I've had this driver for a almost 1 year now. Once I got past the normal adjustment period, this club became the most consistent performer in my bag. Its extremely forgiving while still providing excellent feedback. When you hit it on the face, the ball comes off hot and long; I'm now consistently driving the ball 20-30 yards past my old yardages. One bit of advice... Tee It High.

The best bang for the buck in drivers today. As a caveat, you need the loft and shaft to fit your game (the OEM game of one regular and one stiff shaft for everyone is a ridiculous ripoff). I know what shafts work for me, and with this head driving is a pleasure. Unlike lots of megaheads, this one feels great and sounds great. It's a deep-faced driver, so if your main misses are on the heel or toe, you might like something else. However, toe misses in particular are not penalized badly. This driver is long and sweet --- I can't recommend its performance enough for the price, particularly if you get someone to fit you properly.

read a bunch of reviews on the maxima crown jewel 400 and decided to give it a try....boy am i glad i did....any mis-hits close to the sweet spot went at least 260 yards and kept me out of trouble...anything on the sweet spot took off like it was shot out of a gun....i hit one ball 300 yards...shafted the 400 with the new grafalloy blue shaft and am quite stoked to start playing from the tips from now on.

I am currently playing my 3rd ZT Max 400...Why the 3rd? Because I keep coming back to it. I have played dozens and dozens of drivers in the last couple years, both OEM and components, and the ZT Max 400 is without question the finest driver I have played. The key to any driver is to find the right loft and shaft set-up. Find the right loft and shaft in the ZT Max 400 and you will never want to tee off with another driver. I do not believe I have yet found the perfect shaft...my testing continues with a new Aldila NV on the way...but today I have a 10 degree 400 with a stiff Penley Stealth 70. The club is 44.75" and swingweights at D2.5. This combo produces a beautiful bombing trajectory without any ballooning. The shape of the trajectory is a perfect vector that produces lots of roll upon "re-entry". The shape and sound of the ZT Max 400 is without question the best of any of the large heads I have played. The deep face provides a look at address that is not too large and the sound is a meaty "THWACK" as opposed to the metallic "DOINK" or "CLANK" of most of the other large heads. No, it's not that solid sound of persimmon but it's a far cry better than most titanium big heads. In sum, if you haven't tried the ZT Maxima 400, pick your favorite shaft (don't go cheap) and have one assembled for you. You will be incredibly impressed and you'll retire whatever OEM stick you're currently playing...There's no question in my mind.

Used to play the Maxima 330(a great club also),now I play the 400.Both clubs are shafted with an Innolite R flex. The 400 seems more forgiving,better feel and much straighter. I think it the 400 maybe a little longer. The 400 seems match up to the Innolite very well. Would recommend this club to anyone

Have this head with a Harmon FZ Stiff Shaft. Great Combination. Drives are straight and long with low/mid trajectory. Great combination of carry and roll. Some of the longest drives in my life after only six rounds. Now convinced custom components is the way to go for less than half the price. Finished product is as good or better than OEM.

The best driver I have ever hit. Built with a Harrison Striper F shaft 9 degree loft 45 in. long swing weight with an oversize Whisper grip. I coach a high school team and have repaired and built hundreds of clubs. This club if hit on the sweet spot will outhit anything out there, KZG, Callaway, and et al. My club is a .5 degree open as my friends used to call me the happy hooker. The Maxima 400 ball flight is mid-flight and very hot off of the face with very good roll. Yesterday, I hit 5 drives over 300 yards the longest 340 yards with slight winds. The club is extremely accurate as I only missed one fairway. My KZG, Callaway, and new Cobra are now up for sale at bargain prices.

Me, 5'8", 100-103mph, med tempo. 11-13hcp.....well most of the time. The club: Maxima 400 8*, square face, Innovative Comp Tour MD stiff, 45", D2 Appearance: Been said, Looks small for a 400cc (actually it's 389cc I'm told), very deep face and beautiful smooth satin finish on face and sole. Deep blue head and helpful alignment mark. Distance: I've never found the magical 20 yards others claim but I do hit different drivers measurably shorter or longer. The 400 is definitely the longest I've hit. Launch is perfect, medium with plenty of roll on landing. Trajectory can be controlled by varying tee height....the head is very responsive in this manner. Forgiveness: Excellent. Toe shots are all but forgiven. Hits low on the face still travel a very respectable distance. Workability: An 11-13 has no business commenting on workability imo. This driver is straight but a slight draw or fade is not out of the question. Overall: I've been playing this driver for about 7 months and am still very impressed. I have access to many different drivers but always come back to my Max 400. Instilled confidence is very elusive but I have found that with the Max 400. Highly recommended.

What a disappointment! I have owned two other Zero Tolerance metalwoods, an original Crown Jewel driver I like a lt and aFairway Master 3-wood I wouldn't trade for anything, so I had high expectations for this club. I warmed up and was hitting my usual slight draw. Then I pulled out the ZT, and hit every ball right, some as terrible banana balls. I went back to the 3-wood and5-wood, and they all went straight or slightly left. I grabbed a demo TaylorMade R540 in the same loft and shaft as the ZT. Bingo, right down the pipe on every one. Picked up the Maxima, same swing aqnd stance, and put everyone off to the right again. I checked the face of the Maxima and every ball was right in the center of the face. Maye there's something about my swing that doesn't work with this club, but I('ll never hit it again.
