Went to my first demo day in April to check new drivers. Was playing with a Ping G2 10.5 stiff, which I have beat up pretty well the past few years. I went intending to buy the Ping Rapture. But for some reason, couldn't seem to hit it well. I also tried the Titlest 907 D1 and D2, Cleveland Hibore XL, the TM Burner and R7 Superquad. I can honestly say it was a difficult decision in the end, as I went up and down the range hitting each driver again and again. I had no intention or real interest in the Superquad, but it impressed me from the first swing to the last. The feel and distance were great. This is not to say the other drivers were not, but I had to have this driver. The ball seemed to really jump of the club face, felt like butter. Have it set to neutral and can work the ball left to right if needed, just not good enough player to always do this on command. Customer Service Not the best, took over a month to get the driver the I ordered at the demo day. Similar to most reading this review I was in search of a new 460cc driver to replace my older Titliest 975d. I tried all of the big names: Titliest, Callaway (FTi and Ft5), Ping Rapture, TM Burner and the TM Superquad 10.5 stiff. Ended up choosing the Superquad and am very pleased with the results. The ball launches off the club face with a slight draw. Ball flight is higher than I'm used to but that may be because I upgraded from an 8.5 degree loft. Miss hits are more than acceptable and the gun metal finished face allows for instant feedback relative to ball contact on the face of the club. The stock 65 shaft fits me perfectly. I can actually feel the low kickpoint release just before impact. It isn't the longest driver I've ever owned but I've hit more fairways (or first cut of rough) than I ever have before. Nothing can take the place of a good tee shot and this club certainly promotes forgiveness and consistency off the tee. I would HIGHLY recommend this driver. R7 Superquad
I bought the left-handed, 9.5 degree, stiff flex R7 Superquad with the stock shaft (RE*AX 65 Fujikura). Best driver I've ever hit. At the demo days I attended, I hit Callaway (FT-i), Cobra, Nike (Sasquatch), TaylorMade Burner & the R7 Superquad. The R7 had the best feel for me. Mis-hits still get pretty decent distance, but if you hit the sweet spot, the ball literally jumps off the face. I'm at least one iron closer on my approach shots now and have even driven some shorter par-4's. My scores haven't improved as much as I hoped, but that's because I need to work on my short game.

R7 Superquad
I purchased the R7 Superquad 9* reg flex shaft a few months back after taking 10 years off from playing. At first I wasn't happy with this club. I have a fast swing and started out with the stock Re-Ax 65 Reg Flex shaft and I kept Slicing the ball even with the 14g weight in the sole of the club. I was just about to get rid of it when I decided to replaced the stock shaft with an Aldila NV 65 Stiff Flex ( green in color ) and now I love it! Weights are set for a slight draw with 8g in the sole and now I hit far, 280 - 290 and strait 95% of the time. Sweet club, just get rid of the stock shaft! R7 superquad 10.5 regular
My last driver is several years old and I needed something to increase my distance off the tee. Tried the usual big names and found them to be about the same as far as distance is concern. Finally bought the superquad which was most consistent for me. Off center hits reduced distance marginally only. Ball flight was also more penetrating. My frind of mine who shoots high 70's low 80's tried it and had the same experience.

I found this driver to be inconsistant more than the previous model. The shaft that comes from the factory is not worthty of the heafty price tag they charge for one of these things. The face is closed down at least 1 degree, and if your not a novice player and don't want to spend an extra 400 hundred dollars for the tour model. Which I really didn't understand the marketing strategy behind this, probably because they wouldn't sell them (this model) if the tour was any cheaper, this club becomes somewhat limited as far as workablity. I noticed at the local golf galaxy this is one of the newer clubs in 07 that get's traded in more often than their competitors 07 models hmmm. If Taylormade would just square the head to match the weighting technology I honestly feel this would be a front runner in their line up just like their TP version. Oh wait their would be no need for the $800.00 tour model. Seek for yourself. Customer Service None. Similar Products Used: R7 460, R7 425 TP. |

Went to Dick's and picked up the R7 superquad,9.5,stiff shaft.400.00 bucks, ouch! This club does work. Change the weights and it does what they say. I set mine up to draw the ball as Iam a fader when I hit it bad.I could'nt be more pleased. This club feels like it squares up to the ball on impact on it's own. Most of my drives are straight down the middle or a little draw. The ball jumps off the clubface like a cannon.Granted, the courses Iam playing now are dry, hard, and fast. But I have hit some monster drives 300 yds. Never, ever have I gotten that kind of distance. Different drivers work for different people, but I've found a little piece of heaven with this one.All I can say is: works for me! Superquad TP 9.5*
Got a Superquad TP 9.5* with the TP-75 Rombax shaft and was severely disappointed. Went from the FT-5 tour to this, and lost nearly 15 yards. Lacks the real "pop" that the Callaways have. Launches very high and rolled nowhere for me. Swing speed for me is avg. about 105. Going with the Burner TP instead! The R7's have been going down hill IMO since the first model. That driver was hot, but the 425 TP and the Superquad TP are lacking.
