Zero Tolerance Crown Jewel Maxima 360 Drivers

DESCRIPTION

From ZT Golf: This club head is treated with a special Ionic Plasma finish which is manufactured using state of the art technology. The finish gives the head a beautiful all around look. It delivers an extraordinary amount of energy transfer with less backspin and a mid trajectory ball flight with a soft landing resulting more roll. At impact this club produces a clear high pitch sound.

I have a slow swingspeed (Recovering from a recent car accident). Tested this driver equipped with Zero Tolerence Power 55 R-flex shaft and am hitting drives longer and especially more consistantly than any driver I've owned or demo'd in 6 years of golf. Despite having a slow swingspeed of around 85mph tops, I get distances of 210-230 yds in the fairway. ZT has a number of shaft options for faster swingers as well. Superb looks and finish too (deep blue with gold alignment mark.) See also Golf Equipment Forum on Delphi

After 4 rounds and numerous driving range visits, this driver is the best one I have tried from ZT. I have the 9* with ZT Pro 65 shaft stiff at 45" and a Winn grip. The face angle is 1* closed.
The club is not any longer than any other driver I have tried recently but it is more forgiving. It is the best looking club on the market. Compared to the Spectra and Maxima 300, this by far is the most original and best design ZT has come up with this year.
Toe and heel shots have minimal loss of distance and my dad, who is 77 years old has been hitting his Maxima 360 10* with a HP500 R1 shaft and is getting 15 more yards. He was previously using a Taylor Ti 10.5.

After having this driver for a month, I have finally been able to get out and give it enough time to write a review.
This is the way I see it.

My approx. specs.:
hcp:14
ss:110-115
usually play a fade
I play EVO V-31 irons
The Club:
9 DEG with 1 deg closed face
Innovative Comp MD stiff cut to 45 in

Looks:
this club is beautiful. The metallic blue head looks great with this shaft.

Feel: The club feels great when you hit the sweet spot. It is really easy for me to tell where I have hit it on the clubface. The sound makes people think you have hit everyone on the sweet spot but you know different.

Trajectory:
This is where I am surprised. I hit this club VERY high. I hit it as high as my TM Supersteel 3 wood with S-90 Rifle shaft.

Distance:
I will break up the distance into 2 categories..carry and roll.
Carry:This club carried as far as any other long hitting club I have hit, even with the high trajectory. I was able to carry it on avg around 250-270.
Roll:this is where I lost out. I got almost no roll off of the club. The ball would hit and bounce once or twice and that was it.
Still overall distance was not bad.
I think the Spectra with the roll is a tad longer.

Ballflight:
STRAIGHT....this is the spot where the club really performed well also. I really hit this club very straight. As straight as any I have hit.

All in all, this is a great club for the money. You can't go wrong with any ZT product on the market. As much quality as any 'name brand' but much less money.

I really was not that satisfied with this driver. The distance was nothing like that of teh taylor made 300 series and the ping Tisi drivers. It was not very forgiving either so i wouldnt reccomend it to anyone

A much prettier club than the Taylormade. I feel the ball really jumps off the clubface. I hit the ball very straight with this club, on average I would say it is about 10 yards longer than the Taylormade although a perfect shot with the Taylormade is probably longer than a perfect shot with the Crown Jewel, the Crown Jewel is consistantly straighter. I don't hit that many perfect shots. I think the Snake Eyes is longer than this club but the Snake Eyes is non conforming. I still hit this club more consistantly than the Snake Eyes. My only complaint is that the headcover is to small for the club it must fit a previous smaller model. When my freind who was trying the Taylormade Tried the Crown Jewel he questioned if the club was legal after just hitting 5 balls with the club. thats a pretty high compliment

Customer Service

John was a pleasure to deal with. We discussed my game and decided to make the the clubface 1.5 degrees closed with the ZT 2.5 Ultralight shaft regular flex. The club did ship out two days later than promised, but it was promised to ship the day of the order and did go out 48 hours later.

This driver gets attention when I pull it from the bag. It's really big, even by todays standards. It as long as any driver I've hit and extremely forgiving, but has a tendency to fade and slice on me, but I'll give up a bit of accuracy for an extra 20 yards and an occasional 300+ yard drive. It stays in my bag until I foind something as long but more accurate. Be sure to use a headcover, because the finish on the top of the head chips very easily. BTW, this drive won out in head to head competition with Taylor Made 360 and 320 drivers. Similar distances and accuracy, but far less expensive.

78 yr old with swing speed of 87
Specs. for the Maxima 360-10*,46" length,ZT HP 500 R-1 shaft, Winn grip.
Played 2 rounds and have been hitting it 10-20 yards longer than the Taylor Made Ti with Prolite 45 regular at 47".Even the ones hit offcenter have not lost much distance, going about the same as solid shots with the Taylor. Both carry and roll have increased significantly.Definitely recommend this head/shaft combination for seniors.

This is an incredible driver. Looks very expensive, but didn't pay the big $$$. Very forgiving and very long. Have the 9* w/power65 stiff shaft. Played very first round with it and it was impressive. Driver gives nothing but confidence when you put a good swing on it. Lots of drives down the middle and the shaft lets you jump at the ball. Tendency to slice, but combination of shaft and size allows me to put my normal swing which produces very long drives. Why pay the big dollars when you can get one for almost half the price.

Another excellent driver from ZT!
Seriously, you can't go wrong with this company. As others have stated, the club is even better looking than the Maxima 300, especially with the Power65 shaft. Sounds great at impact, especially on pured shots. Ballflight is medium high, very long, with a bit of a tendency to fade (for me, anyway). I'm very happy with my Maxima 300, it seems to fit my game better, so I've passed the 360 on to a friend, a big hitter who absolutely kills this thing and just loves it. Buy one now!

Customer Service

John is great to deal with, very prompt and eager to please.

Model Reviewed: Zero Tolerance Maxima 360

I've taken this club on its maiden voyage this weekend as part of the Zero Tolerance tester program. Its 9 degree(measured at 10)with the face open a half degree. The lie is 56 degrees. It has the Zero Tolerance Power 65 shaft in stiff flex at 45 inches. I had been playing the ZT crown jewel spectra. I regripped it with a Players Softie grip with 2 layers of tape, because the Tour wrap it came with was slipping at the range. I don't use a glove and I live in Florida so my sweaty hands couldn't hold on as well. I am playing to an 11.8 index. I hit the Maxima 360 about the same distance as the Spectra. I was hitting my drives about 250-260 yards including roll. Like many others with this driver, I was hitting a few fades early in my round. It may have been that I didn't have complete trust in it. (Just 2 trips to the range) By the end of the round I had it dialed in. Hitting them down the middle. It has a different feel than the Spectra. When you hit the sweep spot, you know it, but on off center hits, its a little more muted. The sound it makes isn't as high pitched as the spectra. I found that the trajectory between the two was comparable. My Spectra is 9-degrees with the ZT Pro 2.5 shaft in stiff flex at 45 inches. It is 1.5 degrees closed. Zero Tolerance has made a pair of great drivers and for now the Maxima is staying in my bag. I like the looks of it a little better, but the Spectra is waiting in the wings should it fail.

Customer Service

John at ZT has been very good to work with.
