For the Average golfer who has trouble hitting their driver in the fairway and hitting a three wood off of the ground, this is the club for you. Adams has successfully made a club that is easy to hit off of the ground and has very good control. When I picked this club up, about a year ago, I found it on sale for $60, it would have been stupid of me not to try it. I have found it to be a true asset to my game. When I am not hitting my driver well, I always have a back up. This club will send me directly down the fairway every time, and the distance is supurb. It is like having another driver in your bag that you can hit off the ground. This club is a must for all of the golfers loosing shots because they cannot get the ball off of the tee, or cannot hit the green from 180-220 yards.
As a follow-up to some of the bashers of this club, I feel that you neglected to observe the shape of this club. It has a SHALLOW head, thus making it easier to get under the ball. If you have a good lie in the rough, that is the equivalent of teeing the ball up. What else can you expect, but to get under the ball?

The Tight Lies 5 wood is great off the fairway. It also sweeps the ball out of short rough quite nicely. It is a great club for approaches on par 5s. It will get the ball high and not get caught up in the rough. I would not replace this club with any other. You cannot be intimidated by the low profile of the club head. That is what makes it so nice off of the fairway.

Great 3 wood to hit. Recommend it to all intermediate golfers. You do tend to get under the ball alot, but it is a shallow face, that is the way it was designed, to hit high shots that would land soft. I have played with it for two years, and can carry 265 yards. I use it on alot of par 4's of the tee. Only problem with me, the steel shaft is not very responsive, hard to work the ball.

I've hit this club about fifty time and I cannot beleive how straight I hit it. I'm a slicer but only one hit so far has sliced and it was not that bad. Straightest driver I've ever hit and the distance is as good as my Orlimar Trimetal, which is now for sale.

Customer Service

Adams fitted me with the 10.5 degree regular flex shaft at a demo day and they were very nice and helpful.

Driver is easy to hit, but takes time to figure out how to hit it straight. Looking forward to getting better with this powerhouse of a club.

Model Reviewed: Tight lies original 16*

I like this club a lot. Overall a good club, but I am still working out all my problems with it. the 16* is very good, but the 12* sucks. I can't hit it; it goes essentially the same distance, I am not able to hit the par 5's in 2 with the 12 degree. I figure it's because the stupid shafts are the same length for the 16 and 12 degrees, of 43", but I feel the 2 wood should have a 44" shaft in it, that way it would truly hit farther. I can't get underneath the ball consistently with the 2 wood, the but 16* more so. However I have to put a strong swing on the 16* or I'll hit it fat, or way right. Overall it's been taking strokes off my game, except for the times when I push the ball way right; but from now on I will swing harder with the 16* and then it will consistently go straight. I have a firm flex and you need to hit it 95mph+ for a consistency.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
don listen to what anyone else says this is freakin awesome. Im 15 and cant hit far irons so i have to have good fairway wood play. I use a 10*driver 13* 3wood and this as a 4 wood i hit it about 170 it fills the gap between my 3 and my hybrid 3 iron. Great. Got firm shaft so it would act as a 17* one that i wanted and its lazer accurate. Go out and buy one now only 99 bucks i got it for 95 cuase i said i saw it cheaper somewhere anyway. Have fun im gonna get tight lies driver and I-wood i think too for my junior year

This club is uterly horrid. The club has no feel, nor does it help your swing. This club was truly made for the above 90 golfer. The tight lies can be hit from the tee easily, but you cannot use a normal swing. When you hit a tight lies you end up with a choppy golf swing, which in the end hurts your game far worse than the club's heavily weighted sole helps. I would steer very very clear of this club unless you dont want to improve your game, the only reason for using this club is to get better scores with out any work. This may seem good, but just try to hit your irons after playing with a tight lies, it wont be pretty.
