I usto have a junky Ram golf club that hit horably.....im only 14 years old, and when i bought this driver i got an extra 25 yards out of it....although its not hte best driver out their...i find its good for the price....their are many other newer clubs out their that are alot better but the r580 xd is great for an upgrade. I shot from 84 down to high 70s and low 80s right when i got it..

Model Reviewed: R580 XD Regular Flex 10.5 loft

I have played about 5 rounds with this driver and it has made a difference. I have gained about 15-20 yards, and more of my drives end up in the fairway. 15-20 yards is the difference between not even being able to reach some par 4's in two good shots, and going at a lot of holes with 2 less clubs than I was.

I was a skeptic about the new technology. I had a 330cc Ping clone driver that was about 7 years old and it was clearly better than my old original small-headed Taylor Made Metalwood driver. But I got tired of duffers outdriving me with their new $400 460cc drivers, so I decided there must be something to the big-head, thin-face technology. I could have gotten this driver at discount store for $150, but I got it used for $75 from Global Golf. It was worth every penny.

It does lauch a little high: if I had to do it over I'd get the 9.5 loft.

Customer Service

Global Golf sent me the driver in better condition than they had described it, in 3 days, in a clever box specifically designed for mailing golf clubs!

I bought this driver for about 3 years ago. For the past two years i have looked at other drivers but I can’t afford it replace this one because it is so damn good. I hit the fairways at 90 % every time - it’s true, but I would chosen to hit the ball a little bit further with it. I think reason is that I’ve got too stiff shaft for me. (Grafalloy Blue Stiff)

when i first bought it, I didn't hit it that well. but now i know how to hit it and it is a great reward.
instead of hitting a 3-wood all the time, I can use this and get pretty close to about 290 yards every time. great deal!

Great club.Played the 360 taylor and bought the 580xd. The 360 also is a great club but the sweet spot is not near as big as it is on the 580xd.The 580xd goes about 25 yards further and goes alot staighter han the 360.This might be the best driver out there. What a bargain as you can get these for a great price.I have a graphite design shaft on the club with a regular shaft and would not trade this club for any new driver out there. When Taylor made this club it is years ahead of anything out there.

UNBELIEVABLE! I have always had trouble with my driver and considered myself lucky when I hit the fairway and I was too stubborn to go with my 3-wood so I perfected my "Tiger IN THE Woods" impersonation. I bought the r580 on close out at a local shop and had a ok round my first time out. My second round with it I eased up my swing and let the club do the work. My playing partner got sick of hearing me say "I love this club" I hit 6 out 9 fairways (missed 2 others by inches) and hit the ball almost forty yards longer. 40 YARDS!!! My average drive with my old driver was about 240'ish with my longest being 275. I averaged close to 280 and had one just shy of 300 in the middle of the fairway. I am not usually not this high on a club but it is well worth every penny especially now that price has come way down.

Have read a lot of reviews here and agree with all the positive ones. Personally, I find it pretty workable, though my workable skill comes and goes. Longer, yes, straighter, oh yes. On the days when the swing is working I've had several 100 per cent fairway days. If you can't hit fairways with this driver, spend money on a lesson-enough said.
A lot of reviews seem to speak of the sound of the solid hit as dull. This is true, but from the first day I likened the sound and the feel as the closest to persimmon (I'm pretty old) that I 've experienced in metal club and for me that's a positive. I have to laugh at the range when I hear a driver that sounds like a train wreck when hit. Let the ball do your talking. Get one while you can at these prices, buy some small dumbbells to strengthen your wrists, buy some 3 inch tees and you still have money left over for a lesson and a round of golf or a new putter.

I love this club! I could never hit a driver before this one. I always ended up in the other fairway,so I gave up and just used a 3 wood off the tee. This driver is so easy to get around, and I'm always rigth down the middle. Best club i ever purchased.

Driving the ball has always been an inconsistent area of my game. I usually have trouble keeping the ball in the fairway due to a chronic slice that only seems to come about when I use a driver. Therefore, I have always used a 3 wood off the tee, which sacrifices distance (but keeps me in the fairway). I recently played 18 holes with a friend of mine who had this driver - and he agreed to let me try it out. First few tries, I sliced it straight into the lumber yard. I eased up my swing, and BOOM! Straight down the fairway with some serious distance. For the rest of the day I used this driver with amazing results. With a nice easy swing, this driver couldnt be any easier to hit. If you try to destroy the ball with a hard swing, you will slice it bad. Needless to say, I have never hit a driver this far and long before with such an easy swing - so I ordered one tonight for 135$
