Picked it up for $160 plus shipping in great shape, Ebay. I love the feel of this stick!! I have the TP version shaft S flex in the standard head (sort of unusual?) The loft is a little high, but moving the weights to a low fade works to make it more like a 10.5*... I don't know if it is the shaft, but this thing bombs them out there. Distance is NOT an issue. The driver is very stable and forgiving, and the feel, while not a nice soft "crack" like the Burner and the Cleveland Comp, it is a more muted sound, like a good punch in the nose. Great feedback on the black face, and a little heavier swing weight from the burner... I like it much better. I guess it is not for everyone, based on some of the sour reviews, but I love it! 6'1", 225, 50 yrs old if that makes a difference...

I bought this Driver and its the most accurate driver that I have ever had, except I lossed 20 yards off the Tee. Sets up well but just seems Dead. I have hit a few low boring 300 yarders with this club, Buts when I tee it high, thats when it just feels dead. Going Back to Bang O Matic.

Purchased this club a few weeks ago. This club is by far the most accurate driver I have ever owned and I have owned just about everything out there. Distance is good. I went with 10.5 degree loft since I like to hit the ball higher off the tee. Also purchased a weight kit off ebay with the club. Playing with the weights you can definately move the ball in different directions and achieve different ball flights. If you haven't hit this club then you need to. It will be in my bag a long time. It's alot easier game from the short grass. Thanks Taylor Made!

I bought an 8.5 deg x shaft shortly after this club was released. I came from an original r7 quad. The superquad was dissappointing. The club sets up and looks incredible, the all black clubhead is awesome for setup. I average about 295-305 off the tee and easily lost 20 yards with the superquad. I can only remember 1 shot in the 4 months I used this driver that was impressive. The clubhead just seemed dead to me.
I've moved on to a cobra x speed s and the difference is incredible

Model Reviewed: R7 SuperQuad Driver

Just recently purchased this driver and I have to say the best driver to date by any manufacturer. The adjusting weights allows oyu to carry your normal swing and hit the ball as you please with maximum distance. I switched from Titleist, and am enjoying every second of it. The look, feel, pop, and repetitiveness from this driver is a must have for any type player. The only recommendation I have is changing the stock shaft to fit your swing and I guarantee you will be seeing the fairway more often and a lot longer than before.

Model Reviewed: R7 SQ 9.5 stiff

Purchased this club new on Ebay for $150 less than retail. Nice pickup I thought. Demod' this club several times and went w/9.5 loft, stiff flex. Which after playing a couple of rounds with it, might have been a mistake. 10.5 might be better for me. THIS IS NOT A LONG DRIVER. Accurate, yes. You can play w/the weights to fit your swing. However, I'm only driving it 280 yds at best. My old Wilson Deep Red 365cc was 300+ almost every time. Sound and feel are ok. Looks cool though. Like the Darth Vader of drivers. Just disappointed w/distance.

I, like many other people here use this site to research with when considering new equipment. I am left handed so I can't just go down to the local golf shop and demo whatever it is that I am considering so I do appreciate the honest reviews here. Now for the good stuff. WOW!!! I absolutely love this driver. I am a golf club junkie so I never write reviews because usually the club is gone before I can get one posted but not this baby!! I am a 9 handi, so by no means am I a scratch golfer. My swing speed is 93mph, so basically average. I am hitting a 10.5 degree with the UST V2 regular flex shaft (65 grams) and I hit it great. I am averaging 255 carry which usually ends up about 280 after the roll and have missed very few fairways. These are really good stats for me. I have always averaged about 235 carry and about 250 total. I love the looks of the head, the feel of the shaft and the sound is perfect!! I have played the R5, R7 425, and the R7 460 so I am no stranger to TaylorMade products. I have seen some reviews where people stated there was no differnce between the regular R7 460 and the Superquad except for the color. I do not understand how they can state that. The feel and sound is completely different and the Superquad has 4 weight cartridges vs. the 2 on the R7 460. I hope this review will help someone else in their buying process. Hitem well and good luck!!

Wow, all I can say is wow!
Great driver, love the black face, I have 9.5* stock stiff and about 10 yards longer than my current R7 425 TP driver. Very forgiving and straight and long, for me, this driver just goes, I average about 260-275 with slight draw. I have set 1-10-10-1 grams and it’s beautiful. I love this driver, don’t take my word for it, just go out and try it. It’s pricy so get it fit.

Model Reviewed: Taylor Made R7 Superquad

I just left Taylor Made demo day and wow, was I pleased. I tried the R7 Superquad 9.5 deg with the UST proforce stiff 77 gram shaft. I had been struggling all year with my driver, hitting pull hooks with everything I've tried. I've used the Cobra 460 9deg with Aldila NV stiff shaft and Callaway FT-3 driver (neutral setup) with the Aldila NV-S stiff shaft. Both drivers I've had trouble hooking too much with tee shots that start left of my target (I play left-handed). When I tried the R7 with a low torque (2.1 deg) shaft, WOW, I was able to start the ball on line with just a slight draw. Take home message: You have to get fitted with the proper shaft in order to control your ball flight and curvature. I am really happy with this driver, and we'll see when I take it to the course!

Customer Service

So far, so good. They made the driver on the spot at demo day.
