This club is GREAT. My best drives with this club are a good 20 to 30 yards further then with any other driver I have used. This club feels so light compared to my TM firesole. The other day I hit one 315 w/o any aid from mother nature. The ball just jumps off this club. No wonder the pro's hit the ball so far. Very forgiving on off center hits. The only problem is when you start hitting long you convicnce your self you can be longer and thats when you get into trouble. Just stay within yourself and you will be real happy with the results. The other day when I teed off one of the guys in my group said "Anything that goes that far should have a stewardess on it". Is this legal? Great driver for people with moderate swing speed. Take it easy, just let the club do its job and you will find the ball far and on the fairway most of the time. Tried 540 and 580 and finally understood why Taylor Made didn't want to market R420 anymore. No body would pay more for a less forgiving club without getting more distance. LOVE THIS CLUB!! I was in the market for a new driver and saw this one on sale. Having only heard of the 300 and 500 series, I did some research and found this site. Most everyone had nothing but good to say so I took a chance. Boy was that the right decision. I have used it only for one round but my mis-hits go farther/straighter and my sweet spot hits go 250+ (I don't swing very hard, low 80's swing speed). It's so easy to hit a good shot with this gem. I am finding myself in places on the course where I have never been. Once I get used to it I feel I will be able to bomb it out there even further and cut 5 or 6 strokes off my score. If you're in the market, do yourself a favor and get this club. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Big Bertha, Ping |

The other guys are right. This club has added about 20 yards to my drives. Miss-hits DO correct themselves. Get the stiff shaft. I now have a very nice fade on slight miss-hits rather than a B-52 slice to the right...For the price, now that its a discounted item at many golf stores, I don't know if you'll find better. Customer Service Pretty good. Similar Products Used: King Cobra 427SS; TaylorMade R580 |

Had to write a review on this driver because it is simply awsome. I had been using a TM 200 series and also a Titleist 975D with decent results. This TM 420 however has been a gift from heaven for my golf game. My swing speed is between 80-90 MPH and I have had several drives in the 250-260 yard range which I am thrilled with. I tested several other drivers but none were as long nor as forgiving. Yes, I can still hit a bad drive but it is less likely with this club. Shots hit on the toe and heel drive deep down the fairway nearly always going straight or very slightly left or right. If I could afford any driver on the market today this is the one that I would buy! I,m sure my scores will be droping soon if for no other reason than I am getting closer to the green on my drives. Happy Golfing! Customer Service Have not used. Similar Products Used: TM 200 series with steel shaft, Titelist 975D. |

All I can say is wow. I picked up the Burner 420 the other day to replace my Adams ST 303. On a great day my Adams would go 275, but you never knew where it would go. The Burner is longer and more forgiving thant I have ever seen or played. One my third hole I hit one clearly off the toe. Instead of jetting to the left and out of play (I'm a left hander), the ball club actually but a nice draw on the ball and came back into the fairway leaving me with a short shot into the green. The ball would have been OB with my old club. Another example was #12 on the course yesterday. 310 yards and very narrow, only reachable by the big hitters. I took a gamble, and the minute I hit the ball I said "Get on the green". The ball ended up 5 yards short. This is by far the best driver I have ever bought and can only improve my game thanks to Taylor Made. It sure makes the game a lot easier when you are consistently in the fairway. The $199 price is amazing too. The guy at Golf Galaxy actually talked me out of getting the R580 saying the 420 was a better club. And he was right. Customer Service Have not dealt with. Actually play a Big Bertha 2 driver, picked this driver up for the heck of it and its cheap price helped with the decision. Its actually just as long or longer than anything Ive used including the Big Bertha. Ballflight is higher than my Big Bertha but hits the ground running hot. Forgiving, long hitting and 200$ cheaper than other drivers. Customer Service Not dealt with Similar Products Used: GBB 2, 983, Cobra 350 |

It's great to visit parts of the course I've never hit from. I've been playing for about five years and have never owned a driver. I hit my three-wood about 225. I've been blown away by what I can do with this 420 driver. Averaging 250 now. Last week I landed next to a greenside bunker on a short 294 par 4 (about a 280 drive) HUGE for me. Reg shaft 10.5 degrees. Mortals can hit this driver! Customer Service na Similar Products Used: na |

I bought the 420 over the winter and didnt use it much. When I first hit it I liked the solid feel of the head, but the shaft had too much torque and I hooked it too much. I have reshafted it with a Penley ETA tour S and the performance has been awesome. A very tight shot pattern with a mid flight slight draw. I played with it in wind gusts up to 45 mph yesterday and it didnt balloon at all into a head wind and various swirling cross winds. I have hit all the 500 series except the tour issue models and I believe the burner 420 has a better feel and is a better performer. I did hit a r580 with a penley stealth at a demo yesterday that felt good, but Ill still take the 420. Similar Products Used: You name it Ive hit it. |
