Titleist 975J Drivers

Titleist 975J Drivers

DESCRIPTION

A new 300cc Prototype Driver... the 975J has been seen in many Tour bags early in '01. Very similar look to its wildly popular predecessor the 975D. Just slightly larger and with a different look to the face... scoreing lines are placed in an "insert" look a'la the Callaway GBB. ~CB

Felt it was time to replace my 9 degree firm Steelhead. Not for any particular reason other than that changing clubs once in awhile peaks the pre-season excitement. I''ve only just hit it on the range (indoors at that), however it feels like a very consistent club. I was impressed with it''s consistency in off centre hits and agree with most of the reviewers about the X vs. S contoversy due to the bore thru design. My driver swing speed on relaxed balanced swings is 103-105 mph, although Titleist recommends this shaft for my speed, my early read is that it may be too stiff - I''ll play a couple of rounds first before passing final judgement. One final comment, I have discovered I really don''t like Titleist full cord grips and will change it to someting a little tackier.

This is a very good club,I used to play d model and loved it. I switched to the j and love the forgiveness and extra distance, got a great deal on trade in and made it that much better, excellent driver, shot an 88 first round using it, hitting the first four fairways.

The 975J is the best driver i have ever hit. Sound, feel, performance and stability are the best i have ever seen. I tried the driver with a Graphalloy x flex(way to stiff) I changed to a EI-70 and bingo, the performance for me was doubled. Longer and straighter leaves not much more to ask for.

My friend recently got this club and couldn''t hit it so I asked him if I could use it that was in march I have easily gained 15 yards and am now averageing to hit 12 out of 14 fairways a round this club is awesome keeps the ball up in the air well and is deep wouldn''t trade it for another club in the world except a custom fit version of this one it totaly rocks. This club has made me go from a kid who shoots in the 100''s to a kid who shoots in the 80''s

This is a great club. Has very good feel. Much more forgiving then the 975D( although also a good club). I suggest you buy. It is worth the money.

Like any other driver, the performance of this Driver really depends on the kind of shaft you have on it. I have a 8.5* w/ Stiff 75g proforce on mine. It hits like a 11.5*. The ball doesnt ballon or nothing, the shaft just launches the ball high. I dont like it so Im going to have a Dynamic Golf steel shaft put on it to give it its true trajectory. Other than the High trajectory the shaft gives me its a great driver and will be even Greater when i have it reshafted with the Dynamic Gold.

Can really crank this thing looong approx. 275-300 metres. Only thing I don''t like is the pinging noise if you hit it off centre - must be because of the thin face. Thinking of switching to the 975D for this reason.

I previously played a Mizuno T-Zoid Pro-Forged driver with a Proforce 65 X-flex shaft. I thought I''d never find a driver with more distance or a better trajectory. Also used to play a 975D 9.5 with ProLite-S. Tried several demo 975J''s with different shafts and didn''t like the trajectory or distance. I''ve been in a slump recently so I decided to try a 975J 8.5 with an R-flex Proforce 65. S-flex just felt unresponsive with the Proforce and ProLite. Played this weekend, and I am in awe - seriously. Things I loved: it doesn''t balloon, I don''t have to fight a hook, yet could easily hit a nice draw without feeling like it would snap, and could hit it string straight at times. Plus I hit several drives 15-20 yds beyond where I''ve ever been on a course I''ve played for 9 years. The loft and shaft seem to be a perfect match for my swing. As I said, I''m truly in awe - I''ve tried SO MANY drivers, and this one is light years better (and I''m a Mizuno junkie too!!!). The results were that good.

This is one fine tool. I''m a 16 year golfer and work at a couse in the tahoe area, so quite naturally I get the fist lowdown on all the new toys. I''ve had problems finding a driver that I truly loved to hit.. until now. I had a ping Tisi, but dumped it because the ball flight was much too high for my taste. I also borrowed my pros "D" for a few weeks but found it very difficult to hit(yet another wonderful club though.) The J is great because its much easier to hit than the "D" and gets longer distance and still has that Titleist look to it. The feel of this driver is amazing as well(very solid.) Be shure you find the right shaft too. I have a UST Pro Force 65 Reg. in it now but i''m thinking of moving to Fujikura Pro vista 80 stiff. This is the best combo ever!! Anyway I would not have taken the time to write about the club if it sucked, so give it a try.(I wish I could give it a 6!)lol
