I have mixed feelings about the tight lies. They're reasonably good fairway woods, but they're useless out of the rough. Unless I have a ball sitting right up in the fairway I usually leave them in the bag (I usually use them off the tee or on the second shot on the par 5's). They generally deliver a good boring ball flight, but I used to like my old Square2 3 and 5 woods out of the rough, something which is out of the question with the Tight Lies.

the adams tight lies is by far my favorite fairway wood i have ever hit. I used the trimetal, and failed to get the ball in the air enough. With the tight lies the ball goes high, straight, and far. I like this club 20 times more than the trimetal and highly recomend it to golfers who have trouble getting the ball in the air.

This is my second time I'm writing this review, after using it for half a year. I have only golfed for a year, and my goal has been to make straight shots. Tight Lies wood does exactly that. It's almost impossible to slice or hood a ball. The only problem with it is tricky setup. The design is quite difficult is aim properly on a bad lie (rough, up/down hill). But since you can't slice it, the result is usually still acceptable after a bad shot. The worst shots with this is the baloon shots because it's very thin. I think the new model Tight Lies 2 should address this problem. I just don't want to pay a higher price for that. For fairways and hard ground, you won't have this problem at all. At the tee, I just set the tee so low that I can barely fit my fingers under the ball. Now I don't have to worry about the rocket balls too much. So far this club is the best value for my money. Yesterday having missed only one shot in the rough with this club, I shot my lowest score 85. Boy that's the first time I ever broke 90 ...after playing golf for only one year. Sorry for writing such a long review, but I'm too excited about yesterday's game.

both the stong 3 and 4 are outstanding clubs. Super forgiveness- awesome from fairway or shorter rough- long rough can mean pop ups- good off the tee if you tee it very low. I used to not even carry a fairway wood- just a driver and 3-sw- now I carry a driver, stong 3, strong 4 and 4-sw. Hit the 16 degree 195 on the fly and the stong 3 about 210. Ball usually doesn't get a lot of roll due to lots of backspin. You can aim for the greens with these and they will hold if they aren't too hard.

I love it when Info-mercials for golf clubs are actually true to their statements. This is the case with the Adams Tight Lies fairway wood. Thin shots? No problem, this club gets the ball up and maximizes that shaky shot. Toe and heel shots? No problem there, either. This club does an excellent job of working overtime to keep your shot as straight as possible. My favorite feature of this club is the range of shots I can hit with it. Tee it up a little and you've got yourself a ball-spinning 200 yd shot. Tee it up on the ground and you've got yourself a more than adequate substitute for that Titanium driver of yours. (Without the unpredictability) Yes, this club is exactly what they say it is.

An absolute blessing for the average golfer. I now hit steel shafted 4, 7, 9, 11 woods and my game has never been better. As a low ball hitter, these tools allow me to drop balls softly onto greens where they actually stay. Unless you need the distance, I would recommend steel shafts as the idea here is to hit them high and straight, not for length. Try the 11 wood and take the 5 iron out of your bag. Enjoy hitting greens from 170-175 yards while your buddies are bouncing shots long. They are also very reasonably priced now so go to the range and check them out.

Transformed my fairway game. First club I ever had that actually lived up to its advertising claims. (Amazing distance, laser like accuracy, etc) The 5 wood gets me a consistent 210-230 yards. For me that's 3 wood distance or a little better-amazing. Very straight with good loft. The Adams 3 didn't give me any more distance and was harder to hit so I dumped it. The 7 came next and gets me about 180-190. The 9 is used for 160 or so. Tried the 11 wood, but it didn't work out. Shallow face does tend to pop the ball up if hit off a tee (tee the ball about 1/8" or just drop it on the ground) or if it's on a fluffy lie. Strongly recommend graphite shafts for these clubs. Far and away the best fairway woods I ever tried. Hardly use the long irons anymore and took the 3 iron out of the bag.
I also have a 2 wood which has a taller face and as a result is pretty good off the tee. But it doesn't get anymore distance than my 5, it's just easier to hit off the tee.

Always had trouble before with hitting a fairway wood, but this allows a free swing for me to get a nice ball flight.

I have been playing this great game for only 4 months.I am hitting my irons real well but have not found the most suitable fairwoods yet until I purchased Adams Tight Lies 2 Spin Control 3 & 5 after having test driven other brands. These Tight Lies 2 are great clubs, easy to hit and most importantly you can feel the clubhead. I using the 3 wood for tee off, averaging approx. 200 yards with good accuracy. Once I achieve more consistancy I will test drive the Adams SC Series Drivers to complete my set.

These clubs are the easiest fairway woods I have ever hit. They are long, straight, and have fantastic feel. The only problem I've had is in high, fluffy grass- you have to be careful not to swing right under the ball. I wouldn't play anything else!
