Model Reviewed: Warbird 3 wood

I bought the warbird 3 wood slightly used for 70 bucks at my local golf shop with the memphis-10 steel shaft. I use a 3-wood off the tee most of the time b/c i dont have consistency with the driver. Well i'll tell ya it's the best 70 bucks i have ever spent on golf. I hit it consistently straight with a little draw 220 yards (not bad for a skinny 15 year old on the verge of breaking 100) If u dont want to spend big dough but want quality clubs buy the war birds! my friend has the 7 wood and loves it b/c it is so versatile (off the tee on long par 3's, out of the rough etc.) Although a few years old still very good!

I will admit that I am a bad golfer. The one thing that I never could do was hit any wood at all. This club is very easy to swing and control. The first shot I hit was perfectly straight and went about 215 yards. Before, I would tee off with a 5 iron and end up with only 175 yards at best. Now driving is my strong point. I use the three wood because I heard it is a little easier to get airborn and to control than the driver. I bought it used for about $100. Best money I ever spent on golf equipment. Now, if I could only figure out how to chip.......

Have been using the warbird driver for a number of years now. I have not been able to find anything, that Callaway makes, comparable. I think it is the best driver thay ever made, and I've tried them all.

These are some of the easiest clubs to hit! I use the 3 off the tee most of the time ... long, straight, and pretty accurate (most of the time!) ... the Heavenwood (7) is a must have ... I used it as a replacement for my 3 and 4 irons up until recently ... now, I use it more as a utility club (out of rough, f'way traps) ...

Mis-hits still fly pretty far ... I haven't learned to work the ball with woods yet, but I am sure that these clubs will make it easier! An added benefit is that these clubs SOUND great when you hit the ball just right!

Great clubs to get if you're just starting out ...

I've been playing the Strong three with firm shaft since it was intoduced several years ago. I've even quit carrying a driver because of the distance and accuracy this club gives me. I know it's not for everyone but it seems to be the ideal for my game. With the price as low as is it now, it is a must try for all golfers.

Customer Service

I have broken the graphite shafts on three different drivers, all through normal play, and all three were fixed promtly and correctly. No questions asked. I have even dented the face of one driver and that was completely replaced. Once again, no questions asked.

Great club!! Got this last Christmas, and it works great for me. Just finely broke 100 this last weekend and the 5 Wood made a big difference on the par 5's and long par 4's. Good price for these clubs as they are not being made anymore in favor of the Hawkeye.

I like Callaway Clubs because they are forgiving on miss hits and they are easy for me to hit from the fairway.

Confidence with any club is vital because the game is such a mental test. I hit an old dry rot Ping 4W as well as any club in the bag cause it feels good in my hands. Off the tee the Callaway 3W is forgiving but, hey, you gotta swing it or it makes no difference.

Good balance of distance and trajectory but not as long as others. Nice workability. Great club on tight par fours.
