Titleist 983K 10.5
This is the best driver i have ever had I got the 983K 10.5 degree with the titleist 4560 R-Flex Shaft. My last driver was a Nike 8 degree with a proforce R-flex shaft. With my nike i use to hit the ball 260 consistently and carried the ball about 250 yards but now with the titleist I carry the ball about 275 and get plenty of roll. And the best thing about the 983K it is so accurate. but you need to make sure you get the right shaft and degree combinations. 983K 8.5 degree Aldila NV 65 shift shaft. I truly enjoy ripping this thing. Longest drives I have ever had, since I have been playing. This shaft in this thing is dead on for me. I am carrying the ball 255-270 yards STRAIGHT down the middle. Thank God that I have finally stopped wasting $ on drivers...... Everyone stated that Titleist was hard to hit not for me, also play 762 irons. 8.5* Grafalloy Stiff
After comparing this club to my old Ping ISI 8.5*, 9.5* 983K,8.5* 983E, Taylor Made, Cleveland Launcher 330 & 400, King Cobra and Callaway Big Bertha II, I finally decided on this club. Initially the other new drivers felt more "lively" but the Titleist was consistantly straighter, and as long or longer then the others(on the range). Maybe it is the shaft in the Titleist's. Between the 3 titleist drivers, I thought that the 9.5* would suit me best, but found that the flight seemed to balloon a bit more than the 8.5*(this surprised me because I have a swing speed I think would be better suited to the 9.5 or above loft). So I purchased the 8.5, and took it right to the course and was having trouble finding the fairway and getting the distance that I was on the range(OMG, should I just use range balls all the time?). It took a couple of weeks with me trying everything from considering a new driver(the 9.5), to getting lessons and basically trying something new on virtually every swing. Finally, I picked-up some of those extra-long tees, teed the ball up higher then I have ever done, and swinging up and thru the ball. Now I have the club that i thought I was purchasing initally, good, long(for me) boring shots with a hint of a draw. I think most of my problems to begin with were caused by my expectations to gain incredible distances with this club, which caused me to over-swing, and come over-the-top frequently. Now, if I stay under control, tee it up higher, and swing out at my target, I get the results I had hoped for. this has been my best driver to date, and has me wanting to play everyday(I live in Michigan, it's fall and I am running out of golf weather in late October). I have played Titleist equipment on and off for about 32years(Accubar irons, 962's, PT woods,Bullseye putters, Vokey wedges...) and I feel their clubs keep raising their own standard with each new piece of equipment. I highly recommend this driver be one of the clubs you demo before buying anything. Though not inexpensive worth it to me... Customer Service Have not used them. Titleist 983K 9.5 degrees
I paid $264.00 because of gift certificates and discount received for playing at our Club Championship. It's been my "best Driver" so far! I got the 983K 9.5 degree with the Fujikura R-Flex Shaft. My last driver was a Mizuno T-Zoid 9 degree with a "stiff-regular" shaft. I'm not a long hitter - I consistently carried the ball about 220 yards with my Mizuno. Now I carry the ball about 250 and get plenty of roll. It's been my longest driver so far! I have been hitting short irons on Par 4s where I used to have to use mid-irons. My "bad swings" with my old driver produced a slice. The heel weighting on the 983K have greatly reduced my slice (I can only recall 2 in the last 6 rounds). Ball trajectory is much higher than my Mizuno. Ball explodes off the clubface at impact! It feels a little bit heavier than my Mizuno but added weight allows me to feel the clubhead throughout my swing. I can even draw the ball now at will! This is a great driver but I recommend a test drive before purchasing one. Because of the heel-weighting, this might not be a good choice who tend to hit big draws or hook the ball. Customer Service Haven't used. Similar Products Used: Callaway Great Big Bertha 8 degree Firm Flex, Titleist 975D 9.5, Mizuno T-Zoid 9 degree. |

A very good driver. I would recommend before purchasing the driver to test out all the different shafts and lofts. The shaft is key to the 983k. I didn't like the standard shafts that the 983K came with. I was lucky enough to demo a driver that had a 8.5 deg. AJ TECH 75 Z TOUR shaft. I hit around 10 balls with it and fell in love with it. The club is designed to have a moderate to high launch angle. If you have a positive launch angle like myself, I would recommend to test out 8.5 or 7.5 degree. The 9.5 degree went way to high for me. The face of this club it hot. The ball will FLY !!!!!! This Driver is EXPLOSIVE!!I enjoy hearing my golf partners yell "OOH S- -T" ! Customer Service SLOW!! It took titleist 4 weeks to ship out my order. The GOLF PARK was nice enough to let me hold there demo. Similar Products Used: callaway VFT,GBB11 , TAYLORMADE 540 |

I had the oppurtunity to play today and WOW!!! I have the Speeder Shaft Stiff. I dont know what the 983e is like but this is the best feeling driver I have experienced. The shaft responds very nicely and the ball gets up very smoothly too. I had a drive of over 300 at least twice and 285 or so at least 5 other times and by the way all in the fairway. 983K 9.5 Reg Graffaloy (Red)
Before buying, read all your reviews, so thought only decent to add mine having bought one of these beasts. Nearly bought off internet in impatience to get one, but they let me down - local pro started getting them in & I was able to try diff lofts & Hcr & Non Hcr versions, but only Grafalloy & standard grey shafts - I have been a 7 handicapper, driving 250 on good day, straight is strength & gd short game, but always enjoyed lashing the old 1 wood - got Titliest D aout 24 mths ago, started looking at newer tech this yr, as TMades seemed v long. Tried 300 series, then 500s, but more impressed with the Titliest FE, and esp the JS, but by then pro couldn't get shaft & loft I wanted - had been convinced I wanted 10.5, YS-6, reg, and Non-HCr in 983, as I tend not to hit very high and who wants an illegal club in 4 yrs. However, found I was perfectly able to use red Grafalloy, regular shaft, which feels solid & looks great (do not underestimate looks, enjoy everything about the game), and the head hits high even on slow speed swing, so 9.5 degree fine. Contact feels & sounds solid, maybe not as much as D, but sounds great when surrounded by tinny noises of other big heads. Distances maybe 10-20 yds on old D, but, & this is why I'm happy - I am hitting every fairway, and my poorer strikes are still out at the 200-220 mark - I have had my best ever level par round & handicap down to 6, which as any golfer at that level & pushing 50 knows, it is hard to find that extra 10-20% improvement. Soz for going on, but this is not just a club for the super-heroes - please try, a joy all round. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: Titliest D, JS, FE - Taylor Made 320, 360, 540 |

I picked up this driver on a whim. I was struggling with my 975L-FE and I needed something different. I went to the 10.5 degree (from 9.5 in the L-FE) with the Graphite Design YS 9.1 shaft. I added considerable distance (15+, no kidding) and some accuracy. I don't know if it's the head, the shaft, or the loft that has made the difference. Honestly, I don't care. This club has completely transformed the way I drive the ball. Customer Service I have no experience with it. I started with this club when all the new 2003 drivers came out, did not like it at first because I was not used to the 365cc head. Tried all kinds of drivers (GBB II -good, Cobra SS - good, Cleveland 400-very good, Titleist 983E, J and JVS - good, MacGregor V Foil - good)) but went back to the 983K with a Titleist 4560 Regular flex graphite shaft. It has a very solid feel and is the longest of all the drivers I tried-I found myself hitting shorter irons second shot. The traditional shape, dark finish and gray shaft is beautiful - good looking club and performs great as well. What I found out is that a lot of the top line drivers are all great - but will only perform if you have the right shaft based on your swing tempo and speed. Customer Service Have not tried.
