Titleist 975J Drivers

Titleist 975J Drivers

DESCRIPTION

A new 300cc Prototype Driver... the 975J has been seen in many Tour bags early in '01. Very similar look to its wildly popular predecessor the 975D. Just slightly larger and with a different look to the face... scoreing lines are placed in an "insert" look a'la the Callaway GBB. ~CB

Claude have mercy! This driver is about the badest driver I ever lay may hand on. I use to have 975D. I was loving it. My D was 10.5 with proforce 65 regular. I hit little fade with it. Until I crack the head of the D. So I ring the customer servise. So they send me the J-vs with the same shaft that I have on my D. Oh boy I start to hit a light draw of the box. It carry around 250-260 yards with boo-cu of rolls. The look of this driver is alsom. The head is bigger than the D so I got alot of confe to rip it and it still have that classic pear look to it. When you hit it on the sweet spot you will feel the cor of this club working for your. I will defenetely stick with this J-vs for a long time. I recommen this club to all the fader out there. You will love it.

This is a great club. I used to have a 975D with a stiff Graffloy shaft. The tip was too soft and I was slicing it really bad. I tried out this J and loved it. It has a reg proforce 75 shaft. It has a stiff tip so it is it is stiffer than normal reg shafts. It has turned my slice into a nice fade. It is mainly due to the shaft. This club is alot more forgiving than the d. Im also getting about 10 yards mor off the tee not to mention hitting it straiter and more consistantly. The only thing I dont like is that it hits really high which has been bad since it has been windy the last few days. I also looked at the VS, but this was alot more solid and the VS didnt have the shaft I wanted.

V.nice club. I have the 10.5 deg JVS with stock ultralite shaft and it delivers a high, flat ball flight. I went for the higher loft as Titleist launch monitoring shows this delivers optimum distance/forgiveness. Club favours a draw but can get a bit hooky if I muscle it. I doubt I drive 300 yds like other reviewers claim to (out-driving the tour pros!) but is definitely longer than my old GBB. Even get good distance off the toe even if it feels and sounds a bit strange. It's probably an ego thing but I always take players more seriously if they carry Titleist gear. V.nice head cover too.

i am a golfer that always had a serious advantage over my competetors with my distance. i hit irons when they were hitting woods. i would be hitting a 9 when they were hitting 7. but off the tee the distance gad wasn't there. i tried different brands and i liked the old school orlimar tri-metal. i used this for about a year and the old thing must have worn out and i wasn't getting the distance like i once was. so i set out looking for a club that is forgiving, but will give me the distance i was seeking. at first i liked the ping tisi tec, but the "fake" feel at impact turned me away from it. on one of my many trips to the golf store i saw that the titleist 975J-vs was on sale. so i picked it up and hit it into the golf simulator. i liked the feel so i purchased it. as i walked onto the first hole i stared down a 342 yard hole. i pulled off the head cover and let it eat. i landed about 15 yards short of the hole, ran the ball up onto the green, no lie. i made my 2 and fell in love with this club ever since. this club allows me to hit draws and fades with such ease and control. this is the best club i have ever purchased. i set myself up for birdie every hole when i crush my tee shots right at what i am aiming. this is a great club

WOW, this driver is the best club I've had in my bag. The confidence you have addressing the club on tee. It's easy to shape your strokes with it, now problems to get a draw or even open up your stance to get a fade. I recommend you to at least try this driver on the course before you choose another brand.

I've played two rounds with the 975J and I already feel more comfortable and confident than with my old driver. The shots I used to slice are now fades and my fades are straight. The forgiveness allows me to hit the 8.5 degree instead of a 9.5 or 10.5. As a result I am hitting a nice low, burrowing trajectory and getting better, more consistant distance overall. On top of that it looks and sounds great when you hit it. Highly recomended.

I personally have struggled since I switched over to the Titleist driver. I wanted to gain more yards off the tee and I did achieve that quite easily. It is long with efforless swing. I did loose my consistency though. I am pushing more of my shots than normal. It's definitely not one of the more forgiving clubs out there.

Finally broke down and bought a new driver after club testing on a launch monitor. Old one was a Callaway GBB Hawkeye 10 deg, firm flex shaft. The Titleist 975J is 9.5 deg, stiff flex. Both look nice at address, the 975J is slightly heavier and allows me to feel the position of the clubhead during my swing better. My Hawkeye made a "ping" sound, like a hammer hitting an anvil, the 975J makes a "whop" sound when hit solidly. My typical ball flight with the Hawkeye is straight to slight fade and high. Ball flight with the 975J is straight and very hot with medium height(boring). I could not achieve this consistently with my old club. As a result, I have picked up about 15 yards. No swing changes required, same smooth tempo, shoulder turn and swing thoughts produced the awesome performance. The 975J is also more forgiving because of it's larger clubhead. Conclusion, this driver is the bomb. I've played 4 rounds with it and it already feels like an old friend.

I had the 975J EI-70. My tendency was to push. I decided to go with a JVS because it is weighted to draw. Most clubs do, but I've always used the 975 series and all other drivers look funny to me at address. The performance of this club is fantastic. I never drew the ball until I got this driver. It is long. The launch angle is pretty high and the overall ball flight looks dramaticaly good. This club is pretty forgiving compared to the J and D model. It feels great. Lots of feedback. The shaft is perfect. At 77grams, it's not too heavy and not too light. If I could afford it, I would have spares of these shafts. I don't think I'm purchasing another driver. I can't imagine that it gets better.

Customer Service

The people at Titleist are pretty prompt returning emails.
