Launcher 15* , stiff shaft

After purchasing the Launcher driver, I picked up this three wood to complete the set. I''''''''m so glad I did. This has to be the easist club that I''''''''ve ever hit from the deck. I played a "strong" 13* three wood in the past and never got a decent trajectory. Most shots were no more than 20 feet in the air which mde me think twice when hitting over water. I love the trajectory with the Cleveland club. Not too high, but a pretty "arched" flight. As with the driver, this clubs tends to like a smooth swing. The weight is wonderful and I have no problem with the stock shaft. Off the tee, yardage is in the 245-255 range with higher ball flight. This is just a really easy club to hit, and hit straight.

Model Reviewed: Cleveland Launcher 3 wood

As a fan of Cleveland, I was given the opportunity to have a fifteen degree Launcher made for me. I have the gold-stock stiff shaft. I am a proponent of having the shafts shortened about an inch as well as finding what works for me, not what everyone else is doing. I must commend Cleveland for adding one more score line as many of us found the Quadpro/Quadrail just too short from top to bottom. You really had no choice but to skim the top of the club. This is a fine three wood for many of different levels of players. I still think the club could use at least one more scoring line. It reminds me of the Orlimar''s which are great hit perfect in the middle but not so pretty if they are hit a score line or two high. The Launcher line is VERY long. I used to hit the Quadrail 3 wood about 225, I am now getting about 235-240. Very LONG! The stock shaft is okay. I truly feel it is all about your swing. I feel that the shaft is a little inconsistant, but I was told over and over again, that this is a $100 shaft. These are great for smooth swingers, not that great for "bangers". Club''s head is very nice to look at, very close to Titleist''s 975F. I am also somewhat confused by Cleveland''s choice of color of shafts, the vomit-colored gold shaft is probably the ugliest shaft out there. Overall, this is a good to great fairway wood, I would suggest trying different shaft options though. I also would suggest trying the new Callaway SH III if you are like me and want a little extra sized fairway wood.

Cleveland is always good, I had a problem with a shaft, and they replaced the entire club. A+ by me!!

I never thought I''d find fairway woods sweeter than the Ping i3''s, but here it is! I have the 15 and 19 degree clubs with graphite regular flex for my 80-85 mph swing. Smooth swings are rewarded with exceptional distance and straighter shots than I have been able to achieve with any other club. The 15 is longer than the Ping 14, and the 19 is as long or longer than the 17 Ping. I am able to be more agressive at hitting into tight landing areas because of increased confidence in getting a straight shot. I can''t comment on being able to work fades and draws; I''m just happy for straight. What a value!

Very good wood. I am new to golf and have tried various woods already. I have only been to course twice although many times on ranges. I hit this wood over 200m and I guess I also help Cleveland sold three more. These other guys who apparently have played golf 100''''''''s of times are so damned jealous. Good thing I havent bought the 13degree 2 wood. They would have died.

First of all, I would like to clarify one thing about the shafts on these woods. They are not "made" by Fujikura. They were "co-designed" by both Cleveland Golf and Fujikura. In any case, these are the best fwoods I have ever hit...and believe me, I''ve demoed many fwoods since I work at a Pro Shop. These things are just fantastic. The feel, the look, and the ease of these woods are incredible. For $199 each, they are a bargain. The only other fwood I would recommend is the Callaway VFT, but they are $329 each and the clubhead is a little too big for my taste. Go buy one now!!!

I bought this last month in a sale with a YS-7 Stiff Shaft. I bought it becos it looked so good! And I already owned the 975F Titleist 3 wood 13.5D. I used to hit 200 yards with the 3 wood sometime with misses. I took my new Cleveland out to the range today and hit 7 balls (only and for a reason). All of which went over 250yards and with 80% swing. It went so straight at the flag and green that after the 7th ball, I stopped and thought. Could this be real? Realising it wasnt a dream, I went straight back to the shop to get a 3 wood. Which I had not becos the sale was over. Anyway, why would I now need a 3 wood 13D if I can hit 250y with my 5 wood. And with the 3 wood, I would reach 290y. And if I buy the driver I would probably shoot over 300. Anyway, I am going to buy the 3 wood and Driver after I sell off my 975F and 975D. Anyone interested in buying them off me?

The Cleveland Launcher is an awesome fairway wood. The feel coming off of the face is fantastic, and this club probably has the best stock shaft I have ever seen in a fairway wood. I won''t be replacing this shaft which is made by Fujikura, the feedback and response is excellent. The trajectory coming off of the clubface is nice, it doesn''t get too high and the sound of the ball strike is nice. The price of this club and the Mizuno fairway woods is reasonable. I like the Tour Spoon from Taylor Made but 299 pounds is too much for a fairway wood. For 100 pounds less the Cleveland Launcher is a bargain and felt better too.

I bought this club because of the good reputation of the Quadpro fairway woods in addition to the fact it was on sale. I was looking for a 3-wood that could provide a combination of forgiveness without sacrificing distance and that is exactly what I got out of this club. I tend to hit the ball far with a wood, but not with a consistent trajectory or direction, which forcced me to use an 2 or 3 iron to drive with on tight par fours. This club not only gave me a predictably straight ball flight, but also confidence to go for the long drive necessary to consistenly hit the green in two shots. This club should be able to be used by both high and low handicappers because it allows you to work the ball in either direction. The swing weight is D2 in all the available lofts and combined with the Cleveland gold shaft really allows you to feel the clubhead. I am not going to comment on how the club plays off the deck because I rarely need to hit a long wood into a green on the courses I play.

Pretty much everything that I have to say about this club can be summarized in one word....WOW!!! I used to own the Quad Pro and was extremely pleased with it. My only gripe being the shallowness of the face. I would often hit it off the deck from the tee rather than risk turning it into a lob wedge. The same problem was there for me in the rough. Cleveland addressed that issue and to be quite honest, made a great club that much better. I''ll start with the look of the club; very square, and very clean looking. The shaft is a little loud but then again I hit the ProForce in my Ping so really loud doesn''t really matter. About the shaft, it is by far the best stock shaft that I''ve ever hit in a club. Usually I''m one for changing out shafts upon purchase but I can''t see that happening here. Great feel, nice trajectory...the total package. Now lets get down to what everyone wants to hear about a club, distance. A good 20 yards past my 15* Quad Pro. I''m talking stupid long. It has me thinking that the 5 wood would be a better fit in my bag since i seem to be putting this club right about even with my driver. All in all this is a great club and I certainly recommend at least taking it out on demo. I''m sure that you won''t be dissappointed.

These are as good as advertised, the same quality that makes the Launcher driver so superb. Both have a low to mid ball flight and come off the head VERY hot. Both are very long, especially the 15* 3-wood. The best thing about these clubs, however, is how straight they are. Make a decent swing anywhere near the sweet spot and they take off right where you swing them. Aim straight, make a good swing and they''''''''re long and straight. Played today and hit a horrible drive (about 200 yards and had about 210 to the hole; pulled out the 3-wood (it was wet and rainy) and slapped the dang thing within a foot. OK, so it was a little lucky, but these clubs are for real. Price is reasonable and the quality is excellent.
