Ping G2 Driver
Ping G2 is still setting the standard for all the other drivers. No one has improved on this driver since. Of course the TV pros play the new stuff that they have all jacked up by the manufacturer. But us handicap players will not do better than the G2 |

A friend of mine at our local course had purchased a Ping G2 Driver used and all he did was complain about how terrible of a club it was, excuses such as I hook it, I slice it, no distance. Since he was left handed and so was I, I asked him to sell the club to me. I bought it for $75.00, he had paid used $129.00 but in excellent shape. We took the club to the range and first drive I hit was about 265 straight as an arrow. (I am 64 Yrs old) he is 37. I repeated this for at least 10 more balls and then he tried to hit it, the ball sliced, I told him to take the $75.00 I just gave him and take a lesson, The G2 Rocks and for $75.00 it is even better. By the way my friend is a high hndcp and couldnt hit the ground with his hat if he threw it straight down. In other words dont always blame your clubs for your bad shot making. If you want a solid club get a Ping you cant go wrong, you can find them reasonable on ebay or Callaway Preowned sells used Pings Also. I put my other driver in the garage, The Ping goes with me 2 days a week to play, what a joy. Customer Service Not Used Similar Products Used: Nothing Close |

I've been playing the Ping G2 driver with Aldila NV65 shaft for almost 3 years. This driver has exceptional build quality and is forgiving, straight, and long. I demo drivers periodically and haven't found one that can knock my G2 out of the bag. I highly recommend Ping G2, G5, and G10 drivers. Customer Service Haven't needed customer service but have called to ask questions and got a human on the phone within 1 minute which is rare these days. |

I have had the G2 in my bag for 3 years now and used to switch drivers frequently but not anymore, i know there are a lot of new ones coming out every day but 460cc is 460cc to me and unless they find something new i don't really think spending the big bucks for practically the same product is worth it. |

I have been playing the G2 for almost 4 years now. I wanted to go with the Aldila NV 65 shaft because it is an awesome shaft. However, after getting fitted, I realized that the stock Aldila shaft works pretty damn good to. This is one of the best clubs in my bag, so don't let the stock shaft fool you. Long and straight always works for me. Just switched to the G10, hope I don't regret it. Customer Service Didn't have to use. Similar Products Used: Titleist 983k Taylor made R7 |

Beautiful build quality, but this was not a club for me. When I DID connect, the ball would really fly, but overall very hard to control off the tee, due, so I am told, to a high spin rate. Don't know if that really is the case, but I can say that the club is now sitting proudly in the used bin at the local proshop with many of its fellows! Have been playing a LH G2 10* w/Fujikura Vista Pro stiff for 2 years...have tried most drivers on the range and it's the G2 that wins every time. Like many golfers my swing is in the 95-98 mph range. I'm 58 now with a little stiffness so my swing is starting to slow down...still the G2 w/ an honest stiff shaft works well...with a slight modification. By shortening the club to 45" or 44.75 and adding lead tape to the head, I have softened the playing flex a little while increasing the MOI of the club...I like the club so much that I recently purchased a 2nd G2 used on ebay for $63 with a stiff Prolaunch Blue shaft...have hit numerous versions of the G5 at 10* and like many golfers, actually prefer the G2...biggest difference between the G2 and G5 is the the G5 has a lighter crown allowing a little more weight to be positioned low and towards the back/heel. For me, the G2 had a nicer trajectory and feel...the G2 seemed to feel more solid...shortening the length a little and adding lead tape in strategic locations (rear corners) helps more than a little...If you are like me with a swing speed in the 95 mph range, buy some lead tape and get a a G2 10* w/ a stiff flex shaft. Then experiment with adding weight to the head and choking up a little on the club...the club will actually play a little softer and you will find the length and added weight that works best for you...this is essentially what the pros do...slightly tweaking the club heads weight and adjusting the grip point to find the combination that feels/works best...also, may pros play a driver in the 44.5" length range...the G2 standard of 45.5 allows a great deal of room for adding weight and shortening the grip...try it, you just might find your ideal driver! Similar Products Used: most everything availible in LH...from Cleveland Launchers and Cobras to Tour edge exotics to Taylormade TP to Titleist...and everything in between with most availible shafts. Prior to the G2, my favorite driver was the Taylormade 320 tour w/ proforce 65 stiff shaft, 9*, Square face, nice feel. |

Bought this club off ebay for $67.00 plus shipping. First driver I've bought since 1995 (Big Bertha Knock off) Was a little apprehensive about the oversized head, but it was love at first swing. Long and straight. Always was a long hitter, but am averaging about 295 yards with a long at the Blue Monster at Doral of 330. Would highly recomend. |
