Steelhead Plus #3 15* with Grafalloy Prolite Stiff
This club is ridiculously long. I might not recommend to higher handicappers as it is not very forgiving. However, I play a nice strong draw with this and hit it about 260 off the tee, which is remarkable considering my driver only goes about an average of 275. But I've got an r7 460 on the way that will hopefully remedy that.

Callaway steelhead plus 5 wood
I have owned this club for about 6 years and took it out of my bag 3 years ago so I could add another wedge to my bag. I kept my 3 iron in my bag and that was a mistake. This 5 wood has a consistant launch and trajectory and I hit it about 240 yards on a full shot. I use off the tee on short or very thight par 4s. The face is closed about 1.5 degrees and I have the stock R-flex steel shaft in it. Over swinging this club will produce a low hook every time. My scores prior to putting this club back in my bag were in the 91-97 range. Now that I am in the fairway 5 more times per 18 holes I am shooting in the 81-84 range. Take your 3 iron out and put this "outdated" club in your bag and lower your scores. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: n/a |

A revision. I reshafted the same fairway wood with a stiff grafite. I have at times hit it farther than my Driver ( A Cobra SZ400 ). However, I would not recommend anyone to hit this one from the fairway or from the deck. You need to have an extremely precise and flat swinging plane, and good hand eye coordination. Steelhead Plus 3-wood
I'm 31 years old, played to a 4.2hcp last year, bought this 3-wood to put in the bag, WORST MISTAKE EVER!! I hate this club, and I mean hate! I have had it since the beginning of last year and have been working with it 2-3 times a week on practice, couple times a week playing and I can honestly say its the worst club in the bag! I have a graffaloy prolite in it, same as my Steelhead III 7 -wood. It does nothing for me but hit high flailing fades and slices while I can nail the 7-wood 225 off the deck and 230 off the tee. I play a 983K driver with Accra T-60 M3(stiff) shaft and can hit on average for wet fall weather 275.....dry summer 285. 3-wood? YUCK! I cant get off the tee, I cant hit it off the deck, its costing me strokes and my hair! Used to break 80 (mid to high 70's) half the time at least, now I fight with this thing to shoot an 85 or better! Par 4's used to be my money making holes under 400 yards.....3-wood then 8 or 9 iron. Now its 3-wood, wedge out, 7-8 iron on or close to green.....yadda yadda..... Go look somewhere else for a 3-wood, no ragging on Callaway, just this stinking 3-wood! Callaway Steelhead Plus #3 steel
These Steelhead fairway woods seem to be the Porsche 911 of golf clubs--greatness which makes them timeless and forever enduring. I like the steel shafts in these--light weight for steel and the popular D2 swingweight. They are just sooo well balanced that its easy to put a good swing on the ball. Very confidence inspiring. I might try other woods. I might buy other woods, but if my swing goes south on me then I put this club back in the bag. The're just that good. Sweet!!! i have posted a few reviews but nothing so glowing as this this is simply the easiest most rewarding fairway wood i have ever hit. It looks good sits nicely sounds nice at impact and more importantly sends the ball away high and far. I didn't think anything could force my old eye2 out of the bag but this beauty has. Simply the best fairway woods ever made. This is the type of wood that tour pros will be keeping in their bags for years. Great sound and feel, headshape is simple and easy to line up. Perfect combination of balance, feel, distance, trajectory and control. I have the 3, 5, and 7 with the stock graphite firm shafts. I am always tinkering around with clubs/set make-up but never think about changing these woods. Customer Service Never needed it. Similar Products Used: Tried everything. |

Overall, very accurate and reasonably long. They allow me to keep the ball in play off the tee. I have the 3 and 5 wood in Steelhead Plus system graphite shafts, but prefer the Steelhead III system steel shaft on my seven-wood. The trajectory is satisfyingly high and the sound at impact is addictive. I've only ever hit unaccurate shots with these when I'm aimed wrong. At least one of these woods will be in my bag for a long time. Customer Service Haven't needed it. Similar Products Used: Big Bertha War Bird, Wilson Ultras |

Callway Steelhead Plus 3
I was on the market for a 3 wood, preferably with steelshaft. After having bought a Steelhead Plus Driver, I came to love the feel and sound at impact so while testing all of the woods off the rack, I found this Steelhead Plus 3 Wood with a Rifle Shaft. Not having yet the distance, I was sold on the accuracy of its shots, even under mis hits. Clubface retains original bulge which makes this club a bargain. Most other clubs with few exceptions ( titaniums and Titleist 980F ), gave me a dead sound, even when I nailed the sweetspot. Actually I was turned away by Titleist when I saw the Made in China labels on it.
