Model Reviewed: steelhead plus 5 wood

i only started playing in april this year, and found everything about the game difficult. a friend offered me his 5 wood at a very good price so how could i refuse. at first i couldn't use the wood and even contemplated selling it, until my golf instructor told me otherwise. after building up enough confidence to use it off the fairway, 220-250 out on a good lie i won't use anything else, it's unbelievable. i would recommend the 3 or 5 woods to anyone. i am saving at the moment for a 10 degree 1 wood, steelhead plus again, hopefully i will enjoy using that wood as much as my 5.

Model Reviewed: steelhead 4 wood - steel shaft

had struggled with my previous fairway wood (adamw) and felt a change was needed - what a reat decision - this club is a gem - great feel and flight and can be used for those high floaters to the green or a low draw for max distance - perfect!

Model Reviewed: Callaway Steelhead III 3&5 wood

Have Driver,3,5 in this set. The grips are horible and slippery. My 5 wood slipped out of my hand and landed in a water hazzard (unretrievable). This week end my 3 wood flew out of my hand from a fairway lie at hit the trunk of a tree and snapped the shaft. I hope your listening to an unhappy camper Callaway!

Model Reviewed: Steelhead III, 3-wood

I brought a Callaway steelhead III 3-wood this week, and took it to the driving range to test it out, I was hitting it fine, but after about 10 balls later, the flight of the ball start going weird, and I looked down the club, the top of the club's paint is coming off, and the face is all dented in, and top line edge is completely cracked, I can not believe Callaway makes a such poor product that sells for $249.99! I took it back to the shop and got a new 3-wood, and went back to the range, and it feels awful when you make a contact. I either hook it, or slice it, can't hit anything straight, so in a hurry and went back to the proshop and look around and saw a Cleveland Launcher 15 degree 3-wood, stiff gold shaft in the domo bag, and try it, and love it, balls go straight, perfect trajectory, after hitting about 20 balls, I finally hit a bad shot, it is about 10 yard left of the center (normally, that would be a good shot for me, but today I am dead-on with this club). Went back to the proshop, but they are all out of Cleveland 3-wood, so I brought this domo club for $149.00. This is not the first time that a defective Callaway club happen to me, I had a war bird many years ago, on the first day out, with only one swing, the club head fall off, and my son plays a Jr. Callaway set, the driver, and one of the iron shaft crack on us. Now this is the three club happen to me. If Callaway people is reading this, please paid attention! You just lost a customer, and if you don't improved your quality, you will lose a lot more future customers.

This is my favorite club in the bag. It carries 240+ and very high off the tee. It almost always goes straight even if I missed it thin or on the toe. I'm only using driver on holes that play into the wind. I'm usually not one to make price an issue, but they're really affordable.

I needed a 7Wood to replace my 3/4 irons thats I just cant keep straight so I tried taylor made 200 steel Mizuno Blue Rage and the callaway steelhead plus they all hit the ball well but I was able to get the callaway up in the air higher and straighter so I went with this new callaway club its a great club but a little pricey

I used to carry a driver, and no fairway woods cos I play my long irons quite well and my local course isn't the longest. Decided to get this to lay up on some holes. Because I wasn't used to fairway woods I began using the stance and swing I use for my driver. It didn't work, every shot was a duck hook, and I took it out the bag. Then I thought, 'hey, it's not a driver', and changed my stance and swing to the same I use for my long irons. Immediately I started to connect, the ball flew straight and far. It sounds great, and feels great. So much for laying up though, the ball goes almost as far as my driver off the tee! and it works well off the fairways too. These are top quality woods.

Model Reviewed: Steelhead III fairway 3W & 5W Uniflex steel shaft

Figured if I was going to replace my old set of Spalding 1,3,5 woods...why not spoil myself...it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. So I did. After reading the reviews here and everywhere, including advice from friends who are 2-8 handicap golfers...I made the purchase. These Callaways have been the best fairway woods for me. I can tee up the 3W and it goes avg. 250 yds effortlessly (pretty much I've learned to leave my driver in the bag unless hitting +450 yds par 5s & into the wind on some par 4s). From an elevated fairway the 3W goes 225-235 with plenty of roll...I guess it'll take time to learn to hit it properly off of a level fairway. The 5W goes +210 yds when teed up...and 195-200 yds from the fairway. My numbers (yardage) may not be as good as others listed on this club review...but I just keep reminding myself that I am only in my second year of golf. Therefore, I believe that as I gain more experience over the years the only change these clubs will see is a change in the shaft so that it will better suit my level of play.

I just replaced my first set of clubs. This club is the only one I'm keeping from my original set. I'm a beginner, but the better I get, the better this club gets. This old thing has hit a lot of shots. It's all scratched up and has a dent in the top. Still works great though. You can have it when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.
