Si3 380
Have been at the task of searching for the right driver for years. Had some decent ones, but remained inconsistent off the tee. Just bought si3 380 with grafalloy blue stiff 8* and wow. I thought my swing was just off. I have played two rounds thus far and haven't missed a fairway! Long and straight, and easy to work the ball as well. They're going for cheap on ebay right now, $115 for mine brand new! Customer Service no experience Similar Products Used: Callaway Hawkeye, Titleist 983, Taylor Made 580, many many more |

Feals dead through impact. Has a nice low ball flite though but if you want to go ping then the G2 driver is the best ping out. |

Ping Si3 380 9 Degree
I bought this driver with a Grafalloy Blue Stiff shaft. After all the years of going thru numerous head/shaft combinations, I have found a club that copes with my swing characteristic. The shaft rewards a smooth yet quick tempo. Swing it quick and you will get a draw, ease off in the swing and the result is a straight/fade. The design of the head gives you the impression that there is more loft than is stated on the clubhead, thereby giving you more confidence to get the ball in the air. What can I say, well worth the money, and with the new G2 driver available these are going to go very cheaply. In all honestly, this is a fantastic driver/shaft combination which is hard to beat. This is one of 2 drivers I play, the other a Taylor Made r580xd. The Si3 380 is a great driver. It has a small head for today's standard, but the deep face offers a large hitting area and sweet spot. One thing to keep in mind is the degree of loft. I have a 9 degree, which my clubfitter physically measured at 10 degrees. I also had my clubfitter shorten the shaft on my club to 44"(stock is a very long 45.5 inches), and I have seen big improvements in accurracy with no loss of distance. (I'm 6'2" if you are wondering.) He added lead tape for me to bring it back to a d3 swing weight. I have the Grafalloy Blue Stiff and it is a great fit. I won a long drive hole in a tourney with it with a 345 yard bomb. I use this primarily as a "control" driver if I play a course with lots of trees. I bring out the R580XD for the long straight bombs. Customer Service Haven't needed to call Ping with this driver or my Ping irons. Both are solid. Ping si3 380
I purchased this club about 4 months ago after trying a demo. I have the graf. blue stiff shaft and it feels so sweet and accurate. I've playing golf for about 7 months now. The head design is attractive too. The face is tall, but the 380 size isn't so big that it looks like a hockey stick or broom. I can reach 250 yards with ease but I need to work out my occasional slice. I can usualy hit 'em pretty straight. The sound is ok. I also tried the Cobra SZ and the sound from those clubs are painfully high-pitched. The si3 sounds more like a nice "whack". I believe it's all about the shaft when it comes to distance clubs, so get the right shaft. also since Ping's G2 driver is out the price on the si3s have been dropping. Customer Service AWESOME! first rate. They are friendly and very responsive. I seriously have had the best customer service from PING, and that includes any industry or service out there. Ping Si3 380 Driver
Bought this driver 3 weeks ago on eBAY for $150, which isn't bad. I have been playing on and off for around 5 years and just recently moved into an apartment complex on a golf course, so the bug hit me big time. I am by no means a great golfer, but I am getting better all the time and this driver is definately helping me out. I am still refining my swing, and one thing is for sure....if you are a consitant ball striker, no matter how hard you swing, the ball just explodes of this club. It is extremely forgiving off of the toe, not so much off of the heel. I can get almost the same distance off the toe as I do the sweet spot. Anyways...I am extremely pleased with this driver, and I believe any one who tries it will feel the same way...my best friend who is a Titleist fanboy even loves this driver and is currently looking for one for hiself. Hope this helps.. Customer Service Haven't had to deal with them Similar Products Used: Titliest 975D, Taylor Made 300, King Cobra II Ti |

Ping SI 380
I've tried most of the top drivers out there and the SI 380 with the aldila nv shaft is the best for me. The ping is the most accurate and the distance ranks near the top. This is also a very forgiving driver and easy to work. I had the titleist 983k and it is a hook monster. Customer Service Questions answered fast. Ping SI3 - 380cc
Tried this one out as part of a demo day at the Mountain View Golf Links in Northern CA. Went with the 2* upright set up (i.e. Green Dot). All come with 1* closed face. Tested both in Regular and Stiff Ping SI3 standard graphite shaft with their new lightweight grip and lofts of 9, 10, and 11. 45 " in length. Super light club! Feather weight really. To give you an idea, I tried the Cleveland Launcher just after this demo and the Launcher felt like a brick... You definitley feel the clubhead better with the Regular shaft though. Sound off the face is a thud as opposed to a Ping. Regardless of club, the flight was a high launch and not boring / penetrating like my Ping i3 with 9*. If you're an agressive swinger with a fast tempo then the stiff shaft will be the better way to go. I've slowed my tempo down quite a bit and had better and longer results with the Regular shaft. This regular shaft feels stiffer than the the Ping i3 stiff Cushin staff. I tend to have a driver swingspeed of around 95-100 mph. I tried 10 drives with each loft and shaft flex and EVERY SINGLE DRIVE WENT STRAIGHT AND FAR. I couldn't believe it. Best results appeared to be with the 9* and the Regular shaft. The loft on these clubs is deceiving. The CG on the club is much lower now and thus the lofts act higher than indicated. I hit the 9* more like an 11* for instance. So that's the results. How did I feel about the club? I honestly wasn't too crazed, because the club felt just too light to me. I never thought I'd say that, but there ya go. However the results were undeniable. Every drive was good and went far. So very pleased with the overall results, but a little disappointed with the feel and sound off the face. So I'm giving this a 5 for the overall rating, but at $330 I feel the value needs to be at 4. Similar Products Used: Cleveland Launcher, Titleist 983K, Taylor Made R series, and Mizuno. |
