$149 now at The Golf Warehouse - buy these now. Although I have played a few rounds of golf each year, I didn't get serious until spring of 2002. I joined a club and shot in the 120s. Over time, I have added clubs based primarily on reviews. This club is one example. I now shoot in the low 80s and have scored as low as 78. As recently as yesterday, it appeared that I would break 80 again. Here is the bottom line. This club hits the ball far - but I've learned the hard way that you can't swing to hard. I am literally driving short par 4s and if I get all of it am hitting at or over 300 yards. I've got plenty of other clubs - none can do what this one can.

Great driver. Bought it without a testdrive, based soley on reviews. I found it a long hitting accurate driver, and hardly any weight to it. I was very pleased with it.

My father purchased one of these drivers, and I have used it a few times. First thing I noticed about the club was it's weight, or lack thereof. The head feels hollow (perhaps it is, I don't know) and the shaft feels like it will snap on impact. Secondly, the club made an awful noise on impact. Not the sound I am used to when using other drivers. I found this club very difficult to hit, and those that were contacted squarely went anything but far (could easily match it with my cheap 3 wood). All in all I wouldn't believe the hype, this is definitely not the club for me. But at the same time my father seems pleased with it so to each his own.

This driver is amazing! The distance, color, and overall preformance. I demoed this club and was amazed at the results. Straight shots with unmatched distance. Who says this club sucks? Wilson has done a great job with this club!!!

I got a full set of Ping eye-2 irons along with this Wilson Deep Red driver for $300 from a friend who had just bought another set. The driver was impressive from the get go. It's "Deep Red" color and the sound that it made when you took practice swings was sweet. Once you hit with the Fat Shaft though...Oh my god, it's wicked. The large sweet spot on the club head makes it easy to contact. Even off center, you can take it 250+ yards. ...And the sound the driver makes when it hits the ball is PUNISHING! The fat shaft is no gimmick either. The only issue with this driver is that the 10.5 degree, I feel, is too much. I think the 9.5 would be better for me. However, considering that I just started to play golf again, I think that my 6'1", 197lb, frame can get it all together and shoot lower scores in dew time. alohas, Kapono

I was happy to read so many glowing reviews of this club, because I was beginning to think I was out of my mind, or that I'd just had beginner's luck with this thing. I tried a demo version of this club a few days ago, and was BLOWN AWAY! I normally have some difficulty using a driver off the tee, and normally revert to my Callaway 3-wood- and my performance with it is spotty at best. However, after just one or two hits, I was consistently blasting this thing 275-300 straight down the middle. Truly amazing!! I used the irons that day also, and was equally amazed- incredibly long and straight as an arrow. The bottom line- I only got to try them on the back nine, but I took my score from the 50 I'd shot earlier that day with my clubs, to a 40 with this set! And since I normally shoot better on the front nine, that means a possible score somewhere in the high 70s?! That just doesn't happen to me. Needless to say, I went out the next day and bought a set. The fat shaft/funny looking weight block thing is not hype- it works! It's too bad that many people will pass these clubs over because they don't have the "snob appeal" of the Callaways, Taylor Mades, etc. But for those who have tried 'em, they know- DEEP RED RULES!

I see all of these reviews from players in their seventees and eightees, and I wonder where they all are on the course. I am a 20 handicapp, but most of my shortcomings are my failure to drive a long straight ball. The remainder of my game is pretty solid. I have been using a Callaway driver for some time, and for the most part, it is ok. I started hitting the Deep Red because my golfing partner bought one. It really works well. I am having 80% success, and hitting the ball further. I still slice occassionally, but the shorter shaft and bigger sweet spot have helped. It is a nice driver. And boy is it perrty.

Model Reviewed: 365cc 12deg stiff

I have Taylor Made 360 9.5deg stiff, 45.5" shaft. It is an awesome club. The first club that I could hit well. But I was still putting a ball or sometimes two out of bounds per round. I was on the driving range, and the guy next to me let me hit his Wilson Deep red (305cc) regular shaft. While I found the shaft soft, the ball stayed very straight. I bought the Wilson driver about 3 months ago. I had to send it back because with the stiff shaft 9 deg was too stiff. Now, with the 12 deg, I have definitely lost some distance relative to the TM, but I have so much confidence with this club! Only on a wide open course (with adjacent fairways) would I take out the TM now. Sometimes I even leave the 3 wood out, and take both the drivers, and use Wilson as the safe driver on tighter holes. I can usually get around 240-260 with this club. It is possible to hit the wilson of the deck, but I can get more than around 210-220 out of it, which again is fine. So: very easy, very forgiving club.

there's nothing like blasting a golf ball a couple hundred yards straight in front of you with all your friends watching. you'll do this on every hole with the WDR. its an amazing driver. i couldn't believe how straight it was, and the more confidence i had in swing the club the easier i found a 300+ yard drive. a nice easy swing with the WDR will get you 270 straight as an arrow. if you blast it you'll cut any par five down by 2/3 easy. on the 9th hole i played the first day i took it out i hit the ball so hard i couldn't even see the ball leave the tee or travel the 330 some yard in front of me. i never thought i'd ever think to myself "alright, now don't drive it too far on this hole, its only 350 yards." everytime i pull this thing out to tee off it put a smile on my face because it looks so good and because you know you're gonna crush the ball. it helps to look forward to pull out your driver on every hole. for the price the WDR can't be beat, i can't imagine how any driver could out-do this one. the WDR makes golf fun, even if it takes you 4 or 5 strokes to put the ball in the hole after a 300+ yard drive!!!! buy this club, it'll put a smile on your face!
