Model Reviewed: Callaway Big Bertha Heavenwood 4h

Went to the driving range with a friend to prepare for an upcoming tournament and he asked me to try his Callaway Big Bertha Heavenwood 3h. I hit ball after ball straight and long to about 220 yards. Now I'm not one to go chasing new equipment every time the "latest thing" comes out, in fact, I pretty much hang on to what I have and spend money on lessons. However, this club felt so good and I hit it effortlessly compared to my 3 iron. The shaft is shorter than a regular fairway wood so you set up like an iron and just swing and watch it go straight. I bought a brand new 4h (23 degree) on Ebay and paid $86 including shipping. Most go for between $100 and $130. I now have a reliable 200 yard club that I can count on to go high and straight at where I am aiming. Also, this club makes a wonderful "ting" sound as the ball rockets off the face. I think the metal that Callaway uses is superior. Used it for about 6 rounds now and whenever I hit a ball from 200 with this club, the people I'm playing with stare in disbelief at the trajectory and distance as the ball thuds the green and stops. And I look at them and say, "What?"

Model Reviewed: Callaway 3H Heavenwood w Steel Shaft

I demoed the Cobra 20 degree #3 Baffler and Callaway 3H & 5H (with steel and graphite shafts) before settling on purchasing this club. The Cobra yeilded aweful slices for myself and my playing partner (scratch handicap) the day I demoed it. This club on the otherhand was great the very first time I used it. It is without a doubt very forgiving and easy to hit - and the ball comes off the face "very hot". I've always been someone that was rather inconsistent with my 3 and 5 woods (and abysmally so with my 3 and 4 irons), when I hit them, I hit them well, but when I didn't, I was never sure where the ball would go. I need to setup and swing with this club as if a 3 iron and the results are amazing. My swing inconsistency still leads to variability in my shots distance-wise (they vary from about 190-220 yards), but they all go straight, in the air, where I am aimed, and when I swing a little in-to-out or out-to-in, the side-spin on the ball is only very slight... no major hook or slice as I would normally expect from my long irons. I think you cannot go wrong with this club - the price is a bit high, but definitely worth it in my opinion. For those other reviews that mention great hooks or slices, all I can think of is that their swings must not have been right for the shaft they used - because the clubhead on this thing is so obviously forgiving, I cannot imagine having problems with it even though I am a relatively high handicapper.

none of the 20 degree clubs I have used in the past compared to this club -- Although I have zero affiliation with Callaway and although I am rather conservative on my spending on golf equipment - this is probably the club every mid-high handicapper should have in their bag to hit those 200 to 225 yard fairway or very long par 3 shots.

Model Reviewed: Heavenwood 2H, RCH firm

I decided, like a lot of other golfers, to look at something more versatile than a five wood. I went looking for the rescue wood that would solve all the problems. I ended up in Heaven!! The thing I liked about the Heavenwood was the ability to get the ball in air and travelling everytime. That is the quaity of the sole design. The annoying thing I found was that a match to my Big Bertha three wood was harder to work out.. I tried the regular (like the BB 3 wood) shaft and found a violent slice.. Then I hit the firm shaft a few times and was much happier. I have found that the set up for the heavenwood is slightly different than with the three wood and is more like the set up for your three Iron... It makes sense when you write it down as that is what most people will be replacing. I find the flight a bit less consistent than I would like as the face is quite shallow.. so vertical errors are magnified.. However the results still mean I am better off then I would have been with the five wood. It is also more verstaile, you can hit low burners under branches over 200 yards.. that is a good trick when you need it. Overall it is a club that has plenty of new uses... I am looking forward to trying a lot more shots!!

This has turned out to be a very good club for me. Had problems with it going quite low however had a lesson which outlines some problems in my swing and after the making these adjustmemts I found the true brilliance of this club. The trajectory is perfect and it usually has a nice draw on it. Love the way it looks aswell. It's just like a little fairway wood. This club has also allowed me to add a lob wedge aswell as pitching, gap and sand which has helped me. A very good club for all level of player.

Customer Service

Bought it custom fitted and only took 10 days or so. Excellent.

The 20* Heavenwood is the perfect replacement for the 3 iron or longer shafted 5 wood. Great distance and versatility (use it off the tee, out of the rough or fairway). With this club i can draw or fade the ball, hit it high or low. This club has allowed me to add an extra wedge that will give me more shots around the green.

Ladies and gentleman if you have not tried the new Callaway Heavenwood you are really missing out on this special club. I hit the H2(17 degree loft) 225 yards, and I can either hit a fade or a draw. This club is an outstanding addition to the Callaway collection. If you are looking for a new fairway wood please take this baby out for a test drive.

This club is the best thing in the world if you are looking to replace a faiwaywood. I replaced my 5 wood and I am wondering what I was waiting for. The face is hot, and the ball flight is awesome. And oh yeah, it is so long it is almost unbeleiveable. I hit this thing 235/240 easily. The gotta have club of the year.

Years ago I replaced my 3 iron with a Callaway Steelhead 7, it is a great club. With my 4 iron being inconsistent and all the hoopla about hybrids, I tried the 4h heavenwood. I hit a few good shots on the range but the majority went left and did not have a bit of draw on them. I'm left handed. After trying all the other hybrids on the market I settled for the Hogan CFT. I've had good success with the Callaway VFTs and Steelhead but I will not be carrying any heavenwoods even though the name is quite catchy.

First off I would like to say that I never write reviews for a product unless I am amazed at its performance! This club will increase your game tremendously. It is so forgiving and flys so long! I couldn't beleive it! I was hitting this club about 210 and I only hit my 5 wood around 200, and it is 2 degrees stronger!! I recomend this product to anyone looking for a better, longer, straighter mid game! Look beyond the price because it is well worth it!
