SMT Golf 455 Deep Bore Drivers

SMT Golf 455 Deep Bore Drivers

DESCRIPTION

We have been working on this head for the past 4 months, it took 9 re-designs to get the head to pass the stringent testing we put each and every head through, to get it to this stage. The first component head ever to have pieces of the head made in Japan, finished in Taiwan. We have combined 3 different strains of Titanium in one head to produce the highest quality head ever produced that is available to the consumer in component form. We had a unique opportunity to jump into the vaccum forging field with this head, and based on our testing, will most likely re-tool our existing heads to follow suit.

Purchased the SMT 455 with the Accuflex Assassin S 48" Shaft. A really terrific combination. The distance gain is beyond belief and it always goes straight! Compared to other drivers I tried, it is outstanding and way cheaper. Looks nice and impressive so be prepared to answer questions. 100% satisfied and can recommend SMT to everyone.

Believe the HYPE!! This club will add length to your drive. No scoring on the face allows the ball to penetrate with little spin and roll forever after landing. This club is called " the longest club on the planet" and I am now a believer, you will be too and so will your golfing buddies. I've been using the hawkeye VFT for years, and I've hit all the big name drivers, but none compare in distance. Suprisingly forgiving and straight. SMT will be a big name eventually, but for now take advantage of a high quality product at the low prices they are currently at.

This Club is a MONSTER! I have a Graffalloy Blue Stiff shaft in it and I don't need to worry about par 4's any more, cause they've become par 3's.. Yesterday I hit 3 par 4's in the green, all 330-350 yards!(A Little wind help there, but still, it's nice to try putting an eagle in par 4's..) Par 5's have become a joke with this club, AND IF I COULD ONLY CHIP AND PUTT i'd be a scratch golfer in two years. It looks awesome with the blue shaft and the red head, and it doesn't even look too big with me, since I'm 6ft7 myself. A GREAT CLUB.

This is one great club. It has the Assassin II 46" stiff shaft. Looks great too,all red. Those in my group laughed at the size of the head and noise it made on my first drive but they after saw how much I out drove them and they got their jaw off the ground, they began to ask how much and where could they buy one.

Customer Service

Great to work with when I placed the order. Answered all my questions and made recommendations regarding shaft, length, and flex.

Great head. I purchased the VIZION shaft and at 46.5 inches I hit it about 290yds. with 70 to 80 per cent swing effort. My advice would be buy the BEST shaft you can afford; gets some LONG TEES... the head with do the rest. I have reached my home course par 5's both times I have played with the SMT 455. Thanks SMT.

I have purchased over 5 of these heads in various lofts from 6 degree to 9 degree. Once you get your shaft specs right and buy very high tees, this driver is unbeatable. More forgiveness than a month of Sundays in church and lenght! Very happy with this clubhead. If there is a down side, its the "clank" sound when you crush it. It makes everyone else in your foursome cringe. Also, watch out for shaft flex. Since it is deep bore, any shaft you put in it will be tip stiff. My personal combination was a tip flexible shaft with low torque and I did not sink the shaft completely to the bottom of the club. I know this is not a recommended shafting technique, but it helps retain the tip flexiblity for those who swing under 110 MPH.

Customer Service

Very good customer service.

455 Deep Bore 6 Degree Accuflex Assassin II X flex 46.5" Frequency: 250 Winn Grip I bought this club after reading about the Long Distance Championship and seeing that most of the top players use SMT heads and Accuflex shafts. This club has a tennis racquet like sweet spot. I originally had this club with the Pro LD 46" shaft (the Pat Dempsey model), but I broke it in the first round I used it. It's a big clubhead, so it needs a nice shaft to go with it. I gained at least a clublength with this club over my Callaway 6.5 degree driver. Also, I can now hit the ball over the far fence at my favorite driving range, where I could only hit the bottom of it on the fly before. If you have really high swing speed and want a driver that will make the most of it, this is it.

Customer Service

When I broke my first shaft, Pat Dempsey called me personally to let me know the situation with the club.

This club is a great confidence builder. It was recommended that I put an Accuflex Vizion on my SMT to assist swing speed. I now drive the ball farther and straighter due this very forgiving club. I never was a real long ball hitter but the 455 deep bore gets this high handicapper on down the fairway better than any club I have ever hit.

Customer Service

Real pleased with Diamond Tour. There consultants took the time to get all the info and advise me on the correct shaft.

My swing speed is 100mph with a draw bias and a smooth tempo. I tried the 10 degree with Assassin in regular flex. Be aware that because of the deep bore, the regular flex shaft actually tested out at stiff on a frequency meter. Also, I had difficulty getting the ball up with 10 degrees of loft. Only when using a 12 degree driver head did I get a decent trajectory...normally I use a 10 degree driver. Even with the 12 degree driver, I was disappointed....no extra distance and I went from my normally straight drive to spraying the ball all over. I have used this driver for over 4 rounds now and it did not work for me. Maybe it works better for peeps that have higher swing speeds...did not work for me.
