TaylorMade 200 Series Drivers

TaylorMade 200 Series Drivers

DESCRIPTION

Borrowing from the advanced design of its titanium cousins, the 200 Steel driver combines state-of-the-art Powerframe Technology and face-weld construction to produce the largest (275cc) and fastest COR steel driver we''ve ever developed. High-strength 455 stainless allows for thinner, lighter construction. This gives us more CAD-design freedom to expand the head size, distribute weight and optimize CG for improved trajectory.

I recently purchased this driver and have nothing but good things to say. I have the rifle s90 shaft and I find this club is very consistent. I have owned the adams sc titanium as well as the Taylor made Ti buble 2 drivers. This is by far the best driver I have owned. I would reccommend this driver to anyone looking for consistency off of the tee.

I purchased the 200 series driver yesterday. I was hitting a callaway steel head in a golf simulator ( supose to be a control club.. Not for me! ) I was all over the fairway ranging from 125 yds to 175 yds. It wasn''t long before the golf pro suggested the TM 200 series. My first 8 drives were 285 and in a 20'' radius! The club sounded and hit great! If the simulators are accurate I think I''m really going to like this club!

There''''s not a lot to add to the previous other than to agree with them totally. I was previously hitting a KZG PFT/300 9.5, which was itself quite a nice club. After getting custom fitted however I found that I need a more upright driver. The TaylorMade fit the bill and it has worked wonders on the course. It is very easy to hit and I am getting approx 275 on a normal swing, more if I really go after it. It stays straight in the air and rarely strays from the target line. The feel is exceptional. It''''s more of a dull thud than the "thwack" you get from so many drivers these days. I prefer the softer feel of more traditional clubs, which is why I also hit the 200 series steel irons ! ( Another great purchase by the way ). Anyway - go get one of these. You will not regret it.

Everything you read below is true!! This is an awesome golf club. With the rifle shaft, it has amazing accuracy and I am not sacrificing any distance over my Callaway Hawkeye. The sweetspot is absolutely huge -- mis-hits (when, for some reason you don''t actually find the sweetspot) don''t stray too far offline and still get decent distance and roll. Very easy to work the ball both ways, but when you really nail one it just goes a mile with a slight fade. For the money (TM just lowered the price on these) this driver absolutely cannot be beat!!!!!!

One word. Holy crap! This driver is amazing! Just got back from my first round of the year and shot a 79! I''ll take that considering I haven''t played in 6 months. Wow great club. Comparing today against callaway vft hawkeye and steel was much more forgiving. Distance was very close but considering the taylormade is easier to control it is easier to hit it harder, therefor longer drives. Averaged about 235 yards today and smaked a couple 260. Feel is amazing when hit well. Off centered hits go lower with great roll. Tee high and let it fly with this club for sure. Great club. Value makes it one of the best clubs on the market.

Dude, sweeeet! I have been a titanium guy, but not anymore! This is without a doubt an excellent buy for the money. The only downside is that now I want buy the rest of the fairway woods as well. It has a great flite, and is continually in play, no matter what I try to do. You must own one for yourself.

As mentioned in another review...this club is truly the sleeper driver of this year. It is GREAT! I have played the BBB, GBB, Hawkeye Pro, VFT, and the TM 300. This is the best of the lot. No more duck hook, and much better distance. I used to hit the ball about 275-280 with the Callaway BBB - the problem was, it wasn''t always in the fairway. I now hit that distance - down the middle, and I can draw the ball if needed. What a great product. No real flaws - just a great driver. When it is struck on the nail, it produces an amazing sound. Heads do turn on the range. This is a SOLID, SOLID club!

I replaced a Callaway Steelhead Plus with this driver and immediately picked up 30-40 yards per drive without making any changes to my game. I have always liked the Callaway drivers and their customer service is second to none but I felt like I just wasn''t getting the distance that I needed. I tried the TM360Ti series at the Dallas Golf Show and at Golfsmith but I couldn''t get used to the larger head size as it just seems to large and unwieldy. The steel head on the 200 series seemed to produce more solid contact than the titanium head on the 360. I would recommend this club to anyone wishing to get extra distance without having to pay the 350-500 for a driver. I have noticed with this driver you simply need to tee the ball up fairly high and let the club do the work. I tended to hit a low ball with the Callaway but with this club I get alot more height and consequently more distance. Likewise I tended to hook the ball with the Callaway and unfortunately I would snap hook several times each round. With the 200 the ball tends to fly straight with a slight fade. Even on miss hits the ball gets very good distance whereas before a miss hit would result in some very poor distance. Because of the extra hitting area on the driver''s head I am no longer topping or popping the ball up. This driver has made playing fun again and added renewed confidence to my game. I added a couple of Cleveland wedges and have shaved ten strokes per round.

I have hit everything out there. This driver is an A+. Very solid sound. Very solid appearance at address. I have found that there is no loss of distance versus titanium with much more control. The steel shaft is very controllable.
