This club is great. Very solid stable feel, very straight and a very classic headshape. Nothing negative to say at all. Gotta like the neutral face angle. This is a real golfers club.

The Diamana shaft produces a very stable penetrating flight. The 60g regular flex has a generous 4.3 torque rating, but actually performs like a stiff. No whip hooks or pulls.

Very happy with Titleist...Again!

Gained about 15 meters compared to my Bridgestone Beam Driver. However the ball doesn't roll as much. One good advantage is that it minimises my slice substantially.

Beautiful looks. That's about the only positive thing I can say about the driver. I am a serious Titleist player, every club in my bag is Titleist, other than my driver. I sold my superquad to get this and I was extremely dissapointed. No matter how pure you hit this driver, it still feels like a dud, and the results aren't stellar. I lost about 10-15 yards in distance and a whole lot more in feel. I'm the long ball hitter in my foursome (310 off the tee), and you better believe I caught a lot of flack for losing that long ball. I'm impressed with other Titleist products and have used their clubs for a long time, however, I'm going back to Taylormade drivers. Best distance, best feel, best accuracy, best drivers.

This is the sweetest driver ever!!!! I used to be a TaylorMade guy, no longer. I bought this driver in Myrtle Beach at Golf Dimensions for around $200 and took it home to PA. The first round, I wasn't used to the weight (lighter than my Steelhead), but when I hit a slice it still didn't slice as hard and got reasonable distance. The second round about two weeks, WHOA!!! The first drive was about 250 (a real good drive with my TaylorMade). The next, about 260...then another 260. On the back nine I meant to hit a fade (face a little open, swing path a bit less inside to out) and hit hit it about 235. On the last par 5 (460 yds) I managed a little draw that hit the fairway and ran into the rough, I was just a hair over 150 yds. out!!! Unfortunately, I chunked my approach shot (hence my 21 handicap). My friend tried it, and couldn't believe how the ball jumped off the club. I cannot recommend this club highly enough.

Simply the longest and straightest driver I have ever hit. Boring trajectory. I was told that you can't work the ball with this club. They were right. All I can do is fade it slightly or draw it slightly. Ha. I love it! Bought club for $150 on ebay. Great deal. Great club.

Bought the 9.5 degree driver with the Adilia Proto shaft. Love this driver. Compared to the Callaway Hyper X which has a very high trajectory this driver/shaft combo gives me a nice penetrating trajectory and is forgiving on mis-hits. At impact you get a nice solid feel and muted sound. The loud metalic sound from my Callaway was somethying I just could not get use to. I am not speaking negative of the Callawy, it is a get club but it's characteristics were just not what i was looking for in a Driver. The Titleist D1 fit my needs perfectly. The large triangle shape is easy to get use to and does not loooks as bad at set-up as the bottom pictures on the internet make it out to be. The other thing I appreciate is the durability of the club face. After several hundred ball strikes the face still looks brand new. No ball marks which is impressive after hitting a lot of rock hard range balls this winter. At the discount prices this driver is now selling for, this is a great buy.

I have a 6 hcp and hit my driver very good. (265 -270 ave.)
I have a D1 and it's by far the best driver I have ever hit.

I want to pass along a tip to everyone that has this driver. Put a small piece of lead tape on the bottom at the back of the club. I started with 1 and added another after a few rounds and the difference is unbelievable. Much straighter, much hotter / lower launch and the roll is at least 15 yards extra. (Lots of drives now 280) (No, not every drive, but every drive is with confidence)
The new 909 driver is very much like the 907 except for the weight screw in the back. This is the reason I added tape to my driver.

Also, you need to have the right shaft for your swing. I have the YSQ stiff and I find it is very stable even on mis hits. The YS6+ is also a very good shaft.

Firstly I'd like everyone to note I very much a begginer so I've not the comparative experience of others I could however be of help to others in the high handycap bracket like myself!

Firstly I've the regular flex aldila shaft and picked it up from the pro shop ex demo for next to nothing!

I've always struggled with a fade or nasty slice off the tee and this club did not fix it! (nor did I expect it to I might add) anyway booked a couple of lessons (the first I've ever had) and changed my grip and worked through some followthrough issues! Several weeks and about a thousand range balls later and the misstress (my wife named her) and I are getting on just grand! I hit straight with a slight fade 9 out of 10 drives. On the range I hit 80% ball on an uphill range beyond the back fence (220 yards) the pro said I'd be hotting "real" balls 270-80 ish. I do seem to hit high with almost no roll but as long as it's straight it's fine by me! Oh I've got 10.5• Face.

So to sum up, I'd agree this is a forgiving club but don't expect it to work magic on your swing... At least not if your a slicer like me! ( take a couple of lessons there worth every penny)

So ends my first review I hope it helps somebody.

Coming off of the 905T & 983K I took a leap of faith towards the D1.

Since, there's only 2 models to move up to...the D2 head just looked too round, almost like the TSI Ping. If I was moving up to a 460cc I wanted to avoid the bulky over-rounded shaped of a balloon.

The sleek-shaped profile was what I was looking for...it is not overly-flat and wide like the TM Burner & HiBore...The overall shape still says "Titleist" and yes...the shape of the head was a big concern for me. I have read the comment..."after 10 swings you don't notice it" for me, it took about 4. The view from the bottom in pics really doesn't do the head much justice. Before I got this in my hands, I'm saying...this is shaped like a Conehead from SNL too distracting to take seriously.

For me, due to the tapered back topline, I found setting up at address to be more easier, adding another notch of confidence, that the position of the head is good to go...your set to pull the trigger.

The Overall Weight - I am pleased that this is not an ultra-light as a feather...I need some weight for my timing or I just get too loose.

The Shaft - The Proto 65s is a whoooole lot flexable than I expected...it is almost like swinging a Platform 26.3 R. I had fears that I wouldn't be able to get off the ground, but I'm here to tell you...it's like swinging a 12* driver and thensome. Im a fairly smooth swinger, if your a cranker you will not enjoy this shaft. I had always visioned Aldila to be on the stiff side of my swings, but not this shaft.

The Impact - If your used to the semi-persimmon feel at impact that is often characterized as a Titleist, then you'll need to make an adjustment in that deep-to-the-core feel. The "thump" is somewhat still there but, a noticeable lighter impact feel is to be expected with this D1. Do you still get that warm fuzzy when you hit it on the screws? yup...even though the sweetspot is
h-u-g-e my friends...some will say, such large sweetspot will only cause the quality of your swing to get sloppy...perhaps...but, on the other side of the coin...if your having a real bad day in the driving department, this is the cure for those type of days. That is one reason that I went with the D1, rather than a workable D2. "Just get me down the fairway & I can handle the rest" is the thought behind the operator of this driver.

The Sound at Impact - Higher Toned, Almost Sounds like Glass shattering...It does not have a POP-CLICK-DOINK-CRACK-TINNY sound...more like a octive higher in the "TANK" with a plate of glass thrown in.

The Trajectory - Higher than what I'm comfortable with...I prefer the boring flight that seems to go on forever, however, with this shaft all I can see is real good height and fantastic carry, but, I'm not enjoying the roll. Perhaps its the shaft...they say it's a mid-high kickpoint? Like the Blue? naaaah, it's a mid and the flight reflects this.

Workability - If your going to try to draw...nooooooo, nada...if you tend to hook your drives?...I cannot see this happening with the D1. Ya can still fade with ease and toe shots still has good flight, quite remarkable. Very impressed.

Paint Finish - Gloss Black...I would of preffered the metalic gray.

Adjustments to a new driver - None...its like swinging an old friend from the get go...

Why an Average Rating? - The Shaft...Loose and Weak.

The NEW Advancement? - Perhaps the right shaft will bring out the Beast in this...

Model Reviewed: Titleist 907 D1 Diamana 9.5 regular

Just bought this driver from ebay for $218, which are selling here locally in London Ontario Canada for 350 at Golftown.

Went out an played 10 holes (got rained out)today without ever hitting the club at the range. I was playing a course I have played several times, so I pretty much know how far I usually hit my tee ball on each hole.

My previous driver was a Cleveland Launcher Comp 10.5 with a regular flex Aldila NV shaft. I hit this club very cosistent, but I didn't like how high I hit the ball, and I also was interested in a driver with a square face, as I never slice the ball, and I was moving the ball too far left to right at times with the Comp. I don't hit the ball a long way, I usually hit about 230ish of the tee, and can hit out about 250 max. The Comp carries nice and far, but I never get any roll due to the high trajectory, and I guess I must put excessive back spin on the ball with the Comp.

I was interested in the D1 with the Diamana shaft, as I wanted a lower launch angle (more roll), and a sqaure face.

Okay, first tee ball was nothing great, but what do expect with the first hit with a new club that you have never hit, and you are rushing to the tee.

2nd tee ball was a different story, the ball rocketed off the face with a very pleasant sound, and and even more attractive penetrating mid flight. There was a bunker about 200 yds that looked like I just cleared, but when I got to my ball, it was about 40 yds further than I had ever been on that hole. NOTE: I am not saying this club will add 40 yds to every drive, it just happens that after the bunker the fairway sloped down, and I must have had substanstial roll due to the lower ball flight, but at the end of day I was about 260 off the tee.

Next tee ball was a carbon copy. There is a creek that crosses the fairway, and you must carry the ball about 210 to clear, which I usually don't attempt, but anted to hit the new stick. I carried the creek by about 15 yds, and ended up about 260 off the tee again with the same penetrating ball flight.

Next tee ball I pulled left, but distance was still good, maybe 230ish.

Next tee ball was weak based on a very ugly swing. Ball still had good distance, but I was aiming right as I tend to draw the ball, and I hung it out the right straight into the fescue!

Next tee ball was another 250 yd hit down the right side of the fairway, straight as an arrow.

Next tee ball was again a 250-260 penetrating drive, right down the middle. At this point my buddy who has a Burner Draw Driver to a go with the D1 after hitting his ball burner about 250, almost in line with my tee bal, but to the right side if the fairway (he is a bit of a slicer!). Boom, ball came off with beautiful sound, and a boring trajectory that seemed to hang in the air for ever, oh and dead staright which says a lot for my buddy. At this point I think his words were something like "I love your driver, how much was it?" When we walked up to his ball with the D1, it was literally 50 yds past his drive with the Burner, 300 yds straight down the middle. And his drive with theBurner was very well hit.

Last tee ball before we got rained out, and you guessed it, 250ish right down the middle with a boring flight and a nice gentle draw.

It is far too early to make a conclusive review, as my sample size is very small, but of the 8 tee balls I hit, 5 were about 250, and I am usually lucky to hit one a round 250 with my Comp. What I loved most was the penetrating mid ball flight that just seems to hang in the air, follwed by nice roll, which is very foreign to me.

I can't really speak to the spin forgivness, as I never have problems slicing the ball, but on one of the 250 tee balls I hit, I looked at the face post drive, and was very surprised to see I hit it close to the toe.

I will post more once I play a few more rounds with this stck, but right now it looks like I am averaging about 20 yds increase over the Cleveland
