I have a 9.5* 905T with a stiff Fujikura Tour Platform 27.3 shaft. I've only played three rounds with this club but already, it's easily won me over. Maybe even more than the clubhead, this shaft is awesome. For the first time, I can actually feel a shaft load and unload through impact. It feels more flexible than it plays and responds to both smooth swings and gorilla smashes. The 905T clubhead is in so many ways, typical Titleist. It feels very solid and has that famous classic look to it. Pear-shape, deep enough face, and its 400cc's don't appear as large with its charcoal gray color. I've found the club to be very long and forgiving. It's not like I'm splitting every fairway, but my misses are much better while my solid swings are jaw-dropping (at least, to me). Easily the most that I've spent on a club ($385, shipped), but considering how I feel over the ball and at impact, it's a bargain. This is the best fit that I've found for myself with regard to shaft and clubhead, by far. And it's earned a spot in my bag for a long time to come.

Model Reviewed: Titleist 905T

After trying all the new drivers on the market recently, I finally had the chance to play with the new Titleist 905T. It's a whopping 400cc which I honestly thought was bit too large until I actually setup over the ball and began my round. I immediately became comfortable, and actually felt very confident. I think the classic Titleist pear-shape look helps. Any larger than 400cc and I seriously think I would have to pass but the 905T is perfect. The Taylor Made R7 is very nice but the cartridge technology is a bit too "spacey" for me, and the new Nike Ignite driver is so huge it looks like it needs a hood ornament. As far as distance, it is obviously long, as are all the .830 COR drivers, so I cannot say it has added 'tons' of yardage. If it did add any length off the tee for me, it was marginal. It definitley is not shorter than any of the other premium drivers. I chose a 10.5 driver. I figure if Vijay is playing a 10.5; Tiger and most of the pros are all using more loft on their drivers, maybe I should too. It does sound a little different than the 983K, but it is hardly noticeable, and I actually like the sound. The single most important consideration is the shaft you choose for this quality head. I have used the Fujikura shafts for the last couple of years and they are the best on the market in my opinion. But for some reason I got the best performance from the Aldila NV 65 Stiff. So I went with it - (even though I was torn between this and the Speeder). I am very pleased, my ball flight is exactly what I want. The Fujikura seemed to go a bit too low for me, even with teeing it higher. The greatest attribute I can give to the 905T is that it is absolutely the most forgiving driver Titleist has made, and I have played period. It feels like such an advantage teeing up a ProV1 and and sending it down the fairway with this driver. I was very impressed with this new model. I'm glad I tried all the drivers/shaft/lofts before making my final decision. I'm glad to the search is over.

After playing with Cobra, BB454, and 580XD, I found the large heads simply too distracting, so I decided to go back to more traditional setup. I settled on the 905T 10.5 regular stock shaft because of the pear shape head design, and the head size (405CC) is a good balance of forgiveness and tradition. It gives me 10-20 yards due to increased roll. Easy on the eye at address position. The feedback very pleasant and pure.

what a great club this is i have been struggling for a bit of the tee, changed from t.mr54oxd to cobra440, and have demoed everything out there, but this driver just sits perfect at address and swings great. i have added about 10-15yds with this driver. i usually use either 9 or 10.5 deg loft but my pro said go for the 11.5 coz you need to get the ball airborn quickly with the modern day balls. i am so glad i took his advice the hang time is unreal, and when it lands you still get a bit of roll. my local pro has also got the 11.5deg but obviously a different shaft. luke donald, ernie els, adam scott, even tigers new ignite is 2deg more loft. all these pros and more have all gone up 1 or 2 degrees in modern day drivers and its all because of the modern balls, if you want to get more out of this driver i sugest you try the same you will be amazed at the difference

The 905T is an improvment over the 983k and the 983 was king of the hill as far as I was concerned. Distance, alignment, dispersion, accuracy is outstanding. I tried the Ping G2 (which is also awesome), the Cleveland Comp 460,Orlimar 440, Nike Ignite and Mizuno 460. The Orlimar was the longest and the Ping next. The Titleist classic good looks and excellent overall performance made it #1 for me. The 905T has more of a metallic sound than the 983K whick is okay by me. unlike the 983K, this club is dead neutral - no draw bias. Be sure to get fitted on a lauch monitor because the loft and shaft combos make a big differance.

Model Reviewed: Titleist 905T 10.5 YS-6+ Regular

I would just like to begin by saying that I am a seventeen year old high school golfer. For the past few months I have struggled with hitting the consistent drives one needs to perform. However, I have always been a Titleist fan, using a 983K with the speeder. A few swing changes following its purchase have made it a little difficult to get the shaft to perform consistently(swing speed 105). One of my teammates had just bought a 905T 10.5* with a regular flex YS-6 shaft. Being a Titleist, I could not wait to try it out. Luckily my chance came very soon. Upon the first strike with this driver, I knew that this was a driver I needed to have. One of the best qualities about this driver is that Titleist has stuck with its roots. That being a true pear design that is not as big as some of the giants of the other clubmakers. That being said, this driver has a more metallic sound at impact compared to the "thud" you would get with the 983K. This is one change that I think is a plus, and it will only allow the 905T to be accepted by non-Ttleist players. With the metallic sound comes a livelier feeling face that only improves the feel over previous drivers. Now being a teenager, I am not going to gloat about or promise a large increse in distance. What I can say is that the distance is comparable to the 983K on solid strikes but the distance and forgiveness on off-center hits has improved greatly. All I know is that I am going to pick up one of these all be it with a 9.5* stiff shaft. I recommend that loyal Titleist fans as well as non Titleist players try this driver.

Model Reviewed: Titleist 905T Driver

Over the last 3-months, I've experimented with 4 different drivers in my bag - started with the 983K (9.5 Prolite), which I've sworn by for 2-years, switched to the Ping G2 (10*, Aldila NV65R), tried the Cleveland Comp 460 (9.5*, stock Fuji Stiff) and finally the Titleist 905T (10.5*, Aldila NV65R) - SATISFACTION AT LAST !!! The Ping helped me gain a good 10/20 yards relative to the 983K, thanks mainly to a higher ball launch angle/ball flight, and was easier to move both ways relative to the draw-biased 983K. The Cleveland delivered a "hotter" more penetrating ball flight, but with a distinct draw bias. However, both cost me in terms of accuracy and feel, never a worthwhile compromise, so the quest continued....the 905T to me delivers the perfect compromise. Dispersion, accuracy, ease of alignment, are the best of any driver I've hit, and believe me tried them all ! The NV shaft combined with the 10.5* head delivers the perfect penetrating ball flight, very easy to hit with minimal effort. While somewhat longer than the 983K, and perhaps not as long as the G2 or Comp 460, the accuracy, remarkable easy of use, usual Titleist classic good looks made it a very easy choice for me.... Titleist enthusiasts (myself included) might be slightly disappointed with the feel (more of a metallic sound relative to the truly awesome "thud" feel of the 983K). Like the Ping G2, this club is dead neutral - no draw bias etc, everything wants to go dead straight, another difference relative to the 983K. This club may lose out to bigger heads like the G2, Comp 460 in this distance obsessed marketplace (I still own both - it is kind of cool to blow a drive close to the 300 yard mark every once in a while !) but in terms of overall performance the boys at Titleist have a winner once again. For reference, my swing speed is around 90-95MPH, definitely a swinger rather than a hitter of the ball ie slow, medium tempo, 7-handicap.

Very satisfied in the past (custom fit irons etc)

Model Reviewed: Titleist 905T NV65 Stiff

I switched from a 983K with the stock Speeder stiff. A great club in it's own right, I was seeking a slightly higher trajectory and level of forgiveness. The 905T definitely provides both. I can't say that the 905T is any longer than the 983K, when both are hit in the sweet spot at the same launch angle, but there is no doubt that 905T will give you more distance on off center hits. The other difference I noticed is that the 905T does not seem to have the draw bias of the 983K, which may be good news for those who already have a natural draw. With the NV65 I'm getting a dead straight flight. It can, however, be shaped. The stability and accuracy of the NV65 with the 905T head is remarkable. Another low handicapper at the range, who has a higher swing speed than mine, which is around 95 mph, borrowed it and got the same level of accuracy. On average, I'd say that I'm picking up 10-15 yards over the 983K, again due to the forgiveness, but also because of the improved launch angle. On the monitor, my launch angle was showing 13 degrees with the occasional 12 and 14. If in fact I'm getting 13 in actual play, then I'd say it's a perfect trajectory for air time and roll. May not be what the books say, but I'm seeing the results. Prior to buying the 905T, I demo'd the Ping G2 and Cleveland Comp 460. They are good clubs with a high level of forgiveness. I don't want to knock them because I'm sure they will play great in someone else's hands. I just found the shot dispersion much tighter with the 905T and NV65. As for distance, well every club is now .83 COR, so pay attention to your own needs for launch angle, forgiveness and accuracy. Fianlly try to demo all the shafts, if possible. It doesn't look like reshafting these clubs will be easy because of the new aluminum hosel tube. Titleist actually has a disclaimer that the warranty is void if reshafting is not done by them. I hope I made a helpfull contribution, as I have often used this site for advice.

I took this club out as a demo at my country club and I must say that i am not too impressed. I currently have a 983k 9.5 degree and although it doesnt go as far off the tee as the 905t it has a lot better feel. The 905t seems to make the ball go about 5-10 yards further, which honestly isnt much. I am going to stick with my K for the time being, i just love it to much to change.
