I first got this club with a Grafalloy 4565 shaft (similar to Prolite) with stiff flex, but it was too stiff for me. I put in a Grafalloy Blue R flex in it, and I am thoroughly satisfied with this combo. I gained 30-40 yards in a year (got it in Nov 2002), BUT I have to take in account that I've grown in height and muscle mass this year. However, my driving has become my strength when it was my weakness before. This club is very similar in performance with the 983E, but the 983E would probably be longer and tighter with the Graf Blue in it. In other words the shaft makes A LOT of difference in any club. And another thing, What is the deal with people rating half of the reviews on this site 1 of 5 stars? Come on now, most of em are not that bad! Customer Service None, since it was bought off eBay Similar Products Used: Jazz Golf Beta Ti with Prolite Elite R flex |

This is a great driver. I hit it long(about 275-280) and then get roll with it. Thing is, i am only 16, so this is what i always dreamed about. I have been hitting it very straight lately, and have now developed an inconsistent draw, but, it still is a great driver. I would reccomend it to all. A little update.. I got this about 5 months ago and since then my swing speed has gotten much higher and now I am getting way too much spin!!!! 5 yards of roll with 250 carry. If you are having a problem with ballooning drives. STAY AWAY!!! I do have to say it is deadly accurate still. The distance just isn't there. |

The 975L-FE is solid and surprisingly long. Club is really impressive. Straight to slight fade that you can count on consistently. Great with the Prolite 4565 shaft. Best driver I've hit in the last two years! Similar Products Used: Titleist 975D, Callaway VFT, Cobra 350, Taylor Made 300 |

Titleist 975 LFE
Took up golf one summer about five years ago, and hadn't played at all in the past four years. so basically, i'm new to the game of golf, and I recently purchased the 975 LFE (10.5º) after trying out at least 10 different drivers. Like many beginning golfers, I hit most drives with a pretty bad slice, especially with my older, smaller driver (Callaway Big Bertha War Bird). Other reviewers say not to buy this club if you have a slice, but I completely disagree. My slice is now a fade, and I hit quite a few perfectly straight. Distance wise, I didn't notice much difference between this club with the others...most of my drives were carrying 215-225, and I was getting at least 25 yds. of roll. I'm not a long hitter at all...my 7 iron only goes about 130. but i'm finally hitting it straight off the tee, and i expect to be breaking into double digits once i get on the course. i found this club to be very forgiving. even on mis-hits, i was surprised to see the ball only 25-30 yds. off line. The feel at impact is very nice, and it doesn't have that tinny sound that the Callaways make. Since I use the 10.5º, my loft is a little higher than the better players, but it's a pretty ball flight to watch. I didn't demo different shafts, but the pro at the store said the Ultralight 60 is fine, and since I'm a beginner, I probably should go with the standard shaft. I'd also like to mention that the Cleveland Launcher was my 2nd favorite, slightly outperforming the GBBII. The others were all inconsistent for me. Customer Service haven't ever needed it. 975 LFE Purple Ice
I recently went to this club after playing the 975 JVS for the past year. While the JVS was probably the best feeling club I've ever played and has great distance, I really had a problem with losing the ball to the left when my swing tempo was anything but smooth and slow. With the LFE, my predominant ball flight is a straight, medium trajectory shot with lots of roll. The Purple Ice shaft is great, adding to the feel of the club and really geting the ball up in the air. I find this club much more controllable than the JVS, easy to hit straight or with a draw. Distance is right up there with the JVS, probably a few yards further due to the extra roll I get. It definitely has a duller sound than the JVS, which gave a nice "crack" at impact, but still has that great persimmon feel the 975 series is famous for. It's not overly forgiving for it's size, but still a great club for the money. If you're a player who has trouble losing the ball left, give it a try, you'll be very pleased. 975 L FE
Switched to the L FE (from jvs) bcoz I was having a hard time fading the ball. As they say, careful what you ask for. This club (for me) has one shot and one shot only - fade right. I could not recall my natural draw when I needed it - in fact, I couldn't draw this thing if I had to with a whole bucket of range balls. I also found the club to be a bit hollow with a remarkably small sweetspot for a 350 cc sized head. As some might be thinking - the shaft was not the problem. I play the same YS-6 stiff flexed shaft in my 3 wood, and love it. An overall review of this club would be that it launches the ball high, it really really likes to go right, very unworkable, very hollow feeling and somewhat unforgiving for such a large head. About the only positive thing I can say about this club is that it's asthetically beautiful and it certainly long - as long as you like long right. Going back to the JVS - it's what's best for me.... Customer Service Communication service is fantastic. Never had a need to send a club back for mechanical service. Similar Products Used: 975 JVS, Hawkeye GBB, Callaway Steelhead Plus, 975 D |

975 L-FE 8.5 Bimatrix stiff
Just returned from test driving a number of new drivers at a local pro shop. I had initially researched on this site and other review sites and thought I had narrowed my search to two different drivers: the Taylor Made R540 and the King Cobra SS350. I started with these two drivers with their stock stiff shafts. The Cobra was very wild - wicked banana slices and straight pulls. The T.M. was a little more consistant, but not much. I tried a UST Proforce 65 in the R540 - trajectory too low. Tried Mitsubishi Rayon shaft - beautiful shaft - VERY STIFF. Too stiff for me. On a whim I looked through their Titleist closeout bag. I spotted this club - L-FE with Bimatrix shaft. Decided to try it. It took a few swings to get used to the heavier shaft. But what control when I did. Gentle fades were easy. Very consistant. More than with any of the other drivers that I had hit that day. The extra weight in the shaft helps to keep my swing in check, but still gives the distance and accuracy that I was looking for. GREAT CLUB. Customer Service Always answer my questions promptly. Very professional. Similar Products Used: Titleist 975D, Wilson Deep Red, Taylor Made 320, Taylor Made 200 steel(great club) |

Okay, I'm sick of all the reviews on this site talking about how they hit 300yds. and what not. Seriously, either check your egoes, learn how to measure off a yard, (3 feet or 36 inches) I highly doubt all of you who claim to hit 300 live in Colorado and a mile above sea level. I play competitive golf and have won the club championship twice in the past 5 years. I know how it is for hackers to hit it 250; 275; but even 300. The Titleist driver is very long. Forgiveness is minimal. Catch won the sweet spot and the ball is launched down the fairway. Get some lessons, then purchase this driver. Customer Service Never used.
