I have been using old Callaways as drivers and decided to upgrade. I tried the Nike 350 and 450 - did'nt feel good. The Cleveland Launcher 400 was OK. I did not want to spend the extra bucks for the Taylor made 500 series or the BBII, so did not try them. During a visit to Portland, the pro-shop suggested i try the Cobra SS 427 and the Wilson Deep Red II. I liked both the clubs, but the Wilson's perfomance and consistency really shocked me. What distance, trajectory and consistency. I usually drive to around 200/220 yards, but this one blew way past the 250 mark (the end of the driving range!). Got it at a great price too, and certainly worth it compared to the $400 drivers around..

A very, very pleasant surprise. It is very easy to hit well. I can only echo the other positive reviews on the Deep Red II. For fun, I tried to hook it, but ended up in the fairway. I tried to slice it, but ended up in the fairway. I guess there is a downside here -- if your course has several doglegs demanding a severely crooked ball flight, then either don't get this club or, better yet, buy the club and find a new golf course. I am being brief only to avoid redundancy. This club will fill the bill for me until the next big jump in technology in a few years.

This club is great it is very forgiving. I was looking for a club that would give me the distance I needed yet still not make me pay when I miss the sweet spot. I can put 8 or 10 down the middle of the fair way and the other 2 are only a little wide. This is a great club for the golfer looking for distance and a forgiving club. I shoot in the low 90's to high 80's

This Club ROCKS!!! My drives used to be around 240-280 yards and now with this driver i've been driving consistently over 310 yards. It's a really forgiving club.

I went to the golf shop the other day to continue my driver search which has been going on for about 4 months now. At the golf shop they had a computer system with a display that showed everything about your swing and the ball flight. Keep in mind that i normaly slice the ball with my current driver which is a Callaway Hawk Eye VFT. The first club that i tried was the Cleveland Launcher 400 which is supposed to help you hit straighter shots. I thought it would help me to because it did with the fairway woods. Not so. Went way to the right. Next i tried the King Cobra 380 which is supposed to be more forgin=ving from 9 places across the clubface to lead you to straighter shots. Not so. Also went to the right. Next club i tried was the Taylor Made R580 which is supposed to give you 15 yards of straighter distance. It was far better that the others with the ball landing on th right side of the fairway farther than the others. Then the guy at the shop just sugested that i try the wilson. So i did. It went consistantly farther and straighter than the Taylor Made which is supposed to be the longest out there. The feel was also exceptional and it did not feel likt the club head was as big as it actually is.(400cc) To sum it up, top name brand is not always the best, try the Wilson Deep Red II distance driver if you are looking to hit the ball straighter, and farther and see for yourself. plus the fact that it is $100 dollars cheaper than most premium clubs out there dosen't hurt. so as wilson says go deep go straight!

Customer Service

The costomer service at Golf etc. was exceptional. They were excited with all the stuff i wanted to try and were more than willing to tape the clubs up for me and sugest this great driver to me. Golf etc. are located around the country, mostly on the east cost. So if there is one by you check them out.

Best Driver I've ever hit. Straight, and long. Normally hit high fade but with the higher kick point and stiff shaft get low, boring drives that roll and roll. Liked it so much, tried the irons and dumping my X-14s asap. And at 1/4th the price I'd normally pay for a so-called killer driver I couldn't be happier!!

I purchased this club after demoing it at a local course. I have been playing the Cobra 427 for over a year and have thouroughly enjoyed it. It's a blast to hit, and when I pure it, it goes forever. However, my misses tended to be severe. I fight a fade/slice vs. a pull and when I was off, the Cobra was way left or right. After demoing the Wilson and putting the same swings on it, my misses right were more like fades than slices and my pulls were in the left short rough. Distance on flush shots is not as long as the Cobra, but my average distances are better because of the better lateral control. I'm keeping the Cobra, it's just too much fun, but I'm going to play the Wilson when I want to be in the fairway or near to it more often when my swing might not be as tight as I want it. When my swing gets on a groove (only a couple of times a year), I'll break out the Cobra and go for the bigger hits. It's actually a nice luxury to have two drivers with different personalities. PSA - There are a log of sellers on eBay with good prices on this new driver. Worth checking out...but demo it first...that's always a good idea.

Awesome driver I went to a demo at a golf shop. There was every golf company there. I hit every driver you could think of. The Deep Red II Distance driver was the longest and straitest. I played 18 holes with it and added 15+ yards. I love this driver. Even on toe hits it goes long and straight. Im 13 and 5 foot. I usually dont hit long but with this. Plus its $100 less than most premium drivers.

Customer Service

The Wilson sales rep. was helpful and gave me a free hat and balls when i bought the driver.

This is a brilliant golf club. I just played my first 18 holes with it, but have taken it to the range several times since buying it. Very forgiving and very long when you hit it well. Even on drives where I hit it towards the toe, I still got close to 300 yards with a lovely draw. The look, feel and weighting of the club are exceptional. The best drives I had were when I made a smooth, balanced swing. When I tried to kill it, I got into some trouble, but nothing like with other drivers I've owned. I bought this driver because I also have the Deep Red irons, and like them so much I thought I'd try the woods as well. Wilson is really on the money with the Deep Red line of clubs. They are really outstanding.

Customer Service

Customer service at Golf Plus in Calgary was exceptional. I custom ordered the club and it was there within five days. The price I paid is in Canadian Dollars, so might seem a little high to most of you.
