This would have to be the most forgiving/longest driver I have hit. The tour stiff shaft from Taylor Made was exceptional. It matched up with the head perfectly. Ball flight was penetrating and seemed to hit a second gear mid flight. Out performed my other drivers by at least 15 metres. Now all I need to do is find the money to buy one. Customer Service Taylor Made demo staff were fantastic Similar Products Used: Erc II, Ping Tec, Taylor 320R |

Ok, they guy that says this club is dull off of the face has got to be a Ping or Cleveland rep. This is the most forgiving hot faced driver I have ever hit. At the FedEx St. Jude, at lease half of the pros were using the 500 series so I wanted to try it. I had a Wilson Deep Red and loved it. I happened to be in Nevada Bobs when this club arived in the store and they unwrapped a new club for a demo. After demoing this club for a week I was forced to buy it. It wasnt longer than my Deep Red if I hit the deep red right on the sweet spot. But the sweet spot on the TM 510 is HUGE. I even get good hits if I hit it on the toe. Yes, this club is expensive...but it is the best out there. How much would you pay to be able to blast out 305 yard drives right down the middle of the fairway. R540 & R580 (both 9.5% stiff shafts)
I have not bought either of these clubs tested but felt that I should add my few thoughts on the clubs given the huge hype. First of all I like Taylor Made drivers, I recently purchased an XR-03 (see review) after trying many clubs, including the R540 adn R580. I really, realy wanted to like them and was keen to thrash a few balls at the range. However I found both clubs fine but not great, the ball felt quite dull off the face and a little harsh for my liking and the general forgiveness was average and not as good as I was expecting. Both clubs sit nicely at address but the swing weight feels slightly different to the older TM models. These drivers will no doubt suit a lot of players who will be very happy with them but try them first, as I ended up going for a completely different driver even though I was convinced I was going to like it. Customer Service Very good service at TM demo - wanted to find right club fo rme, not the most recent driver. Similar Products Used: TM 320Ti, C4, Masker, Cobra SS, Cleveland Launcher etc.. |

Oh my god, this is the most boring clube ever. It bores down the fairway, bores through the sky and bores into places that no other driver has ever reached. Indeed very boring. My playing partners are going to be bored by this club too, "oh 280 out down the middle again - bore" To be straight, purchased this clube aftter hitting for an hour. The thing that impressed me then was that it was straight, and reaonable long. Not huge, but long. Took it to the course yesterday, and oh boy was it long. 60 yard chips to the green make golf very easy. Only issue now is to get back out there, and get really bored.
