Zero Tolerance Crown Jewel Spectra Drivers

Zero Tolerance Crown Jewel Spectra Drivers

DESCRIPTION

From ZT Golf: "Crown Jewel Spectra has 320 cc of size, 2 inch face height and is metallic black in color. It does not look that big in comparison with the actual size. Feeling is very solid and sound is mid to high pitch. It has a boring trajectory with soft landing, resulting in more rolls. It hits straight and easy with a minimum dispersion."

This is a review of the Zero Tolerance Crown Jewel Spectra

Personal:
age: 29
height: 6’1”
weight: 215
handicap: 10
swing speed: never been tested but the guy who fitted me guessed between 115-120
swing tendencies: I’m a high ball hitter, can work it both ways; my bad shot is a low hook

Club Specifications:
8* with UST Proforce Gold 65 stiff shaft; Ping Dyla Grip; 45”

Club Appearance:
The head at 320cc does not look, nor feel big. It feels great at setup, you your going to get good results from this club. A very nice gray finish with a gold alignment mark. Good looking driver. I like the that the face does not have that Z on the face like the original Crown Jewel.

Club Performance:
All I can say is WOW. I have hit the best drives I have ever hit, long, with a boring trajectory. I spent some time on the range with the Spectra and it felt good. It was unreal when I took it to the course. I consistently hit 280yd drives when I put a good swing on it. On 18 at my home course, I had 203yds to the pin on a 521yd par 5. No lie. The club was very forgiving, my miss-hits lost some distance, but did not stray far off-line. I love this driver.

Club Feel:
The club feels great, I could work the ball both ways. It had a solid sound when I hit the ball, and I could feel off center hits. I love this driver.

THIS CLUB IS IN MY BAG TO STAY.

great customer service, the Zero Tolerance crew will help you in any way posssible.

Model Reviewed: 9* w/Quadraxx P1230T

i put together a Crown Jewel Spectra 9* w/Phoenixx P1230T (high stiff). it came out to a d3 swingweight @ 45 inches. i was very pleased with the aesthetics of this club. the head is beautiful and quality is top-notch. the QC sticker said its actual loft was 9.5* with a 1.5* closed face. its a bit flattish on top, but it does make for a nice appearance at setup. it looks very similar to the Ping TiSI, but its definitely an original design. the combination of white shaft with black accents went very well with the charcoal gray/gold accents of the head while a lamkin crossline soft-cord grip made it that much more appealing. quite a fancy looking club if i do say so myself!

i took this to the range before a round of golf. from the very beginning, i knew this club was the real deal. very solid at impact and very forgiving with a very sweet balanced feel to it. this is defintely the best feeling driver i have ever hit. the sound was very pleasant as well. surprisingly the closed face didn't produce any hooks. the trajectory with the P1230T was just about perfect. it had a very nice penetrating action to it, and just seemed to keep going with absolutely no ballooning. in fact my playing partner made a comment about one of my drives saying "wow, that thing really just seems to stay up there". i got a good amount of roll out of it when i hit it right. i didn't hit it side by side with my TF 360 so i don't KNOW if its any longer, but i can say that i am more than happy with the distance. my guess would be that its a bit longer, but not by much. the P1230T shaft pretty much does as it claims. you can load it with a smooth swing, and its right there if you want to jump on it.

overall, i'm very impressed with this driver. i couldn't bring myself to use my TF 360 during my round so i guess its safe to say that its in the bag. in fact, i gave my TF 360 to my brother.

Customer Service

John at Zero Tolerance is the man! very helpful and friendly. definitely an asset to his company.

Model Reviewed: 9 degree with ZT 2.5 regular shaft

Club doesn't look as big as the 320cc volume would indicate. I think it is easier to look at than the Ti Bubble 2.

Club is very forgiving. Ball flight is true to loft. It doesn't produce the tipical titanium sky ball. This is one of the longer drivers I have used. Longer than the Ti Bubble 2 and more forgiving. Toe hits produce a nice little draw and hits in the heal area produce a little fade.

Overall I was very happy with this club. Fit and finish was excellent. The ZT shaft is very nice and responsive feeling. It produced some very accurate shots, as accurate as any other driver I have tried. I'm not sure if players that hit away form the sweet spot a lot would benefit from the low torque though.

This driver has to be one of the best values on the market. I haven't tried the new offerings from Taylor Made or Wilson but they can't be as good as this one for the money.

I gave an overall rating of 4 stars because I don't think there is a perfect driver in exists. This one is as close as they come though.

This driver is one of the most forgiving I've hit. Toe and heel shots still get plenty of distance. Solid contact with the sweet spot produces distance comparable to the Ping TISI.

The looks of the club is like that of the Ping but has an alignment mark which is a little too prominent. The look of the club at address instills confidence.

The sound at impact has a clear ring that is impressive.

The shaft, the ZT 2.5 stiff was a perfect match for this clubhead.

I tested an 8* Zero Tolerance Crown Jewel Spectra on an HM40B stiff shaft.

This club is the real deal. Ball flight is boring, ball comes off the face hot, and hits the ground running. I hit several shots into a stout wind that still gave me good distance (245 o 255 yards), and hit some other shots downwind that were simply unbelievable.

The feel of the club at impact is very solid, and the sound is very powerful.

The appearance is very Ping like, but smoother. The alignment aid is as ugly as all get out, but hey, the club works, so you can overlook it.

This club is well worth the money, and matches the performance of my 'Almighty TiSI/AJ Tech" combo.

Model Reviewed: 9 Degree

I'm playing the Zero Tolerance Crown Jewel Spectra 9 Degree with a Penley Stealth 70 regular graphite shaft. It is 45 inches and has a D-2 swingweight and a Golf Pride Softie grip.

My swing speed is 93 mph and I play to a 6.5 handicap index.

This is one solid driver. I've only had it on the course once so far. But, it performed excellently. It is pretty long and very forgiving.

At address, it doesn't look as big as it is. It has a nice dark grey fleck paint job. You need to tee it pretty high - Higher than my GBB.

The Penley shaft is a good combination with this head. I'm very encouraged by my first outing with it.

At impact, the head feels very solid. A nice sound (hard to describe). Less pingy than my GBB.

I have a good feel for the clubhead during the swing.

It only took a couple of drives to figure this club out. First drive was a fade to the right. The rest were straight or a nice draw. Good boring trajectory. Can't wait to play on drier fairways. The fairways in North Texas are very wet right now.

Zero Tolerance needs to get bigger head covers. The ZT head cover I have fits very tight on this head.

I recommend this driver to anyone. At about half the going rate of the OEM clubs, this is a great value and a very solid driver. Very comparable to drivers costing twice as much.

For the price, this is a wonderfull driver. One of the best component drivers on the market.

The head is shaped like a TiSi, but over time, the similarities dissapear because the Spectra is much more rounded, and looks smaller at address.

The feeling at impact is one of the best out there. It feels much more lively then my 975D or my older Great Big Bertha. The head feels a tad light, but is very easy to track through the swing, and the sound at impact is lush. Overall in terms of feel...the driver feels alive, and the face feels explosive.

The ball flight is great...low with tons of roll, and the head is easy to align using the marker on top. The construction quality is very high, and the workmanship was great.

Overall, the driver is great...at this price which is around 200 dollars lower then "name brand" clubs, it is exceptional. Also, if one is in the market for a component club...thsi club runs 60 dolalrs or so higher then an Integra from a professional clubmaker, but it is a better all aorund club then either the Integra IV or the Integra c2.

Looks - For a 320cc club it looks very sleek and you only really notice its size when you set up to a ball.

Feel - Very solid - not as harsh as the Integras. Not too muffled too you can feel where the ball hits. The 2.5 shaft is low torque without feeling boardy.

Forgiveness - very forgiving as you'd expect from a huge clubhead.

Distance -as long as any other club but no longer.

Trajectory - high for a 10 deg. See GBB for comparable lofts.

Workability - not really an issue since the huge head is hard to turn over or cut.

Okay, I'm a tester, so I have a vested interest. But I am impressed.

Set-up: ZT Pro 2.5 R, 45", 10"

Looks. It looks like a serious club, enough so to scare me away at first. (I couldn't hit the original CJ to save my life!). Deep metallic gray finish, general shape like the TiSI/Integra IV. And square to my eyes. Class all the way. Shiny forged face and sole. 320cc, of course.

Feel. Kinda light. Extremely responsive when striking the ball, with a mucho classy "whack" sound. Seems to want a smooth swing.

Results. Very nice. A boring trajectory (who-hoooo!), very respectable distance. Not longer than the competition, I think, nor shorter, except for the outstanding trajectory.

As for forgiveness, my bad swings produced some purty big slices and weak pulls. But I got lots of nifty boring "whacks" -- can't wait to learn more.

Bottom line: I really like this club. It is just first-rate work. It's probably not better than the TiSI, Hawkeye/VFT, 300-series, or whatever, but I sincerely doubt it's any weaker or any more difficult to play. And the price is about $220.00 from customgolf.com and others -- in your specs(!). If you can get your hands on one, try it. This one's in my bag in place of the Integra IV for now.... And I feel sooo much more respectable!

Last comment: A kid stopped by just to fondle the thing; it's that pretty and that explosive.
