TaylorMade 200 Series Drivers

TaylorMade 200 Series Drivers

DESCRIPTION

Borrowing from the advanced design of its titanium cousins, the 200 Steel driver combines state-of-the-art Powerframe Technology and face-weld construction to produce the largest (275cc) and fastest COR steel driver we''ve ever developed. High-strength 455 stainless allows for thinner, lighter construction. This gives us more CAD-design freedom to expand the head size, distribute weight and optimize CG for improved trajectory.

Went to try out the Deep Red but couldn't get enough consistency, odd flash of brilliance but tended to spray them right. So coach at the range suggested trying some Taylormades and boy am I glad I did! Don't whack it 300+ but far enough for me thank you very much and I was amazed with how straight I hit it on a regular basis. I had been using a £25 Dunlop lump which was OK when I started playing again last year but felt I needed something with a bit more oomph (without sacrificing accuracy) which you definitely get from this club. Tried a few 300 series as well but without any real difference in performance, if anything they were slightly less controllable. Good solid feeling at impact and felt really in control of the club all through the swing. Went for steel R-80 shaft as it works for me, I tend to swing too fast with graphite. Coach tweaked my posture a bit as well which seemed to help my consistency All in all I LOVE this club, long, straight, good trajectory, inexpensive (£129, I guessed the $)what more can you ask for?! Can't wait till my course is open again (damned rain!) and I can try it out for real

I started off the season with the Wilson DR Fat shaft. Horrible sound off the club face and somehow I felt I had to murder the ball each time I stood over a tee shot. With a slower swing ball flew miles & fairly straight but I was still inconsistant. By chance a pro watched me swing at a range one day & said he noticed my grip loosening at the top of my swing with the driver but not with 3 wood or irons. He suggested the Fat Shaft was actually too thick for me and I should try a thinner gripped driver. I tried the TM200s & the Callaways SH 3's & Hawkeye VFT. Callaways nice, Taylor Made Phenomenal ! I bought it there & then along with a 3 & 5 wood which to be honest went even better!! My shot average has decreased also. shooting 88-92 in my last 6 rounds have been very satisfying. NO more high 90's to low 100's!!!

An accurate club that keeps out of trouble. Started the season with a spanking new 350cc cuz everyone else was getting one. I was rewarded with great distance but I wound up punching my 2nd shot out from behind trees, boulders, or weeds. In July, I bought the 9.5° TM-200 at the advice of a playing partner and now I'm on the fairway a good majority of the time. I gave up some distance but I'm enjoying the game more. For some reason (maybe it's the steel 275cc head), I don't have the urge to kill the ball the way I did the with the 350cc driver. I don't have the talent to mention anything intellegent about how this club responds to draws and fades... I'm just ecstatic that I don't have to go looking for my ball after my tee shot! The club has a great sound when it launches the ball but the best part is watching the ball go where you aimed it to go.

(Price is CDN$) Season is done up here so a few thought. I replaced everything this spring. Due to $$ went with the steel shaft. Glad I did, 'cause at a demo day in August tried all the graphite shafts, lost alot of control and often distance. I have a minimum of 230, usually 250-260 off the tee now but more importantly the ball is going where I am aiming. Especially if I don't overswing, the club will do the work. No more lining up for the OB on the left, expecting the slice to bring it back. Finished my last round and cut the corner or carried water where last year I would have chickened out. A frequent playing partner has a TM-320 that I have grabbed a couple times and it is a bit longer but the ball always tails left or right. Only grip is I don't get much roll - may tinker with stance over the winter to add some more yards. Best value and best results of all my purchases this year. April won't get here too soon.

I purchased about 3 months ago and found this to be most accurate club I've ever used (and I've tried most of them). Recently installed TrueTemper bi-matrix "Rocket" shaft which totally eliminated any distance issues. Now I'm not only more accurate..but longer as well. Try this combination..It works!

Well - I had a Cobra Gravity Back 9 degree Driver, an old Burner 3-wood and a matching Cobra 5 wood. I reached the point in my game where "feel" even with the long clubs is really important to me. So I tried MANY woods out and almost reached the point where I was content with what I had. BUT I tried the 3 wood 200 series out on the course a few weeks back (my mate I was playing with has one) and I out drove where I had just hit the Cobra Driver to. Coupled with the level of feel I had I knew where the ball was going and knew it had a soft draw just via the feel. I decided to test this out and went to a local driving range to "try" the Driver out - I hit 10 shots with my eyes closed and EVERY shot flew straight and true and LONG.... VERY LONG! The 3 wood off the fairway is unreal and the five wood is lush too. I would certainly recommend these fine clubs to anyone seeking length but ALSO feel in their woods - BRILLIANT CLUBS.

I purchased the 200 driver (10.5) with a stiff graphite shaft in late August. I am very pleased with the performance of this club. The distance is good, but more importantly for me, the control is very good. I now have no hesitation in pulling my driver out of the bag.

I have been trying to find a replacement for my Titleist 975D Stiff Steel 8.5 deg. cus I am not as fit as I was in school anymore thus I'll need something easier to hit with (or at least airborne with). Till I read all the great reviews here, I figured that there is no going wrong with this Taylor Made driver given that it only costed $159. This driver is not quite as far as my Titleist but I think it has the potential though cus I was smashing balls out of the fence on the range (carried 250+). The Taylor Made is much lighter to hit with (due to the lighter shaft) and much easier to get airborne with (due to the loft ofcourse). There is a tendency of fading and sometimes ballooning though but can be cured by teeing the ball a little lower and a little flatter swing plane. All in all a driver that gives you confidence, it never gives you the wicked hook or outrageous slices, the ball holds its path pretty well. This Driver is for people who want to approach greens from fairways. And it looks exactly the same as the Titleist models from the top if you wanna know.

Probably one of the most accurate drivers I've used to date. May not be as long as some drivers, but if you're looking for accuracy, but this driver. I averaged about 280 with my Great Big Bertha and with this driver I've dropped about five yards. Except the distance of the driver, I recommend this driver for anyone who is looking for accuracy rather than distance

Customer Service

Yes. Bombed a shot about 320 yards and the club face broke. The retailer replaced by broken one.
