The Tight Lies is sweet, smooth and easy to hit. Don’t let the old infomercials scare you off, this is a hell of a club. I have never been able to hit a fairway wood effectively. I was destined to take second par five shots with long irons, coming to 130-150 yards of the green. This club is so easy to hit it should be outlawed. I get consistent 200 yard shots with this club, and they are as straight as can be. The flat sole on the bottom of the club prevents the hit-behind-then-top shots of my old fairway woods. The weighting is perfect, and hitting each shot feels sweet. I bought this club for $50 and can’t believe its effectiveness at such a low price. Sell your three and five woods and pick up a 16-degree tight lies with the profits! Your game will thank you!

Good club especially considering the price. Good distance, accuracy is ok. I tend to push shots with this club. I will probably buy a newer generation three wood this summer to replace this one.

Model Reviewed: Adams Tight Lies original Strong 5

Original Adams 5 wood with stock stiff steel shaft. This club has been very good to me. Not the fanciest club in my bag, but it gets the job done and thats why it stays. The heavy sole allows a nice easy stroke to shoot the ball a long way. Really shines on those par 5 second shots. I use it primarily when I need a little more carry than a 3 iron or in a tricky lie. Damn thing is a real straight shooter. Previously,I used a Callaway 5 wood, but I have to admit, the Tight Lies is better at getting the ball off the carpet than most standard 5 woods. Check these clubs out on EBAY. I got mine for $15.00!

Upgraded from an old Cobra, find this gets good length, almost as long as my #3 wood, but more consistently straight, and can be used in the rough. A good club.

Magnificent club! Trajectory of this 16* fairway wood is more like a 5 wood with the distance of a 3 wood. I hit it about 235 yards off the fairway. Very forgiving and straigth as an arrow (but can be slightly worked). Performs best from horrible lies, as advertised. The club swings itself. THE absolute best fairway wood I've ever used--I will be buying a matching 7 wood to replace my *%#@ long irons. I recommend this club to anyone. Remember though, this club is low profile--treat it accordingly unless you like large dents in the top of the head.

I bought the Tight Lies to try it out because i wanted a fairway wood that would cut through the grass at great speed. I absolutlely love my Tight Lies, i am never worried about where it will go it is very accurate on the fairway and off the tee box, I recommend it for anyone!!

Like many high handicappers one of my main weaknesses was the fairway wood shot, however since purchasing the Adams strong 3 wood, I've hit some beauties with it. It feels very comfortable and has given me a lot of confidence off the fairway now on the long par fives. Recommended for anyone with similar problems.

My review of this club is mixed, at best. When hit well, it it hits easier and longer than my driver off the tee. (~270) and from the grass (~230). But, I've had fits getting any consistency with this club. Toe hits are WAY too common. The angle of the club face either encourages toe hits or the appearance of the club forces me to set up for a push--I can't always tell which. The result is that this club is my most inconsistent club. I would rather hit my driver off of the tee and take a 3 iron from the grass (believe it or not). Not exactly confidence inspiring from what is supposed to be a relatively "safe" driver. I've only ever had 3-4 good fairway hits with this club in two years. I just use my 3 iron because I'm afraid of it! Also, the look is plain and ugly. The sound is dull. Solid hits feel good but mis-hits are dull with little feedback. And the appearance of toe offset (i.e. the clubface doesn't appear to be straight across) just screws me up to hit off of the toe. Advantage: It was very cheap and is actually well made, despite the plain appearance. I'd recommend it simply for those who need clubs to start playing--you might not have the toe hit issue I do. I'm buying a Taylor Made V Steel today.

What a deal!!!! I know what you are thinking where did he get the club for so cheap, well I bought the head on ebay and shafted it at my local golf retailer. But you can also buy the heads at www.golfsmith.com for only $30-$35 brand NEW!!! Well anyways on to the club, it is a great addition to any high handicappers bag. It is easy to hit and goes straight and long. If you are a low handicapper you will sacrifice a few yards in distance but gain considerable accuracy....THE CHOICE IS YOURS. Best 3 Wood I've ever hit....PERIOD and I've tried them all. Get one and watch your scores drop.
