Taylor Made Burner 08
I purchased this driver at Dicks for $200. When looking at drivers I heard the pro in a course proshop state that you can't go wrong with a Taylor driver. That Taylor Made is first and formost a driver company. I always played Taylor Made from the 1980's until I fell out of love with my Bubble. I never fell in love with a driver since. I had a Cleveland and a couple of different Titleist drivers. Back to Taylor Made. The 08 Burner is a terrific club and I have fallen back in love. The Burner does not give me 30 new yards of distance like magic, as a lot of people claim. If you put a nice smooth swing on it and hit the sweet spot the ball flies straight as an arrow. When you do not hit the sweetspot the hooks and slices are turned into fades and draws and travel nearly the same distance as sweet spot swings. The sound is good, not the high pitched ear clanging ring that some other drivers have. This is a great easy to swing driver. Customer Service I hit a ton of balls on a simulator at Dicks and the sales rep was informative on the questions I asked about launch angle and swing speed. This helped me select the correct specs: 10.5 degrees loft, stiff shaft. Similar Products Used: Titleist 975 D, 975L FE, Cleveland Launcher, |

2009 Burner
It took a ton of work to get in synch with this club but it was worth it. This is a driver which delivers major distance without trying to overswing. I HIGHLY recommend using the low compression Burner ball, this is where the distance really shows up if you swing 95-100 mph. I'm hitting it 265-275 now, before 235-245. Two drives of 300 this week. Again, there is no magic fix out there, any club takes effort to find the groove . . . the 2009 Burner will give you tremendous distance and accuracy once you harness the right tempo and use the right ball for your swing speed. It's a keeper! Customer Service no experience Similar Products Used: FT-I, FT-5 |

Average club for average golfer. I shot low 80's-high 70's, and don't really like the club. For the average player this club is fine, but for a good player, look elsewhere(AWAY from Taylor Made). Callaway makes much better drivers and so does Titleist.

2009 Taylor Made Burner Driver
I bought the new Burner with 10.5 loft and stiff shaft. Having tested all the new drivers including the Cobra L5V and Calloway FT-i, I found this to be both the longest and most consistent. I play off 11 but have never been the straightest off the tee but not only have I added 15 yards in length, I am hitting many more fairways. The club feels very stable throughout the swing and has a great noise at impact. I can't praise it enough!! |

I can't say enough about this club. This is the first driver I've carried that I don't continue to go back and test new drivers. The driver is long, forgiving, and you can work the ball off the tee.
Customer Service Top notch. Needed a left handed stick and they got it to me in a couple of days. Similar Products Used: Titleist 905, Cleveland HiBore, Callaway |

Burner 09' 10.5*
I cant say enough about this club. I am a decent golfer (90's) but the tees have always been my weak point. I previously had a Titleist 983K but would more often use my hybrid from the tees for good distance with accuracy. My 983K lacked in accuracy for me and I had difficulty getting the ball in the air. I picked up the burner for $150 on ebay and it was an immediate fit. The club is long, accurate, and forgiving. I have the 10.5 model and the ball takes off from the head of the club. Now my second shots are significantly closer and my handicap is decreasing with every round. This club is the best money I have ever spent on a club. I used an R7 460 for +2 years and the longest I ever hit was 230 yards. I just played 18 holes with my new Burner 09 9.5 Stiff, and it was amazing. I hit an average of 260 yards and a Longest Drive of 300 yards. |
