I bought the Titleist 905R with the Speeder Stiff-flex shaft. This club looks great with the classic pear shape and inspires confidence with the way it sets up behind the ball. My last driver was a Cleveland Launcher and I was very happy with it but the head was a little beat up and it was time for a replacement. I demoed the R7, the Hi-bore, the M-speed, and the 905R, of the 4 drivers the Titleist was the most consistent for distance and length. I've played about 15 rounds with this club now and all I can say is this thing is never leaving my bag...I'm driving the ball longer and straighter then I ever have.

I have played a 983K for 2 years (975J before that) and had seen my peers and pros switch to larger drivers. After much trial and error in the 460cc driver class I found the 905R to be the first club from Titleist that can compete against other company's offering in both performance AND forgiveness. Square face and traditional pear profile are true to the brand's heritage but the new found forgiveness is a welcome change. After 10 rounds I am still loving the balance. While still not for every player, this driver is without question the best Titleist has ever produced. I would suggest when shopping that you get fit to the right loft and shaft combination for ANY driver. Higher price than others in the category, but in my opinion worth it.

This is an excellent club.

This is the first time I buy a Titleist driver because with previous models I either found them not forgiving enough (probably due to my higher handicap) or not too long.
In the past I have been playing mainly Taylor Made drivers. I thought I was not going to find a better driver than my R7 TP after I reshafted it with the Proforce V2 until I tried the 905R.

In my opinion, the strong points of the driver are:

- Forgiveness: if you have a fair swing this driver will definitively help you to maintain the ball in the fairway. Off center hits do not have a significant loss of distance.
- Feel: solid feel at impact and excellent balance of the club that lets you know during the swing where exactly the clubface is.
- Distance: on par with the best.
- Workability: the square face does not hide an open face at impact but allows you to draw of fade the ball at ease.
- Appearance: great looks and the sensation at adress that you are driving a smaller head.

The weaker: a lousy grip if you don´t like corded ones.

Finally, take your time to find the right shaft, I don´t want to recommend my particular choice cause I understand that the options are wide enough to find the right fit.

Have a great game.

All I can say is WOW!!!

I have tried a number of drivers over the last couple of years; nothing even comes close to this head/shaft combo.

I can swing as hard as I like and at the most I get a nice little draw. This is the most workable 460cc driver I have ever tried.

It is also a good 10 yards longer than most others I have tried--again, probably as much to do with the shaft as with the head.

I'm 21 years old with an average swing. I'm not here to tell you that I've hit the longest drive ever or that I drove a par 4 or whatever story anyone else tells. I'm going to be honest with you. I am club crazy. I know a LOT about golf equipment and have tried every new driver out there. I will only test a driver that has the new UST Proforce V2 Shaft in it. That's by far the best shaft out there for the better player. You can swing as hard as you'd like and know that the ball is not going left.
Here's a list of the drivers I've owned:
1. Titleist 975D
2. Titleist 975L FE
3. Cleveland Launcher
4. Titleist 983K
5. Ping G2
6. Ping G5
7. Titleist 905T
8. Taylor Made R580XD
9. Taylor Made R510TP
10. Taylor Made R7
11. Taylor Made R7TP
12. MacGregor MacTec NVG2

Out of all those drivers I can't compare to the Titleist 905R. I don't know what it is about this club. I took it out as a back up when I was getting my NVG2 re-shafted and I turned around and bought it.

I drive the ball no further than 265 with any normal driver. That's not much, but I'm usually straight, if not a little left. I took this driver out and was hitting down the middle with little draw around 275. I have NEVER felt this confident standing over the ball with a driver in my hand. I felt like a could swing as hard as I could knowing that ball was going to find fairway. One thing I would recomend is to try out as many shafts as you can. I have the 905R in 9.5* with the UST Proforce V2 Stiff 76g Shaft. It's a great combination. This driver is by far the best driver out there.

One word, "SOLID". I am a die hard Titleist player, been hitting their drivers since the first day the 975D was released and I have to say every model gets longer and longer. My latest driver was a 983k which I though I would never get rid of, hit it 290 all day long. Tried the 905R for the first time, hit it maybe 10 times and bought it. Best drive I have ever hit. Only objection I have is the weight, its lighter then my 983k which im still adjusting to. Replace with a REALLY stiff and heavier shaft and the 905R is MONEY!

The new Titleist is one of the first new drivers I have tried that gives great control to the player as well as domintaing distance. I had never been able to hit Titleist drivers before but this driver made me go against
taylormade and choose the new 905 r. One of the better features of the club is the fact that it will give great results to off center contact. I am 16 years old and in my last round drove a ball onto a 330 yard green i hit it staright every time and my swing is not mechanical. I tried all other drivers but this one is superior to its competition.

What a great club! Been playing a 983K for awhile and thought of upgrading to newer technology. So I bought the Cleveland Hibore, what a mistake. First of all the look of the head and the sound of the ball off the face is terrible. Next, I was very inconsistent, I hit my 983K just as far and straighter than the Hibore. Why did I ever go away from Titleist in the first place! SO I traded in the Hibore for the 905R, what a difference. It was like night and day. I hit the 905R farther and straighter than ever before. The 905R is good and miss hits also. Definitely would recomend this driver over any other driver out there now.
